DLC is made by different people than the teams that work on the retail game in the final few months before release. Assets are already finished by that time, and 90% of the work is bug fixing and testing. So during that time, teams are often set to begin on extending the content in DLC, and the schedule may very well line up with the shipping of the game. Remember, shipping a game takes months to arrange, and factories need about a month or two headstart to start manufacturing the discs. DLC ...
I think most of you are jumping to conclusions. Just because the character is 'major' to the cannon of the Mass Effect Universe, doesn't mean he actually is to the game. DLC is meant to add something extra to the experience for those willing to pay, and until anyone has actually tried out this DLC, I don't think it's reasonable to assume the DLC is 'cut' from the main game. In fact, it's likely to be similar to Zaeed and Kasuma from Mass Effect 2, where they ha...
This isn't exactly a news article, or an opinion piece.. It's a forum topic disguised as an article.. How was this approved?
Resistance 3 ($30.00)
Killzone 3 ($39.00)
Uncharted 3 ($39.00)
Portal 2 ($10.00)
The Movies ($1.00)
Star Wars: The Old Republic ($35.00)
Assassins Creed: Brotherhood ($25.00)
Mass Effect 1 ($3.00)
Mass Effect 2 ($5.00)
think that's it. So <$200 this year.
Lol it's funny how many people are raging on about it, forgetting that Bioware has always offered "up to 5 days early access". It's now 7 days ahead of launch, Bioware are letting in quite a few people, and they've made it blindingly obvious since the pre-orders started that they will only guarantee that you get at least one day early access.
Hope I don't get it before Friday - would make it hard to focus on work lol.
If you've ever seen "The Road", you'll know how to think about this game. It's not really going to focus on the infected. Sure, you might have to kill them once in a while, but the majority of the game is going to be about survival.
I think summer blockbuster is exactly what they were going for with Uncharted :)
I'd say that's a good aspiration, and I won't hold it against them if they don't manage. Storytelling in games is tough, and even tougher to get right.
@h311rais3r
I don't claim it to be in-game. I'm merely stating that it's a real-time video. (also note that this just refers to a video rendered in Real Time, and does not necessarily represent the actual look of the game. Knowing ND however, it probably will).
@Konti
What you're referring to is the real-time rendering of a cutscene. That's not the same as pre-rendering. Those are two terms you have mixed up.
A re...
@Panda
"Not in-game, or real-time"
Funny, as you just said that it was real time:
"They said that the trailer was in-engine"
Consider:

"An in-engine cutscene is by definition a form of Machinima."
Read: Not pre-rendered ;)
Please note that it i...
Here's hoping that Naughty Dog will give us a nice christmas present.
jwk94, it's clearly stated in the rules that the source provided in N4G needs to be as close to the actual source as possible.
Sounds great! I can't wait for more details. Want to know what I want for Christmas, Naughty Dog?
This article is 2 days old, and irrelevant, as it's already become clear that Nolan North is not the voice actor for Joel.
To be honest, I don't see that much of a difference... At least, not anywhere near the difference some people are making it out to have...
Lol, as Mc Fadge states above, Gabe didn't really reveal anything but the fact that they're making a third entry in one of their franchises. Since all of their franchises stop at number 2, all he's saying is that they are announcing something, and that it's not a new IP. So we still have nothing, lol.
It's embarrassing how many people try to attack the game already, with what you mentioned "just another zombie game", as well as ill-informed statements such as "the trailer is pre-rendered, game will just look ok".
Makes you wonder how many people actually put any thought into what a game is.
Read and try telling me it's pre-rendered after that:

Dwight, you clearly forgot to read my third link, in which it's stated that the trailer was "in-engine".
A squadmate who was originally designed and intended to be an exclusive treat for the people who bought CE.
The fact that you can now get it without should be enough for you already, if you are a real fan that is. If anything, it's the CE people that should be complaining.
