I think cutting edge tech in VR goes alot further than having better graphics for video games. The Quest 2 is wireless, and has many applications beyond gaming. Also, very easy to plug into PC.
This. Having VR exclusive versions of games on PSVR2, that also have PC versions. They'll get modded for VR support by the community in days. People in the VR community are generally by no means casual, and are familiar and versed in modding, emulation, etc. If Sony is going a route that will only work with their hardware, they are going to have no choice but to deliver amazing experiences.
Difference with the Quest, is that it's easily compatible with PCs, completely wireless, and very easy to enable developer/debug mode to do whatever the hell you want with it. People are working on 3D stereoscopic versions of emulators for Quest right now, and there are tons of mods and unofficial games that are released. Along with other applications for the hardware, like social functions, media, work space related, creation with 3D tools, art, etc. No one is putting as much money into ...
That game is such a SNES gem. I know there have been many Goemon games after, but none were nearly that cool or fun, especially from a multiplayer standpoint. I have very fond memories of playing that game with my brother all the time when we were little.
Give it fifteen years, AI will generate media content in general at will. Movies, shows, books, anime, video games, you name it.
I've had a Series X, a Series S and a PS5. The only reason I touch my Xbox lately is to play certain games with friends that are on that platform. Much more time spent on PS5, Switch and VR. Western developed games this year have been broken, sparse and not very good lol. Release great games and people will pay for it. The way for GP to succeed, is to make it a no brainer, or foolish as an Xbox owner to NOT have it.
FF14 is political as well, but the story is also very, very good. Alot of the people that worked on FF Tactics and 14 are on this game, which I think is amazing.
And if we keep asking SE for a FF9 remake, you'll get that love story lol.
Yoshi P probably single handedly saved the entire franchise. FF was circling the drain after the troubled developments of 14 and 15. Guy is gonna down down as an industry legend.

This game isn't locked at 30fps. It can't even hit 30fps. None of the problems stemming from this game were from new hardware. It was developed as last-gen, and they couldn't get it to run, so they moved to newer machines, and it still barely runs. Drops to low 20s constantly. It's an unfinished game.
I think that was them telling the original VA to F off, for one reason or another. No way did the new VA accept that offer. She's much more well known in the industry.
I think it's more likely that they just wanted to replace her for some reason. There's no way that Jennifer Hale took that offer, considering she's far more experienced.
Nintendo doesn't own Platinum, they're just publishing/funding the game. I'm sure they're probably not too happy about all this stuff at the moment. If this hurts sales of the game, Platinum is never going to see Nintendo money again, that's for damn sure. Nintendo does not F around with stuff like that.
I play any games I'm able to with Japanese audio anyways. They didn't change her Japanese VA, and I'm sure they paid more for Hale than the original actress. This wasn't about trying to lowball her, it's that they didn't want her doing the character anymore period, for one reason or another.
Also, I'm sure they offered Hale much more than $4000 lol. It definitely seems like they absolutely wanted the original VA gone for one reason or another, and just offered her the lowest amount of money they possibly could instead of firing her, due to contractual reasons.
I don't think it's the consoles that are the problem with this one.
I don't think it's about playing at 30fps. I have no problem with that, and often choose fidelity modes unless it feels like a detriment to the gameplay. It's more like the lack of an option is concerning, because the only reason for it when it's standard now, is that they weren't able to make it run. Means this game probably has some major problems under the (red) hood.
Bold of you to assume this game will run well on PC either lol. I mean, brute force maybe if you have a great card, but the writing is on the wall that this game is not optimized well.
If you're looking for an affordable headset to work with PC, might as well just get a Quest 2. Much smaller, better display, no cameras and comes with controllers. Also games are starting to get support for hand gestures, so no controllers needed for some games and general menu navigation.
