"In other words, last year's leak helped prove something that people in the video game industry just don't seem to understand: Knowledge isn't harmful."
It sold because it's Call of Duty, not because of groundbreaking story telling, incredible surprises or unique gameplay. E.g. Call of Duty's sales really don't prove anything.
Would you want the internet knowing every plot twist in a movie or game that is yet to come out? Th...
Didn't even know they were going to use that. If they are, then that's great - no more hours wasted to get all the outfits just to find everything is gone the next time you start the game :D.
looking forward to see how this turns out. Loved the 4th title on Xbox, but it corrupted my save game when I'd almost won all the outfits. Hope a similar issue doesn't pop up in this one.
"So how did I do the same?"
Because you're painting a product as doomed (laughable) before it's had it's time to shine (thanks to newfound support by Valve).
Also
"Because Linux desktop distributions are not usually distributed by retail sale like other operating systems, there are no sales numbers that indicate the number of users. One downloaded file may be used to create many CDs and each CD may be used to insta...
"people and figures paint a product as a doom before it has come out or has it's time to shine"
"Well that doesn't make sense as Linux holds less than 1% of the market so it's kinda laughable. "
Isn't that like hypocritical, considering you just did the same as the people you complain about?
" His action would not all of a sudden convert consumers to change OS."
You'd be surprised.. When Halo released for Xbox, PC gamers suddenly converted to console. Who's to say that PC gamers will not likewise run Linux in a dual boot system to play Half Life 3?
How about Diablo 3? You really think a free OS is going to keep people from playing it?
Ps3 wasn't a threat to Steam though..

"I would like to hear why people think certain OS are crap?"
I think all versions of Windows are crap.
They're unstable, convoluted, difficult to develop for, incredibly slow to use, inefficient, need a regular re-install, they force a Graphical Interface on you (as the command line is terrible), it's the worst operating system when it comes to security due to the way they're structured, they're expensive, ...
Solution: Use the gnome fallback. It's incredibly easy to do so, and there's loads of guides that tell you how if you don't know yourself - it's copy paste.

Software Support =/= A good operating system.
Many of the linux distributions are far more efficient than Windows, and that's without even mentioning far better stability and ease of development. When's the last time you have heard of a Blue Screen of Death on Linux? Or anything equivalent? How about viruses? How many can you name for Linux that install themselves?
Did you know it's a lot easier to develop on and for Lin...
That's what I said though...
Mind Controlled games would work differently from either of those two.
The whole idea of controlling a game with your mind is that it's natural, to convince your mind that you are that character, and those are your limbs. Research has shown that this is surprisingly easy to achieve.
If the user has to train their brain to utilize the device, the device is not ready for the market.
Raymond's idea of what the future will hold is the same idea I hold. Controllers are a huge barrier when it comes to immersion, and take the gamer away from the world they're playing in.
That said, I dislike the Kinect as a gaming device. This is because, as much as Microsoft likes to market it as immersive controller free gaming, it isn't truly controller free, nor is it immersive. It tries to be both, but it's failing at it, because the technology does not g...
I'm sorry, but I can't agree with censoring any of the mentioned themes, nor do I agree with most of what the author has written.
"Just look at the majority of female characters in games. They’re busty babes that serve as a goal"
"Developers can barely get your standard female character right, never mind tackling something like feminism, or portraying women as actual people."
Honestly hasn't gone out much has he? I find...
"Why is that so difficult for some developers/publishers to understand!?"
This question was answered before you even asked it.
“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” - Henry Ford
I thought that was considered a spin-off though, not part of the trilogy
"Lord of Shadow 2 concluding not only the trilogy"
Am I missing something here? How is it a trilogy with just 2 games?
And for that, a premium version of the product can be made available, but for many android users, a free version with ads is a must.
It's a matter of understanding the type of market you're dealing with. People using iOS are generally more willing to pay a premium price, where as Android users are more likely to have no problem with in-game advertisements. Gear your development and market strategy to that, and don't expect android users to pay upfront - they won't.
The fact that Wonderbook has J.K. Rowlings support with the Harry Potter franchise makes it potentially the biggest seller of the Christmas season, and indeed a system mover. It's not surprising they would market the crap out of it.
