I'm not going to deny that they shouldn't have been moving it, but EVERY SINGLE disc playing device I've ever owned, I've moved at least once while something was in it, be it a CD-Walkman, my computer, my ps2, my ps3, my dvd player, or my xbox1. It just never occurs to me that moving it (note: I don't me shaking it up and down or jerking it around, just relocating it) might scratch something inside. Because it never has before.
no one's saying there's a problem with belittiling the news or commenting on its significance; they're just saying don't make it sound like it's Sony's fault. If I go outside and say "this game is going to completely change the console wars; you'll see things you've never even imagined possible," and then it fails to do that, how can you turn to Sony and say "Hey you liars, this is it?"
On both sides, so many statements are attributed to the actual console...
Not sure how great an idea that is, and this is from someone who LOVES the series. Have you played Gradius V on the PS2? There's so much light-show and special effects going on, that it gets downright impossible to see the single-pixel white dot coming at you when you die. Sure it looks great, but when you have five options and lasers flying everywhich way, you're almost going it blind. Imagine how much they'd try to do with more horesepower.
Well, HOME is maintained online and free
This could be cool. I wonder, though, if your objectives will be against other players head-to-head, or just competition. Like, are you trying to take out other players, or is it you and your team competing against other players (and their teams) to take out the same target. Depending on how immersive they get this thing, this could be really different. I also wonder if there's a persistent world or not.
I have to agree with "Why." I bought my PS3 at launch with the understanding that the really good games wouldn't be out for a while, as that's how nearly all console launches work. When I bought my PS2 (also at launch), all I had for the longest that was worthwhile was SSX. It was months before games better than the Bouncer and Oni were released. When I bought my PS3, the only two games I'd intended to get for that year were Resistance and Fight Night (the latter kept getting de...
Sadly, my Japanese vocabulary consists of being able to say "hello, brother, sister, father, mother, monster, idiot, what, why, and sponsor" :-) Still have to wait for the sub.
I'll wait for one of the subbers I trust to get their releases out, rather than suffer through youtube quality video. Can't wait to see it though.
Guitar Hero works perfectly? Sold. Guitar Hero 2 doesn't? Taking my money back -_-. How hard is it to release a product that works as advertised? Sheesh.
That's kind of the same outlook for me. Outside of sports or racing, almost every single game I own is for the story, which is why I really was never a fan of online play- it didn't feel like you were playing a story arc. Project Offset may hopefully change this though...
Anyways, the other gripe I've always had with most MMOs in the past was the RPG element tacked on at the end. I've tried Lineage, and I've tried KOTOR, and I just can't STAND RPGs. I hate the idea that any...
About the firmware updates? Yes. Wireless streaming/access was one of the major reasons I sprung for the 60gig PS3, and now I can finally use it like I wanted. And I've never had a handheld since the original Gameboy, because I'm not a fan of gaming on them, but this media stuff alone might be reason enough to pick up a PSP, especially if the price drops a little more. Being able to remotely download things is a feature I'd never have even thought of. For the most part, both my PC and PS...
The other half of my fighting games; Soul Caliber and Virtua Fighter. If I could just get some next-gen Powerstone and Rival Schools, I'd be set.
do we think these releases are headed individually (i.e. SCEJ decides what and when to release in Japan, SCEA, and SCEE the same)? Or do we think there's some grand scheme as far as what to give to each region?
Mmm, the new ones don't do that much for me. Knights of Cydonia still has me riding an anticipatory high. It'd be cool if they could get some Daft Punk in there too...
I think the CRank is already in place to regulate how much you can contribute, if I'm not mistaken.
I agree that you should have to submit a reason for why you're attempting to take someone's bubbles. Not only will this possibly cut down on vengeance, but it will give the de-bubblee insight into what they need to change to contribute to the site better. I'd say the same with "disagrees," but that would probably be too much work. I can just recall the number of times I or another has posted a completely blatant fact or statement and had a bunch of disagrees for some reason. Jus...
I think blogging would take off better if it weren't all in one place, mixed with everyone else's. Being able to have your own profile, with a list of your friends and their blogs alone, makes the process much more worthwhile, a la the cnet sites.
There were two games that came out for the Gamecube that I felt I really HAD to play. One of them I got to, because Viewtiful Joe was ported over to PS2. This game was the other; look forward to maybe catching it the second time around.
well, there's more than those four in the beta alone...
Even though we're on opposite sides, I can't go against a fellow Hokie. Both systems are great for games; enjoy what you have, and let others do the same.
