Seems like an interesting concept. I'm hoping it works out, and I look forward to trying the final version.
Of everything in the article, the thing that amazes me most is that he actually managed to fit an Xbox in his pants. Reading everything else makes me thing he's stupid, but that part makes me think he's just pretending to be stupid.
I hate comparisons like these. They're not side by side, and it takes forever to load the next screenshot. I'll wait for a proper comparison between the two.
Ps. Anyone else notice the only sites that manage to screw up comparisons in this way are always german?
@Ziggur
Metacritic ratings show the average consensus of critics, generally people who judge the game as objectively as possible. Metacritic ratings actually go a long way in showing how good a game is. What they do not do however is reflect everyone's opinion, but that's very different from objective information.
In addition, there was nothing wrong with the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2, and definitely nothing that made it a bad game in any way.
@Fluffy
Part of the reason why I asked ForROME to prove that the game's releasing on Xbox 360. AFAIK, the game has only been announced as a game in development, and 343 never made clear if the game was actually going to release on Xbox 360 or its successor. Yet ForROME seems terribly certain that it's releasing on 360.
"MS is releasing HALO 4 2012 in Dec on the current Xbox "
Proof?
What's the point? We'd be able to use it for a few weeks, and then we'd be looking at the end of the world!
It's not the number of negatives that made me surprised at the score, it's the weight of the negatives they mentioned that makes me surprised about the score.
Infamous Franchise: 3.07 Million Units
Uncharted Franchise: 9.8 Million Units
Metal Gear Solid 4: 5.3 Million Units
Gran Turismo 5: 6.64 Million Units
Motorstorm Franchise: 5 Million Units
Resistance Franchise: 6.5 Million Units
Heavy Rain: 1.85 Million Units
Not to burst your bubble, but there's nothing wrong with Ps3 exclusive sales.
To put that into comparison, Xbox 360 is known for 3 franchises, of whic...
"the pacing in U2 is much better"
I'd ask you to elaborate on that.
"the shooting is less smooth"
I've heard people say this, but besides perhaps a slight bit of input lag, the actual shooting doesn't appear to have changed at all in comparison to Uncharted 2. I tried it on Uncharted 2 the other day, and I can't notice a difference? Maybe that's just me.
"seriously underdeveloped villains, story fee...
"But in between these peaks, U3 marks time with two things the franchise has never done more than adequately: gunfights and ledge-jumping. The former continues to go on forever and feel kinda slippery, and the latter is pretty much connect-the-dots. Now the game does a great job of giving you breaks from these two activities, but they still crop up just a bit too much. "
OMG! An Action Adventure game that has a lot platforming and gunplay (Action)! Everyone's go...
I'm a bit confused, as the review sounded quite negative about a lot of important points, and they dish out a 9.3 as its score?
Can you name these issues, and then validate that they weren't present in Uncharted 2? Purely going by gameplay mechanics, Uncharted 3 is identical to Uncharted 2 with the exception of a few additions in the third one.
As for the story, that's very subjective. With the exception of a little bit of copy-paste in the storyline at the end, I actually felt this story was more engaging and fulfilling than Uncharted 2's. On top, I felt the third game had far more varie...
It's interesting how things work. If Uncharted 3 had been the second game in the franchise, and Uncharted 2 had been the third, it's very likely we'd see incredibly similar comments about Uncharted 2 as we're currently seeing about Uncharted 3. Fact of the matter is, because Uncharted 2 blew people away, their expectations for Uncharted 3 went into unrealistic areas. That's what's causing the disappointment.
Not right away. When I've finished MW2 I might, given that it's at a reasonable price.
"The bizarre, almost comical endurance of individual enemies counteracts the obvious care put into the design and strategy of weapons for this game. Grenades explode under men’s feet to their mild confusion, and rocket blasts make them stumble sideways as if they just stepped over a loose rock. "
That's just bull, if you throw a grenade under someones feet in the game, even the foes with the highest endurance, it kills them in one go, no matter how often you'...
Objectively seen however, and based on a general consensus, Dragon Age and Mass Effect 2 are good games.
I have to admit though, I hate the idea of Star Wars: The Old Republic. I wish they had just continued the KOTOR franchise as single player RPGs, instead of making it into World of Warcraft set in a galaxy far far away.
So when was the last time they made a terrible game again?

I don't quite understand some of the commenters on Kotaku. They are complaining about Marlowe in Uncharted 3, saying that she's under-developed and that the story doesn't give you a real reason as to why she's supposedly evil.
But that's part of the point of it. This game is about why Drake does what he does, why he doesn't go out of his way for even people that are clearly dangerous, regardless of their motives. On top of that, her motives aren't ...
@ForROME
Because if it was releasing for the new Xbox, it would say Xbox 720 right? Truth is, if it is a launch title for the Xbox 720, then having a release date without specifying a console would be a giveaway.
I'm not saying that the Xbox is releasing in 2012, but I am saying that the console that the Xbox website specifies isn't conclusive proof. I would consider it conclusive proof if 343 came out with an official statement saying that it was co...
