It's only a few months from release. No game drastically changes graphics this close to release. You can fix a few pop in issues, but the underlying graphics are low res textures, very simple and boxy geometry, and lacking models.

Nope. Ray-tracing shouldn't take this long to implement for a game that is supposedly built from the ground up for next gen and running on PC hardware representative of SX hardware. They just talk too much and don't deliver.

It's the same architecture, and 10x the TFlops of last gen. The learning curve is very small, and current assets should be a breeze to improve on the SX. This isn't the same start of a gen where it's hard to get more out of the boxes. Yes, more time with it will yield better results, but this isn't an excuse here. Many have pointed out the pop ins and low res textures, and I'm more disappointed at how low poly and simple they designed many of the assets to fit in for last ...

I'm sorry, what console was this article about? Why are you pampering the rumor bin too?

This just shows that he's not a gamer.

He doesn't understand what a launch line-up is. A launch line-up is a release schedule of games at a consoles launch. Not a BC list of all games the system supports.

"technically he isn't wrong".. Well, he kinda is. These aren't games launching alongside the console.

There's a difference between objective evidence and surface level comparison

On the surface? Yeah, solid state media is better. But, on Nintendo's own site it says 60-95MB's for the storage speed. We don't know the exact specs, but modern HDD's get similar speeds to this tidbit on Nintendo's own site. These SD cards are not actually that much faster. They tend to get about 100 MB/s, and we don't know if this 95MB/s Nintendo listed is the max effe...

You need to brush up on the FTC. Claims can not be misleading or unsubstantiated. Payment to devs would count as advertisement. Paid endorsements must also reflect the product properly.

You also have to tell people you're sponsored when you're being sponsored. Otherwise, the company faces legal issues.

Funny that Dirt will have 120fps but this game supposedly can't.

An opinion requires some form of information or explanation when it comes to technology and practical device. They did show the back of the DualSense... Geoff Keighley showed it. Where in what possible world could you guess they would switch to disposables?

Tired of seeing fake opinions flooding every article and the ridiculous "analysts" here. You don't even listen to what people say to you. You act like you care when something...

Fake copy and paste opinion. You've been disproven already. What's your fake concern say about yourself? If you're not here to converse with others, AKA take in information and give a real opinion of your own, then don't be here at all. Your comment is Spam. You've nothing to gain here except some false feeling of being a part of an elitist group over a plastic box. If it were so certain that your box preference were great, then you wouldn't be yacking fake info and a...

No on said the SSD makes up for TFlops. The SSD coincides with the TFlops.

Would you want a 20TFlop machine with an HDD? A slow storage device that would cripple that large TFlop number, because the scene could only be a certain size to accomodate the HDD's slow speed. The scene having to be a lower size to ensure that it can reach the RAM before pop ins, stuttering, and frame-pacing issues. Which means the scene is more simple, less populated, and less diverse. All the...

Tell you what Tim. You rewatch the footage of PS5 exclusives that you think are easy to keep on PS4. Watch each game trailer in 4K or 1440p to be able to see the fine details. 1080p, especially on YT algorhithm is abhorrant for graphics analysis. Come back to me with your findings and list of games you've seen without compromised non 4K/1440p footage. I'll explain to you what you aren't seeing. If you want to pretend everything is an on/off switch then you don't understand gam...

Because, if you watched the Road To PS5 conference, both the CPU and GPU can run at max clocks simultaneously and will do so nearly 100% of the time. It's about power usage. Just like the misconception that TFlops equals gaming performance, max clockspeed doesn't mean using max power usage. You can actually have the same exact GPU using more power in a demanding scene at 5% or more less clockspeed. There is more to a GPU than the clockspeed. All these p...

Here's the thing, Zeref. Practical and under ideal situations is completely different. SFS requires devs taking advantage of it. SFS also falls under the restrictions of the SSD AND the system throughput. You are taking the compressed speed and multiplying it with the 2.5x number. You don't double compress this data. You compress the drives uncompressed data. You have no way of achieving 12GB of texture data like you made up. You don't understand the material.

I...

Zeref:

"And not theoretical peak speeds like Cerny talks about."

So, you certainly wouldn't take XBox's theoretical SSD speed and multiply it with a theoretical enhancement..right?

"Using that the SSD speeds is effectively 12GB/s. The raw performance is still 4.8GB. But effectively it's 12GB/s due to its efficiency."

Oh, no. You did take its theoretorical performance that directly ref...

Except, no one EVER complains about the thumbstick on the right. When this argument is poised, people say, "b-but that's cause the face buttons are more important to reach.." except the xbox has been time and time again hailed as a shooter console, and most modern games have you using the analogs on both sides nearly the entire game for movement and camera. No one complains about the right analog on the XBox because you're creating fake problems ...

Ray tracing is ray tracing. Any ulterior method of lighting isn't ray tracing or labeled as such. If it's ray tracing, then it's ray tracing. Ray tracing is a very specific method of light rendering. Explain how it's a cheaper method. The only difference between software and hardware is that it's not running on dedicated ray tracing hardware or ray tracing cores. Software actually is historically and technically more accurate than hardware for r...

PSNow..

It has been out years longer, already including cloud gaming. It also includes free online for games that are in the services library. Half the retail price of base GP subscription. A third the cost of Ultimate. Including more games, streaming, and the free online access for its games. If this is it service is so important to people here then they should be praising both right now for their strengths and savings.

XBox is an app on PC as well, so you still have "XBox GamePass" as the service but access through the Windows Store.

Nahh. By, "switch it up" they mean falling back to their old ways and design something that ND doesn't want to do.

They should have a remake from a third party to gage interest and potentially handle the sequels. That graphical design isn't complicated for anyone to handle with next gen hardware
