EA has made it pretty apparent that they just want the mass market kind of money that casual gamers spend, people who just buy Madden, CoD every year and soccer moms who spend way too much on mobile transactions. They probably despise the diehard gaming community by now, considering how hard they've been getting torn into, and educated buyers not only don't buy their shit, they teach others not to as well. I wouldn't be surprised if EA strikes back soon and launches a PR campaign ...
Zidane is the man, and FFIX still stands as the finest game in the series.
4K adoption rates are still very low. Try a gaming PC if resolution is that important.
You also have to factor in how much Nintendo wants to invest into creating their games. Pushing the boundaries of graphics is actually a problem I have with the entire industry right now, and why most AAA games coming out are riddled with DLC and MT. The graphics that people want to see are just too expensive to take risks with.
LoL, Battelfront.
I've only had it get really warm while docked during a marathon Zelda session, and even then it wasn't alarmingly hot by any means. If you ever get one, a decent glass screen protector is a must though.
Doom has been patched alot since it first released. It's on version 6.66 now, which was a huge patch. It gave all the multiplayer DLC for free, new maps, new progression system, rune system, etc. Despite the lower performance (which is a given, considering it's running on a mobile chip, which is still very impressive), it's still a better game than it was at its launch.
This also shows a major problem with game reviews. Unless critics are willing to go back and re-review ...
Word. I've never made fun of someone for their choice of hardware. That's just retarded.
That's what happens when you're releasing a game in a series so often, outside of sports and FPS. It stagnates. I feel like Horizon 3 literally just came out. Hopefully Microsoft is getting the message and really puts their effort into taking their time with games, and securing more exclusives.
Also, how old are you again?
Unfortunately, it's a billion dollar industry, and companies exist to make profit. If it wasn't profitable, all we'd have would be crowd sourced small indies made in working peoples' spare time.
I think reviewers have a bit of a hard time covering VR games, considering how many get sick when they play lol.
Brought my Switch into work this week to show off a few games to work mates that have expressed interest in the console. 4 of them told me they were planning on grabbing one Black Friday. Almost everyone I've met who holds it in their hands for themselves has been very impressed. I believe it's still selling very well, and Nintendo has managed to get a hold of the supply situation. They did say they have manufacturers opening supply lines for them.
Dude, the Witcher 3 was one of the most generous games ever for the price. They were vocal with the community, patched it consistently, free DLC, etc. The physical copy of the game came with a map, stickers, booklet and a Keychain. Don't knock them xD
The amount of quality independent games is higher than it's ever been, and companies nowadays have many ways to directly interact with their audience almost instantaneously. I agree that a good portion of the AAA market is going to shit, but there are still many, many fantastic games to be played.
To me, BotW was beautiful, silent, engaging and quite melancholy. I found the game to be breathtaking. Odyssey, however...I haven't had that much fun playing a game since I was a kid. I had a big shit eating grin on my face through the entire end scenario. Brilliant game, and I feel Mario deserves GoTY.
Underground 2 was such a good game.
EA has dicked over gamers too many times this year. The Mass Effect fiasco, to screwing over Respawn with Titanfall 2, the shutting down of Visceral Studios and then Battlefront loot boxes. It's hard to believe they can get any worse, but I'm sure it will happen.
Overwatch has no progression system, and introduces new characters and stages for free. Blizzard has patched the game constantly since release. The loot boxes are cosmetic, and I'd say the only people paying for them are fanatics who HAVE to have a new character skin when it releases.
Yes, all of them. I could name at least 40 awesome games on the Wii that you probably never bothered to play.
People tend to forget that some humans are broken and will literally kill you for the smallest reason imaginable. It happens every day. Online death threats should be taken seriously.
Those games make publishers millions. It's easier to put out the same crap and market the hell out of it than make something new. We see the same thing every year. Drop hundreds of millions in advertising, promising that it's going to be a different and better experience, and then deliver another steaming pile of dogshit. TV commercials work every time. They know exactly what they're selling and plan this shit out years in advance
