Can these points of view get any more idiotic? Why is this shortbus-rider comparing these two games anyway? I love Uncharted (aside from all the breakdancing bad guys); it is a great gaming experience but Gears is a completely different type of fun. Why not compare LBP to Halo 3 why your at it. I just love slow news (and yes I use that word subjectively) days.
After having just played Halo Wars I'd say that score is about right but the demo was short so can't say for certain. The controls, unlike RE5, were laid out very well. I am a huge RE fan but I think that the controls should have evolved along with the graphics. The whole aim/shoot/stop/turn/run/stop/t urn/aim/shoot mechanic ruins the game for me. It leads to far too many unnecessary deaths and doesn't add anything to the suspense of the game; all it adds is frustration.
The demo is very impressive considering it's an RTS on a console. The controls work pretty flawlessly with good button layouts. It is short but I'd say it's a buyer if you enjoy RTS games and it existing within the Halo universe is an added plus for fans of the game.
I haven't even wasted a fraction of the time on COD5 that I have on COD4 but I haven't experienced any issues. Yes I said 5 and it is one big, boring, AI-challenged glitchfest that I should have stopped playing after the Beta ended. Anyway it is the fifth in the series so it's COD5. You don't see anyone talking about Halloween III and calling it Halloween: World Without Michael. The series number is 5 so waste time complaining about something other than another inferior product from out less ...
With all the talk of ME/ME2 coming to the PS3, you only have to look at Bioshock and understand why it likely will not happen. That game while far different from an RPG was highly acclaimed and "wanted" by the PS3 community yet sold 2 MILLION fewer copies than the 360 version (approx. 2.3 mil to 330K). The Orange Box is another title to compare with around 140K copies sold on the PS3. Valve isn't going to do the port themselves and who wants a third rate EA port anyway? The games se...
Bioshock weapons in general were pretty bada$$. In addition to those listed, I'd mention Lost Planet as well. You had a pretty powerful shotgun in that game.
I concur with that sentiment. It is frustrating beyond belief and it could be fixed pretty easily and should have been implemented from day 1. Like many of you I've been waiting on this title for quite some time but if the run/gun option isn't available then this is likely a renter. I have played the demo countless times both with AI and my brother online and numerous deaths could have been avoided with a better control scheme. The realtime transfer of weapons/supplies is a nuisance as well b...
The Mad World trailer was an absolutely perfect advertising campaign for Gears. That song is so haunting against the backdrop of a rain-soaked Marcus running among the shadows of destroyed buildings.
Wow! What a surprise. That video was a POS and no one in their right mind thought that could possible play at the Superbowl.
I highly doubt the validity of this story. It would be great if true but that ad is horrible and looks like it was made in ten minutes on a wishful fanboy's commercial. Sudden death means you die suddenly. Seriously? Your biggest effort in gaming to date and you would drop this crap during the biggest game of the year, I call BS but a real ad would be an awesome step in the right direction for Sony.
Well why not just wait until March then? Sony ad execs have to be the least qualified and most oblivious personnel within the entire Sony universe.
Since Ensemble is behind the game I have little doubt that it'll be very good. I'm a huge fan of the Age of Empires series and if anyone can bring an RTS to a console and make it rival the PC then it's the team who were booted from the building just as the game was finished. I'm not a big Halo guy but I am a sucker for most anything sci-fi and will likely pick this title up when it hits the stores.
Man that sucks. I'm a big fan of the Age of Empires series and am pulling for Halo Wars more than ever so MS can realize then continue to deny the err of their ways.
It might since the 720 will be out in November 2010 just in time for Gears 3, GTAV, Halo 4 and COD: Trenches of WWI. :)
Please let it be true. Crackdown was a great gaming experience.
They must not have played anything near the demo I screamed at for hours on end.
So they knocked the graphics for the flamethrower or what? Like some of you I think a lack of co-op hurts the game somewhat. If you always have a partner around then splitscreen/online co-op would be a great addition. As for the 9.4/10 I have no issue with that because a game should never get a perfect score but the graphics score contradicts what the reviewer is saying. Either way I get more excited to play the finished product as the days creep along.
Good grief! It got a freaking 9.4 so why all the whining? Scores are pretty much useless anyway, just look at GTAIV. Buy it or rent it then whine and complain about it.
It will start eventually but not until the majority of developers take the time and make the effort to use the PS3 to its potential. Until that happens multiplatform titles are going to continue to look nearly identical and in many cases slightly better on the 360. We'll see 2-3 exclusive titles in 2009 that look as good as KZ2 but the remaining titles are going to continue to be unimpressive when compared to that title and sadly that likely won't change anytime soon.
A Gamestop guarantee might as well be written on toilet paper with a pink crayon. Why in the hell anyone would buy a new game from them is beyond the level of my highly advanced comprehension abilities.
