Just wanted to state that the only reason Warkhawk's on BluRay in the first place is because it's the only allowable disc format for PS3 games. It fully installs onto the HD, and is the same size as the downloadable version. In fact, you can select the game from the menu, and once it begins loading, you can take the disc out and play just fine; it's only needed for an initial verfication, and if you want to watch the sparse "bonus" materials.
Just felt that it wasn'...
I'm defintely liking what I'm seeing, and have already paid off my copy. These are the kinds of games that make the ridiculous cost of console gaming worth it to me. And it kind of shows how spoiled I'm becoming that little things now stand out so much. Like at the end of the last clip. there was some clipping as his animation kind of carried him through a wall. You come to develop so much respect for the animator's efforts that you just assume that they have some animation for a one hand...
they've always done incentives; just never a "here's this much money to not make the game for any other system." In the grand scheme of things, it amounts to the same results, just phrased differently.
And don't forget, when they say it's "user feedback," they may actually be telling the truth. Sony's sent out numerous surveys in the past year, asking how you use your system, how many Blu-Rays you have, what features are important, what features aren't, etc. Depending on the results, they may have actually recieved a general consensus to drop it in favor of a better price.
or...you could buy a current 60gig with BC as well; the option still exists.
Sony's making plenty of good games.
And lest we forget, Sony is more than just a video game console, much like Microsoft does more than make the Xbox. If you really think that they're pulling game developers off of projects to go tinker with blu-ray instead, I'd have to say I believe you're mistaken. They have film studios, music labels, and all kinds of electronic lines to worry about; not just the Playstation. My reciever, camcorder, and tv all say Sony on them, and not ou...
or five and a half inch floppies, for that matter...
It's just something that makes things easier. No one's saying other ways don't work; just not as well.
How? What was played at E3? A demo. that's how. This is the one game that I actually feel I NEED to demo first, because I was a little turned off by that E3 stage demo. I don't by any means expect a game to run perfectly months before its release, but if it's NOT, you have to deal with people making impressions off of it none-the-less.
I'm still waiting on hard-to-find PS1 titles. Where's my Vib Ribbon, Silent Bomber, Bust a Groove, Tomba! 2, Rival Schools, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Ehrgeiz? Hmmmm Sony?
Ahh, what could have been. But evidence that a game sans multiplayer can still be one of the greatest ever produced. I have faith in Team ICO that they made what they felt was the best decision at the time. Whether it was cost or just gameplay, I'm sure they left it out for a reason, because that looked like it would have been too cool not to develop.
dangit, hit agree when I meant to hit "reply"
Anyways, Shadows is by FAR my favorite of the two, although ICO is great in its own right. Shadow is just so massive and beautiful though. And Agro is by far the best side-kick a developer's ever thrown into a game.
Here's a runthrough of my favorite colossus; #14. If you can make it through the guy's commentary, you can see just how epic in scale the game is, even though this is the tiniest boss (most of...
Could you imagine a co-op SOTC 2? With even larger colossi, where you have to work in teams to bring him down? THAT would be some kind of awesome.
like a hot dog.
I love the fact that you can see him flinching while on the move as he's being shot at. It's something subtle, in the grand scheme of things, but makes the animation feel that much more fleshed out and realistic.
This is the first time I've seen this video. Assuming the online play works in the manner promised a year-and-a-half ago, and assuming it for some reason doesn't come out on PS3, then this will be the game that makes me finally get a 360. Can't wait to hear more about it!
Have to agree; Halo 3 is an awesome game, or so I hear. It was all I heard last night wherever I went (including my IM getting flooded with "OMG"s -_-).
But customization is different than creation. There's a big difference between "what can I put there" and "what do I want to put there".
Anyone remember Timesplitter's level editor?
Yeah, Free Radical made Timesplitters, which was good in its own right. And I believe Microsoft owns Rare, although I'm not sure how much of the Goldeneye team remains.
Umm, I believe there's that Kratos guy who's very weapon-oriented...
It's unfortunate that developers would be in the dark about rumble even being announced. I don't know of this is just a general black-out strategy to prevent leaks and stuff, or if Sony's just being bad about maintaining a rapport with developers.
Happy to see them excited to be able to add it though; and not even like "maybe we will." A definite "we're doing that."
I've never played one of these collectible card games before, but the premise does seem kind of intriguing. I just don't know if I'd want to invest in what it'd take to continue having fun. The concept of "buying" your way into dominance instead of just playing well is somewhat offputting.
But it looks like it'd be fun to play around with, and may be worth it just to get the camera anyways.
Please do take this game seriously. Indigo Prophecy was one of the most amazing games I've ever played, and I have full trust in this developer (Quantic Dreams, btw) because of it. They are the only ones to make a game where I truly did become completely immersed in the game world and who my character was, because they let you perform nearly every single action your character carried out, being choosing to sit, where to sit, what to do while sitting, how fast to eat, whether to pay, what so...
