What do you think the "GPU Driver" is?
@caddytrek
He also thinks that VRS is an XBox exclusive feature and goes out his way to state it 🤨
*Doesn't read article.
*Skips to comment section instead.
*Looks for a narrative that fits belittling one thing and making another look better.
*Finds said narrative to try and fit into by copy/pasting and trying to appear technical.
Yeah, maybe fact-check peers before believing what they say cause it appears agreeable based on bias. This is why comments like this are constantly copy/pasted and recieve so much negative attention. Spreading m...

"If the SSD doesn't put data into ram then what is RAM for?"
Well, the SSD has RAM-like capability but that's limited. Current RAM is still so much faster that it's beneficial to keep using it. But, with this level of speed and throughput throughout the system, it can act like RAM for certain cases. Not viable replacement across the board. One step at a time.
@Echo_
What do you think the GPU driver is?
You know that they already stated the SSD is capable of acting as RAM in *certain* cases, right? RAM exists because of its speed. If an SSD is fast enough, it can do the same thing if the interface allows it, and it does.
Thing is. Almost no one is sitting here and stating the SSD makes it have better graphics. People are just tired of seeing the flood of copy/paste statements detracting from the SSD topic where no ones talking otherwise. So, if you think the downvotes are always disagreements, it's sometimes just people tired of the same old posts that people post for the hell of it. The SSD IS the most exciting upgrade. Both consoles have an SSD. People feel the need to downplay the SSD aspect because PS...
What? Why wouldn't graphics data be sent to the GPU?
You're on some secret sauce if you keep being so petty to copy/paste the same message in every article without any coherent statement to disprove the benefits.
Oh well
Max frequencies are a specification standard. They aren't some unattainable number. Max clock speed will be reached constantly, and has been stated as such. The system simply lowers clock speed when a game isn't demanding enough. Your performance will still be the same 30fps/60fps framerate and the same graphics as the game was designed. But, if the games graphics are basic then it won't require max clock speed to run it. This has no negatives to it. Only positives because of effi...
Don't confuse gaming performance with GPU and CPU clock performance.
Just because the GPU clock may lower in a 2D or a basic 3D game doesn't mean it's performing "worse" in gaming, because to your eyes the game is still the same framerate and graphical fidelity. That's the point. Would you drive your car near redline in a different gear to go 60mph or go to a lower gear to get the same result with less wasted resources?
All this ...
@Donnie81
Performance is performance.
Why would we wonder how far it can drop? He said it stays max clock all but ~1-2% of the time. Dropping isn't an issue. It's a smart feature so the console doesn't run high clocks if it doesn't need to. This gives more power delivery to what needs it, like the GPU when it gets a sudden request for more power. It won't cause frame-pacing, stutter, or skipping in events where the power draw rises bec...
Even when it can still meet the same frequencies if it were fixed or not? There's no inherently better solution for max performance. Max performance is just a spec. But, variable is technically superior because you're not wasting resources to meet a framerate, and improves longevity of hardware. As well as providing another measure for devs to notice that a scene still has more headroom
@LegendaryKingofGames
Chill out, Chris12.
I agree with this point. You have a large budget for an actor? Find the next big one and make someones dream happen.
@Chris12
"You're more interested in fanning the war by trolling Xbox at every opportunity and repeating the same crap over and over to make you feel better about your choice. Kids will be kids."
Have you read your own comments? You're replying to absolutely anything trying to start nonsense with blatant lies. XBox is due for a ton of criticism. A LOT. Accept it. People are tired of it. Doesn't mean they are wrong just because it'...
@naruga
I think movies should stop using actors. They should use original concept art born characters. It's not like actors are cast for a role that interviews find them fitting for.
Increasing console power with "the cloud". Is different from streaming a game where it's entirely cloud based. One is streaming video and inputs. The other is a very intricate and expensive method that requires server syncing with your console software and greatly affects game mechanics to be designed around server capabilities and your personal internet. MS obviously doesn't have PSNow hardware. The partnership is basically Sony's own PSNow servers having allotted secto...
@TheAquanox
"Point is, both of them can sustain their max clocks for hours with no issues. PS5 CAN'T. It will have to balance clocks in order to meet heat/power limitations. Keep in mind PS5 is clocked very high when running @peak, and unless it has a watercooling solution (which doesn't) it wont be able to sustain this safely"
Give me one single shred of evidence for your claim. The consoles limit is based on power. But, this is the cas...
