Streaming is inferior, this is very true. Mp3s are also very inferior to analog audio and FLAC, but most people don't care. The question is whether or not it will catch on with mainstream audiences. They want money, not the adoration of core gamers like you see on sites like this one. They're probably honestly hoping more casuals sign up for their service. They still get the money, and have to stream far less when they hardly ever use it.
Second party, I believe, concerning LA and Yoshi. Nintendo contracts out often. First party would either be developed by EPD or by a studio that Nintendo fully owns, like Retro Studios. But anyways! Link's Awakening is great. Go buy it.
Blizzcon is going to be a nightmare lol. Can't wait.
It is a damn fine controller. I was pretty surprised how crappy the dualshock's joysticks felt in comparison after I bought my PS4. I've had one of my Xbox controllers for five years now. I've taken it apart for cleaning, sticking buttons, etc, but it still works great.
Less third party multi-platform support, yes. If the install base is there, and the software sales warrant it, could see a continued growth of third-party exclusives.
FFIX remake in 2030?
Couldn't reply to a comment above; MachineGames actually develops the newer Wolfenstein Games, not id. id have always been great devs.
The season pass is included in the purchase of Shadowkeep. Not that I think it should have one at all, but the pass was enabled for me when I bought Shadowkeep for $35. I assume that whenever someone buys the expansion, they're going to give them the season pass for that respective season. It's a MMO subscription basically, which most MMO games have. Most people don't like them, millions do. As long as they keep creating content, people will pay to play. I'm just saying I did ...
I believe Shadowkeep is $35, not $60.
Any game you play online is collecting psychological and personal data about you, extrapolated from how and when you play, and selling it. Not that it makes it any better, it's just foolish to think that anyone who uses the internet regularly has any privacy, unless they're incredibly careful and educated on security.
If you like grinding MMO mechanics, heavy sci-fi, and great shooting mechanics, then you would find the game fantastic. I enjoy it greatly.
Dark Goose
Diablo Immortal was very, very poorly received, and their fan base does not want to see mobile games for Blizz franchises.
Lots of live services. WoW, Hearthstone, Overwatch. All online games. They do update them constantly, but not everyone wants those types of experiences.
This game, I believe, is most likely going to feel completely unfinished. I don't think Game Freak is a large or talented enough studio for quality, modern 3D games. Especially not yearly. It's too big of a franchise; We'll never see a delay due to the anime/merch/movies/toys/etc. I think at this point they should reboot the franchise and eliminate the filler. Will never happen though. Too much $$$ in it from kids.
1080p screen and 60fps on handheld sounds like a nightmare for a battery lol. When games are running full 720p on the small screen, it's still pixel perfect and looks fantastic. I'd rather that, with longer battery and less heating issues in a hypothetical pro version. Although I feel it's more likely that a pro version might be a home console only version, no screen. Bigger fan, no battery, more storage. Very small, like a mini NES.
Headline isn't truly accurate. Basically, additional work was put into the game to make it run differently on Switch , not that the hardware is running the game better. They could have gone back and done additional sprite work to the other versions as well possibly, but chose not to. Could have been too costly, or difficult to patch without rebuilding the game, as they were already doing for the Switch version.
Anyways, been said already, just reiterating if someone missed.
Not true, N64 and PS1 had entirely different hardware limitations, which led to how the games were developed. Games like OoT would have never worked on Playstation back then. Same with the space requirements concerning FF7-9. Those games would have been entirely different on N64. Both great consoles.
Wondering if the Switch version will stay up to date with patches. If Blizzard is smart, they will be creating many Nintendo exclusive legendary skins for the game
Skyward Sword deserves a director's cut. It was held back by the wii's limitations, and there were some poor design choices. Remove all handholding that stops game play every two seconds. Make transitions from differing areas seamless, as in remove loading screens between Skyloft and your bird. Shorten some of the quests. Other than that, the game had a beautiful world, best story in a Zelda game to date, and great puzzles. The whole game felt like one large dungeon. It needs a remake...
