In regards to your quote

"include a depth camera that may capture a depth image of a scene" - That's what kinect does

use infared light “to determine a physical distance from the capture device to a particular location on the targets or objects in the scene.” - And that's how it does it.

I'm not sure why they only now filed a patent for it. It's technically the same as the Kinect.

"Thing is Drake isn't constantly doing sexy things, nor does he have an unlockable thong outfit. "

Neither does Elena, or Chloe. Nariko didn't have one, and I don't recall Shepard having one.

You have to keep things in context, and consider that portrayal of any characters in games is the result, not cause, of societies principles, where thanks to the Fashion Industry a bigger emphasis on looks for females is created. Games are products...

Response time isn't why Siri is on a server, as that can be done just as quick on a local computer. It's the dataset that needs a lot of space, which phones don't have. I'd imagine it's more feasible on Xbox and Playstation.

Great post, I completely agree with everything you said but this:

"A woman getting paid less for doing the same or more work than a man is something to b*tch about. "
Whether her lower pay grade is something to b*tch about is debatable, as you have to consider the risk of investment. There's a good chance a woman you employ will get pregnant sometime during her employment. That money you'll have to pay her in the time she is absent has to come from s...

I'll give you the characters, two of them, which seem rather similar.

Settings? It's set in a jungle, snow and in mines - none of those settings were unique to uncharted, nor is the visual style unique to uncharted.

If it weren't for the characters, I sincerely doubt we'd even be discussing this.

It's amusing to see that everybody agrees on the fact that this is a rip-off, but no-one really agrees with what it's a rip-off of.

I don't really see how this is a rip-off at all. Visual Style is similar, but the gameplay looks quite different from Uncharted. (or Far Cry, or CoD).

Hey I've got an idea guys, how about instead of calling every new IP that isn't innovative a rip-off, we instead try out the game and see if we enjoy it?

Guy's a producer. You'd get a very different answer from a technical lead.

High clock speed isn't even always a good thing. To achieve it, engineers divide the processor pipeline into smaller and smaller submodules all performing some very simple quick tasks.

This means a memory fetch has a much larger impact on the pipeline, reducing throughput and thus performance. This is why Pentium 4 processors were so rubbish lol.

So not o...

No Bioware, Naughty Dog, Quantic Dream or Rocksteady games... Meh. Can't say I'm looking forward to any of the games on that list. Haven't even finished Assassins Creed: Brotherhood yet..

I find it amusing that male journalists have lately been spending all of their time writing articles about how attractive/sexy female characters in games are sexist against women, and all the female journalists have been posting articles like this one.

lol, nope. These specs are fabrications.

It's well written and even better delivered, but I already have two MMOs, and in combination with every other MMO I've played I'm really cautious about anything that has a monthly subscription fee. Reason being that during the first few hours every MMO feels rather fresh, but after X amount of hours playing they all feel exactly like WoW.

I'll wait for this to go F2P and give it a shot then.

To be fair, the fact that they even had to play it in slow motion to prove that it was actually happening shows it's a subtle effect that was meant to add realism to the character's body, not to give a bunch of guys a boner.

Boobs aren't made of stone - they move slightly if the woman does, especially if they're bigger.

Screen tearing is a technical problem. Jiggling boobs is not. One is easy to do, the other is not - I'll let you guess which is which.

I can't really see how. Just because they dress like nuns, does not mean they are nuns, which is why I don't see what's offensive about it.

When the whole controversy began, I hadn't seen the trailer yet. I looked it up, started watching it, and I did not understand what everyone was on about until I read someone saying "violent nuns are offensive".

It's an unfinished game - at the stage of this build, it's all about functionality, not visuals. A lot of animations appear to be missing, effects appear to be non-existent and it's very rough around the edges. Nothing unexpected.
