DC Universe - you've ruined my social life

Personally, I paid for more than a gaming system. If I HAD bought it as just a gaming system, I'd still have bought the $500 model for what I consider the more exciting 1st party line-up. If I were buying a box JUST to play games, and felt that the 1st party stuff offered little in the way of fun, then of course I'd think a PS3 was a silly purchase. But I'm not such a person, and I don't.

My friend and I both went out and bought The Darkness the same day, and we both started...

Cool, off to download Superstardust right now

Should have known that'd cost a bubble; on a post that probably won't get approved no less. Heaven forbid I don't agree with the masses. That's what the "disagree" selection's for. Bubbles mean the person shouldn't even be allowed to talk as much, and if I've ever said anything to encourage that, I'd be surprised.

I don't mind achievements; I think they truly do add to the replay value of a game, and unlocking extras or skins or trophies or what-have-you for getting...

Game looks and plays great. Does stutter occassionally (I think three times so far for me), but it doesn't last long. It's annoying though, and disapointing to see when you're used to other games running smoothly.

Amazing opening sequence though; had me hooked like you wouldn't believe. And when you take out all the lights . . . ohhh, you feel so giddily unstoppable.

Dangit, the ONE thing I don't want is some kind of gamerscore system. I don't mind "achievements" and rewards for completing tasks, but some silly global number for you to throw around for bragging rights is just annoying.

Alright guys, this is really getting out of hand. What part of the above scentence can possibly be construed as "disagreeable?"

You do realize that Microsoft makes nowhere NEAR $60 for each copy of the game sold, right? They make the largest chunk of profit, yes, but that money goes to the developer, distributor, the store who's shelf it's sitting on, the guy who shipped it there, advertising, etc.

They would have gotten the game anyways. They would have gotten the DLC anyways. They paid $50 million to make sure no one ELSE could have it. If you think that the difference in number of users buying th...

Seriously; no one remembers the "Microsoft Hearts You" boat floating by the Sony launch in Europe? Or Bill Gates jokingly saying they'd release Halo 3 whenever the PS3 launched? It's dirty; I'll hand you that. But it's by no means new.

Already in .mp4 too; straight to the PS3 you go!

I just finished playing a few hours of The Darkness, and the slowdown definitely is annoying and sad to see. Still fun of course, but it's just not the flawless experience you'd expect a game to be.

As for the music, I guess if you did play a lot of sports/racing games, then in-game music would be more desireable if you got tired of the game's soundtrack. I would never say that NOT having the option is better than it being there for those who want it; it's just not something ...

Seriously, that's a dealbreaker for you? Not the games, player, features, etc., but playing in-game music? I just never envisioned that it could be considered that important, but then again, I've never really had it, so maybe I'm missing something. Most games I play are single player, and the music's kind of important to the game/atmosphere.

Instead of disagreeing with, wouldn't it help more to explain the right answer? I think that in the game, for the most part, you have the overhead view you're talking about. But I'm under the impression that either the full screen presentation is an optional mode, or something that happens at certain points in battle maybe? They've shown it a lot, and so I don't think it's just some cutscenes. Also, they've explained in the past that there will be different kinds of terrain (I think havin...

lol, I was about to say the same thing: "A GamePro editor said."

I kind of got sidetracked from the HOME beta with the warhawk stuff. I hope they've fixed how long it seems to take for a movie screening to load; I don't know if it's just me, or if anyone else has that issue. The public videos play fine for me, but the ones in theater take minutes to load up. Bowling's still fun though; can't wait to check out the improvements there. And getting the avatars a little closer to reality should be interesting too.

This isn't trying to instigate or anything, but I wasn't aware that the PS3/PSN had connectivity issues.

Wow, over 2400 active folders in the first ten PS3-named teams alone. And to think, we only have 42 members on the N4G one...

Please, follow the books, not the movies. I'm a huge Ludlum fan (have over 30 of his books), and although I can appreciate the movies on their own merit, they COMPLETELY change things; and I don't mean in the usual acceptable "cinematic translation" way. I mean in Bourne Identity, his former boss... isn't supposed to die. He actually becomes his best friend save for Marie, and is in every book. Speaking of Marie, in the second book... she doesn't die either! She's in all 3. No...

definitely importing the black gun, if the price isn't too steep. I like the Time Crisis games, and playing them at home (and saving quarters) should be a blast.

Can't wait; HSG 3 was one of my favorite games to play on ps2. I like the fact that it IS more arcadey than Tiger Woods, but still provides (what I consider to be) a decent amount of depth. Very addicting gameplay, and online should probably be fun, if I can find someone to play with.

And imagine how much the ratings for PGA would skyrocket if they had french-maid caddies in real life who could run on water...

I'm not disputing the truth of your statement or anything, but don't forget that to the rest of the world, you are as well just another user on the the internet. For each story that you hear about where somene's on their 3rd system that you think is false, there can also be false "I've only seen one out of 15" or what-nots. I don't own a 360, so I have no personal comments on its longevity. I know 4 people who have them, whose systems all still work. That in no way deters me fro...
