That Parappa has no salience in the modern gaming sphere is _exactly_ why he is in the game. There's something for everyone ;)

Third Party games are a big part of Sony's history, and many of them were exclusive to Playstation. Whether these were first or third party doesn't really mean they weren't the face of Playstation, and that's what they're trying to do with this game. Every character (or rather, IP) that has some historical significance to the b...

Sony actually does have a lot of characters associated with Playstation, as they have a lot of first-party studios, each with a large number of IPs. Sony has 17 years of history with original IPs, with a lot of memorable characters. Parappa is shown as it shows how far back the roster goes in time, and Fat Princess is probably there due to the company that owns the IP being one of the co-producers.

The type of gameplay in Smash Bros is not directly connected to Smash Bros itself. The game (or whatever it was based off) defined a fighting subgenre, and whilst not a lot of games are in that subgenre, calling any game within it a "rip-off" is just silly. If you do that, you might as well start calling every platformer, RPG, First Person Shooter, Third Person Shooter and Fighter rip-offs from each other.

Besides, this game is fan-service, so it's not trying to...

To add to what TKCMuzzer said, these guys are a spin-out company of Sony Santa Monica. They're everything but random.

Funny, that's exactly why I still play the game when I get the chance. Dead servers means no people bothering me whilst I'm playing, making it more of a single player experience, instead of queuing up by a spawn point to finish a quest.

Copying? It's funny how people are up in arms about it, especially considering the images attached could be from just about any game.

Truth is, Smash Brothers is not just a game. It defined a sub-genre in fighting games, which is something people don't seem to have gotten over yet.

Crytek owns the IP, but Crytek UK is still mostly Free Radical Design so I'm confident that the next TimeSplitters won't be a CoD clone like most other games are these days.

If you ask me, it's the parents of those teens that should be held responsible for their spending, not the companies that they spend their money on. Of course, there is a valid case against DeNa here - a splash screen should be a requirement.

It seems a bit odd for IGN to be hyping an announcement made by a different media outlet, especially considering they're acting as if they will be the ones to reveal it.

Either it's a miscommunication, or this may just be a different game.

The title's quite offensive and childish. Nobody's an idiot just because they don't agree with your views.

They may be, but there is a point at which you can no longer tell the difference, and your argument falls apart ;)

TimeSplitters 4??

Sounds like PR to me. Most of the features that really make Dx11 stand out are there as hardware, not software features. You can do it in software, but it's a lot slower.

Aside from that, I could reasonably believe they use some OpenGL extensions to get some extra functionality out of the drivers. It's a lot harder with DirectX.

If it was an announced game, he would've tweeted which game was going to get a gameplay debut. The fact he refers to it as a "Ps3 Exclusive" rather than "God of War" tells you that it's a game that hasn't been announced yet ;).

Question has been asked a number of times, and the answer is still the same: No.

Both will remain, with P2P MMOs providing a premium service.

Launch yes, but sales after launch day have been a lot lower.

"Sorry mate but I think you're looking at it with fan goggles. Granted EA aren't the worst company in gaming, there is a LOT of room for improvement imho."
Never said there wasn't room for improvement, but that's true for any company.

"I also disagree with them producing the best quality games."
I didn't state that as an opinion. That's based on actual data derived from metacritic. Average reviews for EA games score ...

For as far as I'm aware, the people banned from Origin were those that launched personal threats against developers. Well deserved bans if you ask me. Cheaters may have been banned as well.

I use single player mods, and Origin fully supports single player mods for the games available on it. Most games even have their own dedicated modding sites hosted by EA, so a ban because of a single player mod? Highly unlikely.

Terrible article, it does not take into account the horrible things many other companies do.

I for one do not think EA's practises are that different from any other publisher. If you throw death threats at developers, you sure as hell deserve to be banned from Origin. Day One DLC? Name one company that has never done it?
Doesn't even matter if you can, fact is - it's difficult to stay afloat in the industry, and these companies have to make a profit.
