Good thing it's classified under "rumor," right?
Yeah, we'll see how it pans out.
Article is run through with the terms "theoretical," and "believed," and talks about how it's better than "Microsoft envisaged." Sounds like a bit of BS to me... "Holy crap, we just 'found' an extra 90GB/s of bandwidth we didn't know was there! Our specs are awesome now!"
Or maybe people are just reading what developers and industry people are actually saying about the architecture. And one doesn't even need to be an "expert" to form a valid opinion; there's plenty of information on the web regarding computer technology for people to do their own research.
I'd take a guess that it's on its way some time in the future.
A lot.
Funny... I got the "all collectibles" trophy after picking up a comic book... and I still have one comic book left to pick up, as well as a training manual and a few pendants.
Then how come a PS4 + a $60 Eye is still cheaper than an Xbone? If it were bundled it would probably even come in at $450.
I meant the original PS3 fat.
Seriously. This is "news?"
The author's comments regarding Joel's daughter illustrate that he missed the point of the story entirely.
I don't think they made a stand for the original fat. It had rubber nubs on the side/bottom to stand up, and was pretty stable in the vertical position on its own.
I never had any problem with the DS3 sticks "growing slime." I am, however, disappointed that the vertical stand isn't included. And they'll probably charge $20-30 for a 25cent bit of injection-molded plastic. I wonder how well it will stand up without the actual base? Looks pretty flat on the sides.
Hopefully DreamGear or Nyko or someone will come out with a good stand at launch. I love this one for my Slim:

No PS3 ever had a power brick.
EVERY X360 model has a power brick (newest included).
The Xbone also has a power brick.
I think it would have been more entertaining for them to play a later section of the game, not just the intro.
On a related note, I recommend playing at least some of the combat-heavy sections on easy (after you finished the game on a harder difficulty). I played through the last hospital section on easy just to show my wife the ending, and it's pretty entertaining to just run around top speed laying into soldiers with the axe, bashing faces with bricks and blasting guys ...
Apple likes to keep things proprietary too.

@JOY: Did MS cancel some big Kinect giveaway? Because I would assume people would need to buy a Kinect to hack it or develop for it. Where is anyone asking to get something "for free?"
And that still doesn't address the lock-out of other third party peripherals.
(this article is its own spoiler alert)
I think the most obvious direction would have something to do with Ellie being confronted with Joel's lie in some way that she can't just brush aside. It's not like Joel killed every single Firefly at the hospital... it doesn't seem like it would take much for word to get out about what happened there.
"the console, the DualShock 4, a HDMI cable, an headset, a power cord, an USB cord and the instructions. What we didn't yet know is how some of those components will look."
Well, we've seen numerous pics of the console and controller, and a few of the earpiece. Sooooo... we didn't yet know what a few industry-standard cables looked like? Lemme guess... long and black with metal bits on both ends.
I guess the pic of the manual is new. Ooo...
Except for maybe your first point, all of that you listed are basic elements of any current dedicated server setup.
@Mystogan: Better how? And please no vague PR stuff... number of players? number of AIs? size of maps? persistent maps? Titavatars? What?
How specifically does "the cloud" (why isn't Azure available to PC?) make it "better?"
