I may not be part of the masses, but I am one of the people who has a PS3 and who LOVES Singstar. Going to play the new Pop release this weekend at my friends', in fact. Whenever anyone goes over there, Singstar inevitably makes an appearance, and whenever people come over here, the Guitar Heroes get broken out. I sing horribly, but when you're with friends, it breaks into pure laughter half-way through the songs anyways. Can't wait for the PS3 version so I can buy what songs I want, and ...

Just came out for the 360, but it's been out for ps2 since November. Releasing one game a year isn't too far out there.

Why does this imply a lack of graphical upgrade? Not considering the fact that the game doesn't really NEED insane graphics (art direction is pretty set and works well), they have so little that they actually have to animate that it's not hard to imagine improvements if they wanted them. I'm just happy that it's finally coming to PS3. Hopefully, I can use the PS3 controller with my PS2 copies of the game (geesh, that'll be 3 controllers I've bought from them). And I hope they keep the ori...

Hey, it wasn't meant to come across as a challenge. I just didn't understand how a person who admitedly dislikes RPGs would be satisfied in any way by this game. I can't stand playing RPGs, and no matter how good looking the game is, that won't change. If you'd just meant that the graphics would be up to par, then my mistake; I'm sure everyone will hope it looks good.

The other point still stands though; it wasn't Sony who said this looked like CGI - it was an independant jo...

The actual title of the article? "Final Fantasy XIIIs visuals set to redifine what we can expect in a game." That's fully believable. The closest they came to saying anything of the sort about better than CGI movies was "at worst, it's on par with Spirits Within." I don't have any doubt that games can be made that appear as good looking as CGI.

That leaves a lot open to interpetation still. More important than mere graphical fidelity and clarity will be ...

He (much like myself) doesn't like RPGs. Why would he be excited by this game? And since Square is making this, why is it Sony's job to impress upon him the need to buy it?

Didn't a Microsoft Rep. say in a statement a little while ago that they do NOT influence or force pricing schemes? I think it was in response to some developer saying Microsoft made them charge for something they didn't want to, and Microsoft responded with "it's up to the developers."

And you can't just point a finger at MS. Sony charged users to be able to play Blast Factor multiplayer :-\

I don't think $6 is too much for a PS1 game; I've paid more than that on eBay to get a copy of an old game from the past. I agree though that standardized pricing would be a good thing, but don't believe that Sudoku should cost the same as, say, Calling All Cars or anything; so individual princing makes sense.

And the $20 game is an actual, full Tekken game.

I've folded for days straight without excessive heat or system noise, so I can attest to this first hand; it's perfectly safe to leave the sytsem running as long as you want, provided you give it room to breathe.

I guess that's kind of true, in a way. I brought my system at launch (US launch), and paid $600 not because there was a slew of game I wanted to play, but rather, because I believed that the games coming out 6mos. to a year down the line would be worth it. You see so many people saying "so and so's a better option NOW." I have no qualms about investing in something that I think will pan out in the future. A lot of it is trusting Sony to improve: I bought a ps2 at launch, and tho...

For the longest, it had been intended to be a spring release. With a time frame in mind, you'd have to assume they were close to finishing, and that the delay is just fine-tuning and optimising. I'd believe they could have it out in May; it's so weird hearing NOTHING about games though; so anti-Sony.

And Anego, I think that is the BEST profile name I've ever seen anyone use :D

I guess they just wanted her character to feel different. Apparantly, a large number of her moves are countering, hooking, and sweeping moves, so the longer weapon is necessary for that.

Play the video. Pause it where you'd like the thumbnail "preview clip" to start. Hit triangle to bring up the menu, and select the third icon from the right in the top row; the "Change Icon" icon. It will then make a 15 second clip starting at that point, and that's what you'll see in the video menu.

Ok, I know it's kind of tacky to be the first person to post on your own submitted article, but I just wanted to get it out there that Clover has NO room to talk about putting gameplay before the bottom dollar. They let Clover Studios get closed down. I own and love Okami, Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2, and God Hand, and was happy to know that there existed a developer who made original games outside the mainstream "safe profitability zone." All of their games were critically acclaimed, ...

For everyone claming that PS fans are affecting the results, if you go to the actual website of the poll, they state that you have to submit a gamertag for verification purposes. That would eliminate any fraudulant activity, wouldn't it?

Based on the way the opening paragraph was written, it sounds like the infant played the game, had a seizure, and then sued Sony himself. Wording people! Wording!

Anyways, there's a label smack-dab at the front of the instruction manual warning of this possible effect. If you can't be bothered to read the instructions, you can't complain when something bad happens. What more would she expect them to do, have it plastered all over the case, game disc, and start-up menu as we...

It also depends on what you keep on your hard drive. I have about 10gigs left on my 60gigPS3. All of my music's on there, a bunch of anime and music videos. I haven't even started putting movies on it yet. And a whole bunch of photos. If you're just going to use it for gaming stuff, the 20 and 60 are plenty of space. But some people seem to forget that other people use it as a full-out media center.

Speaking from personal experience and a long-time waiting, most people with Tivos don't have an HDMI slot in them. The Series 3s, which just came out the end of '06, DO have HD recording in HDMI. They also cost $800. I think if you have one of those, and an HDTV, you're probably not blinking at splitting signals and stuff.
