If it's faster and more stable, I'm personally all for the new dashboard. Everyone's judging prematurely, but I'm willing to bet your tunes will change once you slap a theme on it. It looks really bland with the gray. I'm also somewhat interested in these new avatars. Especially if they'll be integrated into some games, such as 1 vs 100 (apparently).
"In many respects it's RE4 with shinier imagery."
And RE4 was a masterpiece, not to mention it successfully reinvented the RE franchise. Why drastically change it again?
"The aiming mechanic is also a challenge, as the laser sight never seems to aim where expected and leads to many inaccurately fired rounds -- a bad thing for a game with limited ammunition."
Maybe that's the point.
I don't mean to sound like some RE fanbo...
Like Sony ripped off 360's Achievements? Are you really that blind by your fanboyism? Everyone rips off everyone; N64 was the first console to have an analog controller. Now it's standard; N64 revived built-in support for up to 4 controllers. Also standard now (up to 7 in PS3's case). So you could also accuse Sega, Sony and Microsoft for ripping off Nintendo's innovations. While you're at it, you might as well accuse Nintendo of ripping off Atari for that built-in support for up to 4 controll...
"What you just said is one of the most insanely, idiotic things I have ever heard. No where in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
Hopefully things will start looking up for you guys. Things aren't so great here in the States either. It seems like everything only gets more expensive, so it's hard to be optimistic in that regard.
I feel for you guys. The US economy isn't so great right now either. I would also hate to see game development die off in Europe. Great ideas can come from all parts of the world.
To whoever disagreed with that, please put your fanboyism aside. My point was that, epically speaking, Master Chief did a perfectly fine job at touching his audience (you wouldn't understand the "Believe" campaign otherwise). To say he wasn't an influential hero is asinine. I'm not saying MC is more or less of an influence compared to Snake, but an influence nonetheless.
Prior to Halo, the only good console FPS were GoldenEye and Perfect Dark. Before those, there was nothing but garbage. Halo redefined console FPS (keyword: CONSOLE), like GE007 and PD before it. Call of Duty 4 may have taken the torch away, but I don't see it as being better than Halo - just a different style of game. I also don't think Halo is better than PD, nor PD better than GE007. They are all fantastic games in their own right. To say one is better than another is just pure fanboyism. T...
If a game has you caring about its hero, like so many care for MC or Snake, then the game did its job in the emotion department. MC has just as much of an influence as Snake or any other major video game hero, simply because they mean so much to the people who play their games.
I think Diablo 3 and Fallout 3 will both be great games. No sense it making it a "who has the biggest d#ck" contest.
"OMG. This forum is going to hell."
It's already there. Where have you been?
I see TotalMK is still vandalizing his MK images with horrible-looking watermarks. I can understand something small in the corner, but having to slap it over the center of the image too? That guy's such a douche bag.
Hell has finally frozen over! (har har)
It's about god damn time.
This made my day. Quite possibly my week, even.
Diablo basically took "roguelike" games to the next level; a great story, game play and graphics, and the music was awesome as well.
@ChampIDC: If you liked Titan Quest, you'd probably love the Dungeon Siege series and Sacred as well.
I'd have to agree. I've been playing WoW since launch and BC totally ruined it. I think Arena is the cause for most of it. Too many balancing issues now. They also made too many things easier; lots of elites non-elite now, leveling up faster (which makes mount money a bigger issue), etc. The gap between Azeroth items and BC items is just too huge. You can skip most of Azeroth's end-game content for Outland's 60+, making Azeroth's end-game stuff completely useless.
He makes a valid point. Regardless of GT2's age, one disc was Arcade Mode, the other Simulation Mode. There's nothing wrong with that. It's not like you swapped discs constantly. I personally don't see the problem with multi-disc games if the game is worth it. The truth of the matter is most games this generation don't require anything bigger than DVD9. MGS4 was an amazing 30gb+, but not every game has uncompressed audio, hour-long cutscenes and a man named Kojima behind it; and unfortunately...
Regardless of how many discs it is, it won't prevent me from enjoying it. Anybody who whines about the number of discs of a game is just a lazy fool. As long as the disc swapping doesn't get in the way of the experience, I personally don't find it a problem.
This is old news:

Same list, too. Thanks anyway.
Just like you can always tell when anyone with 2 bubbles and 37 ignores will never have anything relevant or remotely intelligent to say.
