Yes, it takes a bit to set up, but runs emulators up to PS2 really well. Can run Gamecube games with AA and above 1080p at 60fps. It's a fantastic emultion machine.

The one Castlevania game you could argue is even better than Symphony. Aria was a GBA masterpiece.

I don't think it would be very easy at all for them to do though. The backwards compatibility project by Microsoft was a huge undertaking, and I'd bet licensing for every game on Game Pass is constant work and money spent.

I imagine that maybe 20 years from now, AI will be able to generate enjoyable games based on parameters that users want. Music, movies and animation as well. Cohesive stories, gameplay, everything. You'll be able to generate shareable seeds and modify at will if you have the ability to do so.

They made piss-poor hardware decisions that made it both too expensive to produce AND too expensive/inconvenient for the consumer (propietary memory on consumer end). Aside from that, Sony didn't make the proper effort to use their IP in ways that complimented hand-held game sessions. Instead of rectifying the situation when the Vita wasn't doing well, they decided it wasn't worth it. At least Nintendo drastically reduced the price of the 3DS, offered new models, and continued to ...

Sony took the entire wrong approach with the hardware, as much as I like my Vita. It didn't need cameras, probably could have gotten rid of the back touch pad to also reduce costs, and by God, the propietary memory alone probably killed it. So worried about piracy, they could have doubled down on software security and reduced costs, to make sure to sell more units. A small percentage of modders aren't going to break your sales if it's widely successful. Now, the only reason to own...

That era was before wide-spread high-speed internet though. The only way to obtain much of that information was through G4, gaming magazines and some online forums. Now you're subscribed directly to developer and company social media and have instant information directly. I loved E3 back in the day, but it's just completely obsolete now.
Man, old G4 was great though. I miss X-Play, AotS and Code Monkeys xD

The combat really clicks on the highest difficulty setting, and almost seems it was designed around it. You have to play very carefully.

Most new games are still coming out on PS4 and Xbox One as well lol. Even if anyone in the industry had ideas for games that could only run on the highest end console hardware, are they even going to get made? Rarely do companies take risks with boundary breaking games that push hardware anymore. They see it as too expensive and we've all been stuck with familiarity for a long time now.
Anyways, that didn't stop games like Forza and Flight Simulator from looking absolutely in...

I think Microsoft understands that poor working conditions led to the whole situation that allowed them to purchase Activision in the first place. Allowing for unionization will cost them more money, but definitely benefits them in other ways. One, it's a great PR move to show that they're going to change the company. It also can help renew customer and employee faith in them. Two, if you want good talent, content employees and creativity, they need to be paid well and have security i...

This is one that makes me wish I had a PS5. Tango make some awesome games. The Evil Within 2 was one of the most slept-on titles of all last gen.

A major problem with that is there are multiple different endings to the game, that all change the world drastically in different ways. Any added story content would have to be before you choose an ending. I'd like to see Miquella content, a new area, new NPC quests. Expanded multiplayer options to keep people playing.

One of the most underappreciated games of all last generation I feel.

If you don't like it, don't buy it; Don't even play the free parts. Anything free is still making money but selling personal data. If it's an awful experience, educate others and offer recommendations for other games. Most companies with shareholders are going to end up beholden to them and no one else. When that company loses their way and stops making the games that older fans liked, someome else will eventually step up and fill that space, as long as the demand is there. Li...

Instead of a limit, I'd like to be able to choose WHICH games to have in quick resume. Multiplayer games are kind of pointless, because you have to log back in anyways, or games like Elden Ring where you'll lose connection to the server. If I could choose a handful of single player games to be the only ones to utilize quick resume, it'd be great when switching back to them.

Write it down lol. This is a Souls game lol; I bet they had arguments on whether or not to even implement an interactive map xD.
The design choices and story in their games are intentionally obtuse. You either love it or don't.
I kinda miss games like this. Ever play Morrowind? You get a quest and an NPC is like "Find the hidden ancient ruins deep within a mountain, far to the East." Then you spend a week trying to find it. Good times.

The only Souls game that has run pretty much perfectly since launch was SotFS, and even then the 60fps broke the weapon durability lol, since it was tied to the animation frames. Despite performance, every game they've released since Dark Souls are all considered some of the greatest ever made, so they're still doing something right I suppose.
People have been complaining about their optimization since WAY before Demon's Souls.
I dunno. The only AAA games I'...

I'm playing on Series S with VRR, and it's easily one of the smoothest experiences I've had this gen, and one of the best games I've ever played in my life at this point. Have seen a few frame drops, but not a single crash, which is more than I can say for literally any other game since this gen has released. Seriously, new games crash way too often.
