Pre-Rendered != In-Engine

" it's a trailer, not a game running"
Whilst it's not gameplay, it definitely is a game running. It's in-engine footage. The models and textures are all exactly like they are in the gameplay footage. What they did likely adjust however, as this is only a video and doesn't need to worry about Collision Detection and such, is extra effects, lighting and animation.
"This is an in-engine, pre-rendered video"
Incorrect, it's a video that's rendered in-engine. Pre-rendered is CG, and doesn't use the engine at all.
Not discrediting the rest of your post by the way, just correcting your statement ;)
@hkgamer
CG and In-Engine are worlds apart. CG is generated without using the engine at all.
Also, there's no such thing as "Pre-Rendered In-Engine", as Pre-Rendered means it's pre-made and compiled in a video file, whilst In-Engine means it's not pre-made and uses scripting to define the movements and camera angles to render a scene in real time. In-Engine may however scale lighting effects up a bit, as the lack of game control leaves a...
There is no evidence to support the theory that the fungus "controls" these beings, so your argument really depends on the types of assumptions you make about this infection. It's not unlikely that the mutated humans still have complete control over themselves, with the fungus just radically affecting brain functioning due to it basically eating away parts of the brain, not completely unlike a tumor.
I was mainly responding to this sentence:
"
It's a played out genre right now and I like Uncharted and ND. "
Which is a contradiction, as you claim the genre is played out, yet you like a game in the genre.
What defines a zombie is mainly that they're mindless, and usually undead. These creatures communicated with each other, and they're not undead. In fact, I'd say they're still very much alive, with most of thei...
Zombies are mindless creatures. The fact that these mutants communicate with each other already explains that they're not mindless, and hence that they're not zombies.
Zombies and Mutants are two very different things. In fact, if you call these guys zombies, then Uncharted 1 is a zombie game as well :|
Lol it's funny how some people call it "Just another zombie game" when it doesn't have zombies. (And no, not every mutated human being is a "zombie").
.. In Engine is the same as Real Time. In Engine simply means that the footage is running on the engine, and if it's running on the engine, it's running in real-time, because the engine is a piece of real-time rendering software. It would be completely pointless to pre-render a piece of footage in-engine, artificially change the framerate, bump up the resolution etc.
I actually enjoyed it. Some jokes were pretty funny, the reveals were great, and it was well presented. The only thing that could have been better was their focus, as it should have focussed a bit more on awards than celebs.
Why does it have to be mature?
Don't really think he looks any more like Drake than other male characters do in games. Think the main reason it stands out is because everyone now associates Naughty Dog with Nathan Drake :)
They revealed his name, it's not Nathan Drake. The guy's called Joel.
Agree, and the premise of the story reminds me of I Am Alive. It looks great, though I'd really appreciate seeing some actual gameplay (regardless, I'll probably end up buying it anyway.. Bought every ND game so far since Crash Bandicoot lol)

I can't wait to see how this game plays!
Now this was unexpected. A new direction indeed!
Wow... There's no other word to describe this.
Incorrect, Sony can't simply remove any functionality. OtherOS was a feature which hadn't been used as one of the Ps3's main selling points, but was more of a background thing that you could do if you wanted to.
Features that are actually widely used cannot be taken away without repercussions.
Omi, I never considered either of those games "epic", but bought all of them and loved them. It's the word "epic" that's out of place in this articles title.
