Assuming the next Nintendo console isn't a Switch 2 that is backwards compatible, which is the most logical thing they could do.
This year is the 35th anniversary. They're planning on collections/HD releases/etc.
The Switch is great and all, but the SNES for its time just had everything.
Skyrim on Series X looks so damn good with mods. Actually kind of hilarious that it's one of the best looking games on console right now lol.
Oh snap!
Witcher 3 was not good at launch either, and they had to patch it dozens of times. No one seems to remember how angry everyone was when they heavily downgraded the graphics of the game from what was initially shown either. I still enjoyed the hell out of it, as I did with Cyberpunk, but Witcher 3 at launch was ROUGH. Broken quests, bugs galore, poor horse and character movement, frame dips and freezes, even save file corruptions by simply using the suspend feature. It was a much different fee...
Still a fantastic adventure, but I'd say it's more so the most important game ever made, rather than the best. It laid the foundation for 3D adventure games so well that everything it did right is still a mainstay in the industry today. Before OoT, there really wasn't large, open scale 3D games on console, context sensitive buttons, enemy targeting that locks the camera, etc. The cinematography in the cutscenes is still phenomenal. Every adventure game since has had to live in its...
Interesting and appealing hardware design, and very strong IP. Doesn't take black magic lol. Look at Switch software sales, namely BotW, Mario Kart 8, Smash, Pokemon and Animal Crossing. They're astronomical.
As much as I love Nintendo's first-party offerings, best games is subjective. Sony's first party are also some of the best around. A person can love both Zelda and God of War.
The visual upgrade is not worth the drop in FPS.
You know who would have made an amazing Star Wars game, if EA hadn't shut them down? Visceral Studios.
I'm trying to rack my brain now to think of who could make the best multi-platform Star Wars game.
More crafting (weapons, arrows, armor, etc), and a world/village building element. Farming, animal raising, etc. Persistent world like Animal Crossing (not sure if ever been done on such a scale, or if even possible given the tech). Traditional fishing! Dungeons, and more elemental variety to shrines.
I'm totally okay with that. Zack is the shit lol.
And how often do you eat at 5 star restaurants?
It's also on track to become one of the highest selling consoles of all time. Watch those hardware sales in Japan come March, when Monster Hunter releases.
I'm actually enjoying going back to some older games that I gave up on initially when playing on a base Xbox One model. I bought Fallout 4 at launch, and really didn't like it. Graphics, resolution, responsiveness just made for a poor experience. Playing it again on Series X with mods, and I've found an entirely new appreciation for the game. Yeah, I'd love some new games to play, but I'm still enjoying the hell out of what I have now.
Came here to say the same. Very easy to mod, and one of the best handhelds to do so with.
Letting people sell their own mods for the hard work they do is awesome. There's nothing wrong with that. If someone feels like their work is worth monetization, and people agree enough to pay for it, good for everyone. Definitely incentivizes putting in quality work from pros. Granted, if someone wants to give their work away for free, good on them for that too. Although, I don't think publishers should take any percentage of sales, other than what is necessary for transactions.
Skyrim on Series X is amazing with mods. Using graphics pack, lighting, AI overhauls, water mods, character replacements, weather, sound effects, new dialogue, etc. It genuinely looks stunning.
Would be great for Dark Souls 3.
