Monster Hunter: World is a fantastic game with incredible production values, and doesn't take away from the fact that there are still other great MH games to play as well. I've been playing MH since PS2.
I wonder if you ever get laid lol.
Thanks man. Nintendo doesn't decide the price of games they don't develop and publish lol.
Give it time. World was in development for 5 years, before they even knew the Switch existed. Capcom doesn't really have unlimited resources. The 3DS Monster Hunters were of very little risk to them, as they were able to be developed using the same engines and smaller budgets. Fans asked for Monster Hunter on Switch, and they did what they could to make it happen. If it sells well, I'm sure they'll want more titles on the system. Capcom seems to be doing better by fans now than th...
Monster Hunter is the literal opposite of a casual gaming experience; I don't know what you're talking about lol.
Also, the goal post for "casual" gaming can be moved by anyone. If you consider some of my friends' opinions, you're casual if you play anything but Korean MMOs and space simulators lol.
Screw you man, I still play my 3DS. A good game is a good game. Also, the Switch's screen only outputs at 720p. Monster Hunter is great regardless on what console it's on. World was great and this is gonna kick ass too.
The combat in Witcher 3 shines when played on Death March. Button mashing will just get you looking at a loading screen.
Sales in itself doesn't necessarily determine raw profit. You'd have to consider how much was spent on development, advertisement, shipping/distribution, etc. Monster Hunter sold very, very well on 3DS (about 17 million copies across 3 titles if you include updated versions), and when Capcom felt it was right to bring it back to consoles, that's what they did. Remember, up until very recently, Capcom hasn't been in the greatest spot financially. They even needed help funding S...
It is on the PS4. It also sold very well on Xbox, and will sell very well on PC. If every game was a PS4 exclusive, there would be no competition, and the video game market would go to shit.
The real lesson learned is that fans appreciate when a developer makes a real quality game with no MT bullshit. MH:W was in development for something like 5 years, and it shows.
Redefine, or attempt to finish?
I'd say BC is a great effort IN preserving the past, for sure, but I don't think they're really leading anything at the moment. I do love the feature though, and making Xbox more like PC, and backwards/forwards compatible across all generations going forward is probably the direction they'll be taking, and will set them apart from the other console makers. Not that they'll necessarily be leading anything, but the effort is appreciated.
It's up to art style to really make something look beautiful. You can push polygons and lighting, but in the end, without a great art direction, it will look like crap a few years down the line. Witcher 3 is a great example of fantastic art direction. Games like Okami and Wind Waker as well, which can be modernized with just a resolution boost and new lighting (Wind Waker HD).
Another example would be BotW. Beautifully crafted, but a bit held back in the hardware department. Nex...
"Direct consumer spending on mobile games was more than one-third higher than the spending total on consoles, PC/Mac, and handhelds combined." Hardcore gamers are a very small portion of the entire market. Mobile games suck, but it's a no brainer for a company to want their IP on that platform.
I was going to get the Switch version, but I'm afraid I can't wait for that now :/
I doubt any game designer with talent would support your opinion.
Although Resident Evil 4 is one of my all-time favorite games, and probably one of the best ever made, it is still a product of its time. 13 years ago, many ideas in 3D gaming could still be new, as developers were still very limited by console hardware. Its did influence game design greatly. To my knowledge, it was the first game that incorporated an over the shoulder style for a 3D shooter, and used ideas and camera tricks that no one had seen before. This however should not take away from ...
It sucks, but I don't think adults are their core targeted audience for Pokemon, as much as I've wanted that exact thing.
One of, for sure. Games like Chrono Trigger still exist though lol.
It's running on mobile, so probably pretty well. Epic are experts at their engine.
Say goodbye to any retail that isn't Walmart or Amazon within ten years.
