I laugh at journalists who think stuff like this is actually newsworthy. Every company is guilty of slinging mud. Even Nintendo.
Just more fuel for the fanboys.
Finally, a review that makes light of the story. It seems that most critics fail to mention if it's any good or not, mostly focusing on its graphics, lack of horror, controversial control or Sheva AI. Has anyone ever considered that maybe it's light on the horror and heavy on the action this time around because, like any great story, it ends with a major climax? If you're a fan of the RE plot, it has all come down to this.
How is it a form of control when most people are free to believe in whatever they choose? I know many people who are religious by choice, who didn't necessarily grow up in a religious household. The problem here is the radicals who take things too far. That can be said about any group of people, religious or not. Even fanboys.
I'm not very religious, but I have nothing against it personally. To me, the people who speak ill of it are just as bad as the ones who take religion to an...
And an attitude problem to go with it.
Gotta love people like Ghost of Sparta, who let meta scores justify their existence, let alone gloat over them on the internet. I feel sorry for you and people like you.
I think you missed the point. It's not about the games themselves. I've met some good people online from around the world that I've never met in person, but talk to on a regular basis, whether during games or on chat protocols, and I'd personally like to know if something tragic has happened to one of them. Just because you've never met somebody doesn't mean you can't share a bond with them.
And what makes you think you're so much better? Regardless of what they believe in, they're still people. Don't be an asshat.
I just don't get how our lame ass government can make such a fuss over isolated cases of violence that may or may not be linked to video games, not caring if the criminals are mentally ill in the first place, yet they do nothing to stop the tabacco industry for making death sticks that are proven to kill hundreds of thousands a year. Does that make sense to anyone? Surely it boils down to money. It always does.
You played Halo 3 after COD4? You can stop right there.
David Alan Grier put it best when he said: "It's only racist if you are."
A clear example of this is Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. They always seem to come out of the woodwork any time a white person has said or done something immoral to a black person, yet they don't care if it's the other way around. It's what you call reverse racism.
Why is it that blacks are allowed to make fun of white people on TV, using terms like "cracker" or "your w...
Well Xbox fans, that's a wrap. The PS3 fanboys won because GamePro said so. Pack it up, go home and wait patiently for Xbox 3. :P
But seriously, I'll never understand why people care about stuff like this so much. It's all just opinion. Nothing more. It still doesn't change the fact that Halo is still popular, and for a reason, nor take away all the fun I had while playing it with friends over the years. Something bigger and badder will always come along, but does it truly "...
Which just might make this movie look good.
MK doesn't need to die. It needs to grow up. Its original fans (me included) aren't 12 years old anymore. Ed Boon has done little to evolve the gameplay. UMK3 was the last competitive MK. Everything afterward has been garbage as far as gameplay is concerned.
I'll agree that the latest Sonic games have been crappy, but you can't kill off an iconic figure like Sonic. That's like killing off Mario. Good luck with that. What Sonic needs is another mind-blowing 2D game. 3D just isn't ...
A great story can be told in under 2 hours in a feature-length film. 7 hours is fine with me, so long as the story is good. I want to know:
- How Jill Valentine died.
- The outcome of Chris vs. Wesker Part 2.
- What Sheva is all about.
- What TriCell is up to.
- How Umbrella's virus(es) came to be.
- The fate of Sherry Berkin.
- Who that masked woman is.
It's like a movie to me. I want to see what happens next. A 7 hour interactive...
I like how some people think that anything below 80% is bad. I don't really care for these meta score sites, but I just took a glance at the user rating for Halo Wars on Metacritic and had to laugh. 0.8% out of 10 based on 115 votes? The Sony fanboys must be hard at work. I suspect it's the same on the 360 side of things. How lame can one get?
@3.5: Exaggerating? Me and everyone else, right? I don't think so, friend. I, along with many other gamers not only enjoy MP, but story-telling as well. CoD4 had an epic story that was told and presented in blockbuster fashion. The ending couldn't get much better. Disagreeing is your right, but to go as far as saying I'm exaggerating is a bit much.
@3.6: From what you understand? So I take it you haven't even played it all the way through, if at all? If that's the case, how can y...
What's wrong with that? 8 sounds fair to me. I think high 9's and 10's are given out way too frequently. Look at the GTA4 fiasco. Everyone was jacking off to that game because it looked so pretty and it was another GTA. But it didn't last very long, did it? People started to see for themselves all the things that were wrong with it, like the MP, the controls, etc. This is why I laugh at people who haven't even played the retail game, yet are crying foul every time they disagree with a review ...
Maybe so, but CoD4's SP was epic. It was nothing short of brilliant.
Seeing you fanboys make such a fuss over reviews, meta scores, as well as making assumptions and putting words into other people's mouths makes me laugh. Do you really think anyone cares about a couple tenths of a point? Seriously?
I agree with Snatcher. Since RE5 brings the main plot to a close, I thought taking a more action approach was necessary. It's the big climax to a great story. If it was all slow, it wouldn't have the same affect. If RE6 comes to pass (hopefully), then I'll welcome a return to survival horror.
And I had no problem with the controls. Everyone griping about them is just spoiled with other control schemes. Running and gunning in RE would be extremely lame.
