What species is that creature? There's too much plastic :/
Must be one of the worst ads I've seen in a long time.
Haha, that's fair enough :) I know nothing about football, so I'm assuming that the logo in his avatar is Liverpool's logo?
I'm hoping this will be as good, or better than DOA4. I loved that game, but don't have an Xbox anymore.
Actually, in this individual case I'd say Wenaldy is right. The person in question is stereotyping for seeing a travelling sales merchant, hearing his voice and assuming it's a middle-eastern accent.
Every nationality, race and religion is stereotyped all over the world. There's supposed "racist" jokes about pretty much everyone, and the media has been blowing it out of proportion.
Stereotypes exist because that's how we as humans can make sense of the world. You can't possible ask someone to view every one of the 6 billion people on earth as an individual, as our brains are not able to deal with that kind of information. Instead we generalise and st...
It's quite simple Arron, and a very valid argument. If everyone is treated as an equal, it's not discrimination, which is the case in this article. The author also acknowledges that everything after the disclaimer is purposely based on stereotypes, both racial and national.
If you can't laugh with stereotypes, that's your problem, but it's definitely not racist unless you fully support what you are saying. As such, saying "I hate black people" is...
The article, for as far as I can see, has racial/national stereotypes for almost every human being on the planet. As such, it doesn't single out one race, and the article is not offensive or racist at all. It also contains a disclaimer at the start of the article, so if you have a problem with stereotypes, that's where you should've stopped reading:
"Also you can blame society for teaching me these stereotypes. Some of it’s humorous, some of it is not. We mus...
That's fair enough. Keep an Open Mind, and perhaps forget that it's a DmC game for now. If you play it with the Mindset that it's going to be terrible, then it will be terrible to you.
@Imalwaysright
Unlike you, I actually work in Game Development, and have been at several different Studios, including Rare. The people that work on the game itself, e.g. the programmers, artists etc. are not there to make as much money as possible. If they were, they'd be working in the Investment Banking sector, as that pays much more, and is much easier than Game Development.
Game Development is a competitive, underpaid industry, and for that very reaso...
How can you say that without giving the game a chance? Do you even have an open mind for anything that deviates from the standard formula (Game called CoD gets a lot of hate for sticking to close to it..)? And even if it's a bad game, if one bad apple ruins your franchise, then maybe you're not much of a fan at all.
Doesn't mean everyone in the industry has dollar signs in their eyes. That's the job of producers, CEO's and Managers, not of the directors, designers, programmers and artists.
The latter only care about making an excellent product.
I normally don't refer to people like this, but the author of this article is an idiot. The developer states the number one rule of Game Design, and "Shak" from "Ps3center" goes on to say how wrong that rule is?
Good games are made because they're the type of games their developers would want to play.
@HeartDisease
Guess you were wrong..
@FunAndGun
The reason for that is really quite simple: Piracy. Due to the insane amount of piracy on the PC platform, it is not seen as a profitable end-goal for games. Most games exclusive to the platform end up making a loss, without even considering the larger investment required to make a game that's able to utilise the new hardware appropriately.
PC will get games, but they will not be exclusive. ...
It's not Deathmatch though, and I don't understand why a game has to "need" multiplayer in order to have it. If the Multiplayer is good, who cares if it was needed or not? It won't change your single player experience, as that's done by other people.
I was sceptical when I was watching the live stream, but watching the footage and understanding how the mode works, I think it may actually be good. We'll see how this develops, but it feels a lot less tagged-on than Mass Effect's multiplayer (not saying I didn't enjoy playing it though, it just felt like a different game).
I don't think Blizzard even needs a TV spot. Everybody's going to buy this game anyway :)
You misunderstood what I said. The franchises you mentioned are not directly associated with Xbox, whilst the third-party games I spoke about _are_ directly associated with Playstation.
With that I mean, to be clear, that the franchises have a symbolic meaning to the platform and its owners, where seeing the character automatically associated it with the platform. Like Mario and Nintendo.
As such, Sony has franchises such as Spyro and Crash Bandicoot, both of...
Whilst true for people, like you and me, that grew up with Nintendo, the same may not be the case for people that grew up with Playstation.
The reason for that is that there's a certain sense of nostalgia attached to those characters, and that's unique for everyone. It's also why a Xbox version doesn't seem like a good idea - the console(s) are too young for it, and many of their licenses are still seen as Nintendo games (Perfect Dark, Conker, Banjo)
Nah, they could always use the driver of the car from Forza, and have his special be that he enters his car and drives around with it, complete with realistic physics :D
"Imagine how many games could have been funded with that money, games made by new and up and coming developers. "
Being new, up and coming developers is synonymous with having a lack of funding. Most people are not willing to put money into people who haven't proven they can pull it off. These "new developers" may well be asking funding for a project that they never intend to complete, or think they can just come in and make a triple A game.
