There will never be a language in which it is the least bit difficult to write bad programs.

Where did they say that that's not the case? They are clearly avoiding spoilers, so "Clarify" may mean anything from indoc to something that everybody completely missed, as well as having the ending be what actually happened.

If the business model is to change to provide MP and SP components seperately for the players that are interested, I could see it as beneficial for both the companies and the players. Right now new games cost about 40 pounds, so imagine if SP was sold for 25 and MP was sold for 15, you'd still end up paying the same if you want both, but people like me interested mainly in Single Player would benefit a lot from it. It would also benefit companies as they are making the market more accessi...

" Programming the kind of ending some gamers were expecting would have been a nightmare"

No.. it wouldn't be. Thing is, programmers have very little to do with the dialogue and cutscenes in the game. The programmers build the framework, and the designers and artists fill that framework with their story, dialogue, conditions and cutscenes. I would be surprised if there was even one programmer that even touched the endings.

I'm surprised they have the guts to call this a beta version of the game. I'd call this an alpha version at best, and judging by the vid there isn't a whole lot to do that has anything to do with online, except for some players running around. I wonder if they sorted out any legal issues, though probably not..

It doesn't look like a whole lot of thought went into the actual programming of the game either, with a seemingly complete absence of state systems.

"Violent and addictive computer games are making children more aggressive"

Whoever wrote the article, and the woman who stated this, should read this sentence again. They're saying that violent computer games are making _children_ more aggressive, whilst violent video games have an age rating of at least 12+, and usually 16+.

" BioWare complying with these demands, in some form or another, is also unprecedented"
Except it isn't, it's been done before, but the demand has just never been as strong as it is now.

All I see is a ship and a random island. To say that this is Pirates of the Caribbean is nothing more than grabbing for attention, and attempting to use its name to promote your mod - which truthfully doesn't look "Speechlessly impressive".

Can't imagine it being that much harder - besides the article seems to be speaking about whatever the default (read: Recommended) difficulty is, otherwise you don't really have a reason to complain about it. You'd only play on Insanity if you want it to be near-impossible lol.

Was Kai Leng really that hard to defeat? I won from him on my first try, didn't think it was all that difficult :S In fact, I remember feeling a bit disappointed with his difficulty, given how difficult to defeat he was implied to be through the cutscenes.

Took me a while to figure out that this was on N4G because the Sims was briefly mentioned in the article.. <_<

I'm confused.. Why does it matter that it's a Ps3 exclusive? I would say the same regardless of the platform it was on..

I'd say Lair for instance deserves that place a lot more than Haze.

"That website blows. "

Their list does too. I've seen far worse games than Haze this generation. Haven't played the other four, though I can imagine Leisure Suit Larry and Quantum Theory are terrible.

@Darkride

That's actually incorrect. Your choices did matter in Mass Effect 2. Whilst you correctly assert the ones from Mass Effect 1 didn't mean anything in the second game, it was the choices you made in the second game (loyalty, non-loyalty; Upgrades, no upgrades; Good leader, Bad leader) that mattered in the final wrap up of the game.

War Assets in the third game didn't do anything at all to really change the outcome. You still get almost th...

I agree Raf1k1, it should've been in the game. The whole point of the game being the final game in the franchise was to give fans conclusive answers, and they didn't do that.

Whilst I agree that morally speaking the DLC should be free, corporatively speaking I'm not sure if they'll be able to do it. Extending the ending would require a substantial amount of resources, and with a large publisher helming the company, it's unlikely they'd get the funding...

It's not even about the "fate set in stone". Most people would've probably be fine if whatever you did, you would lose the war for example. The problem is that none of the choices have been reflected in the ending. For instance, "Losing the war" could be done in 20 different ways depending on your choices. Sure you weren't able to affect the outcome, but at least you get to see the result of the different choices you made.

"No game endings need to be changed you stupid assholes"
Agree.

"You didn't like it...GET OVER IT"
Disagree.

Two main problems are the closure (or rather, the lack of it) it gives to fans of the series, and the fact that choices aren't reflected in the ending, whilst they very easily could be, and were promised to be.

Both of these things can be achieved without changing the ending, but instead exte...

I agree with you RipSkatedDestroy, though I also agree with the people who are screaming to change it.

Having finished the game now, I can say that to a certain extend, the developers vision should remain intact. Whether you like or dislike it is subjective. But what they can do is extend the ending, and perhaps offer a few more choices. The biggest problem with the ending is not just that "your choices do not matter". That's actually a very poor explanation of ...

I'd actually say there's too few servers... I like them deserted, so I can just pretend it's a single player game.

"Changing the ending to Lost (which I loved) would have required vastly more time, resources, and money than making a short 10 minute DLC would cost. So, you're analogy isn't really comparable."

... Do you have any idea how many resources go into making a game? Their budgets far exceed those of most TV series, and for good reason. Making a "short 10 minute DLC" for a AAA title would likely cost more money than an entire Lost episode, considering the r...
