LastDance,

They don't come into play as the gunman also owned explosives and other illegally obtained weapons. He bought the guns legally because he could, not because he had to.

Like they do in U.K.

Problem is that gun crimes are far more common in the U.S. than they are in any other western country, as guns in Europe are far harder to obtain.

I don't believe gun laws had anything to do with this particular incident though.

The article posted by "The Examiner" is misleading, and leads you to believe that CNN reported that video games were to blame. What CNN actually said was that Video Games did not cause this incident, but the shooter may have used them to feel mentally ready to perform the act.

E.g. He used them as exercise, but he would have committed the crime regardless.

The comments are actually some of the most accurate I have seen coming from the mainstream me...

Did you even read what he said? It's pretty sensible. He clearly stated that Video Games do not make you a killer, but that there is a certain appeal to violent video games to killers, which is perfectly sensible.

@ChipChipperson
But the question remains - would people have to defend themselves 2,500,000 million per year in the U.S. if guns weren't available legally? Would as many criminals have access to guns or other deadly weapons if they weren't allowe...

Political Correctness is often derived from oversensitivity to issues. The same people who condemn Tomb Raider for an implied sexual advance against Lara's will are those that spend their days playing Call of Duty and other shooters, killing other humans without giving it second thought.

But wow it's offensive that a sex deprived man on an isolated island would want to have sex?

Over-sensitivity is what causes crap like this:

" It just goes to show that DICE can do much more but they won't because they are lazy like other developers. "

Really hate it when people say this. If they're so "lazy" as you call it, why don't you go ahead and show them how it's done? Creating a game is an insane amount of work, and time restrictions and deadlines further complicate the situations.

Furthermore, there are some hard limits that you won't be able to get...

Out-of-context quotes tend to have that effect, which is why the press loves them - they make for good headlines. Putting things back in context afterwards often shows that the intent of what was said was something very different from what the press made out of it.

People use it because others do, not because it's such a great system. It's better than MySpace, but it's still rubbish. Countless glitches hindering user experience, poor implementation of many features such as the chat, privacy issues and more recently, Timeline, ...

Are you trying to say Facebook isn't crap?

"Did you know MS saved Apple from bankruptcy and subsequently owned a stake?"
This was the result of the direct influence of Bill Gates. It was a deal agreed on between him and Steve Jobs - Microsoft as a company had little to do with it, Steve Ballmer even less.

Beside conspiracy theories, do you have any evidence of what you just said?

Also, why on earth would EA fire Ray Muzyka? That's committing corporate suicide - he and Greg are what make Bioware Bioware. That in turn is the reason EA bought the company in the first place.

Ah yes, EA told them to say that. Lol, sorry but I can't take that seriously. In fact, I'm not even sure if it's legal for a company to tell its employees to lie - I don't think it is.
