RPG Site: Obviously you have it running in real time here, and I can see the PC right there - can you talk about what hardware you're using and how you feel it'll slot into what Sony and Microsoft are doing?

From your own link

"In most common use, server is a physical computer (a computer hardware system) dedicated to running one or more such services"

A server is only a piece of software in the case of client-server architectures, often used locally.

If you use to broad definition of a server, you're still incorrect - A server is a computerised process that shares a resource with a client process.

Lol at the troll article you posted. Not that it proves anything, so I'm not sure _why_ you posted it...

OnLive took 7 years to develop, from conceptualisation to functional system. Gaikai started development later, but development still took 3 years, with the concept already in place.

What does this mean? 3 Years of development for a platform is a long time, and there's two reasons as to why that might be:
1) The sy...

They're both playing catch-up to my highly advanced console that's able to run games in hyper realism. I just haven't revealed it yet. Regardless, they're playing catch up. Trust me.

A server is a computer, but not a PC. Whilst the terms Computer and PC have been used by the mainstream interchangeably, they do not mean the same thing.

"The technology isn't ... particularly difficult to do"

Lol, you have no idea how clueless you sound. The amount of technology that has to go in to a cloud gaming platform such as OnLive and Gaikai is extremely complex. It requires years of testing and refining to get it right, and that's even disregarding all the patents that Gaikai and OnLive have in the technology (there's far more to it than just video compression). You can't just "build one...

There's also many places in the world that hate Caucasians. Case in point, there are towns in China where white people are not allowed, with actual border patrol checking your car to ensure that you're not "smuggling in" any white people.

Hope that makes you feel better.

It was bought in shares valued at $380 million though, so there aren't any actual bills. If Sony were to go bankrupt, Gaikai's owners would earn absolutely nothing on this deal, and they're probably not allowed to leave the company or sell the shares for X number of years.

This.

Gaikai, if it's even coming to the PS3, will not serve as a replacement of Playstation software of any kind. It's an added feature which will, more likely than not, allow Ps3 gamers to play PC games on the console as well.

Did Netflix replace Blu-Ray playback? Did it replace DVD Playback?

I have to admit I'm confused - Did they pick her at the beginning of development and just announce her name now, or are they replacing whatever voice Lara has now with Mrs. Luddington's? I'd guess the first, but the article doesn't really make it clear..

"Do you really miss out on any of the experience of Mass Effect if you don't pursue one of the characters?"

Short Answer:
Yes.

Long answer:
The romance story in the background gives a much deeper understanding of just what's at stake - I just wouldn't have cared as much for the galaxy if it weren't for my characters romantic involvement with Liara.

Civilisation is something abstract, whilst a charact...

@3Gen

The technology is made by different people than those who design the games. That means that even if they gave the games SNES graphics, the gameplay would be equally poor.

This Tuesday? That's great :) I've been looking forward to this, and I'm quite surprised that it's coming so soon.

lol and there we go again, trying to find something offensive and sexist in something that doesn't have either of those two.

Showing tits in a game is _not_ sexist. A random woman being raped? So it's okay if Hollywood does it but not games? And a Poledancer? Wow, all these things are so far fetched that they can't be in media?

And honestly, I didn't notice a difference in the clothes worn by the girls on stage vs. the clothes worn by the girl...

CommonSense

Originality comes from combining a set of unoriginal concepts into something new. Three mutually exclusive unoriginal concepts can form an original concept if put together.

Name any game you deem "original", and I'll give you the preceding unoriginal concepts on which it was based.

Ps. Last of Us isn't scripted. You appear to be confusing "scripting" with "AI Behaviour".

5104d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

If I can play it on PC, it's not an exclusive, as I don't need an Xbox to play it, and it'll probably look and play better on PC as well.

Exclusive titles are those that I can't get on any other platform.

Give it a chance. Too little information in a scene often makes it seem worse than it actually is.

Bioware repeatedly said that EA had nothing to do with it though, so if you want to put the blame somewhere, put it on Casey Hudson, as he's the guy who wrote the ending without the input of his team-members.

5104d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

This debate is meaningless as the ending is not being changed. It's extended with more cutscenes and information, much like a director's cut in movies, something which certainly isn't something that has never happened before. Hell, Dragon Age: Origins extended its ending with 10 hours of gameplay in the form of Awakening.
