Crytek hasn't given shit about PC gamers for the last 2 years since they developed Crysis 2 for consoles.
I'd rather have indie devs and CD Project RED than Crytek and their EA masters.

The reason most publishers hate the PC is because it can't be controlled like the consoles can.

There's mods, config changes than affect graphics, sound and gameplay and many other things they have no control over.

Actually I have.

Outlast is coming out on PS4 and so is War Thunder but I've already got them on PC.

I'm also looking forward to GTA5 on my PS3.

"Next gen" has nothing to do with graphics. It just refers to the next generation of consoles, nothing more.

@thetruthx1

The backlash has nothing to do with power of the consoles.

It has everything to do with price and trust.
In the UK we are just coming out of a double dip recession and you expect people to splash out on a luxury item? Compare Xbox - £430 to PS4 - £350.

Now which one do you think people will buy considering the economic climate?

MS doesn't have that year's advantage this time around and th...

@Shadowsteal: Erm no it wasn't. The first GTA was developed in DOS for the PC in 1995/6 and it was originally called Race'n'Chase until Dan Houser renamed it to Grand Theft Auto.

It was later ported to Microsoft Windows, Playstation and Game boy Colour in 1997.

So please get your facts straight! This is why PC gamers are so pissed off at Rockstar, formally DMA Design, as we were the ones who made them what they are.

I guess you th...

Hasn't Xbox Live just had Summer of Arcade which are all indie titles with most of them timed exclusivity attached?

I thought Xbox was a lovely place for the indie devs :P

And yet you mock them now?

4577d ago 5 agree2 disagreeView comment

At least the PS3 had some exclusives over the past few years.

What happened to the Xbox exclusives since Kinect was announced on x360? That's right they all dried up cos MS wanted a piece of the casual gamer pie.

It'll happen this time around too as MS only have 1 or 2 1st party studios worth mentioning compared to the 20+ studios of the Sony worldwide family.

4578d ago 1 agree2 disagreeView comment

Watch what happens when Sony Worldwide Studios start pumping out their exclusives and MS cowers in a corner with 2-3 exclusives per year.

MS aren't in the same league as Sony when it comes to a gaming console and platform exclusives. They sold off most of their studios and now just rely on Forza and Halo to tide their fanboys over.

MS motto must be "If in doubt pay for timed exclusivity!"

Titanfall seems to be a cool game but it...

I got Tomb Raider for £20 from Greenman Gaming at launch.

It doesn't negate the fact that EA Origin titles are a rip off.

4586d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

EA Origin client isn't too bad but their prices for digital games is ridiculous.

So that's another game I will be boycotting because of EA.

It's £45 on Origin atm for a PC digital download the retail version is the same price.
£55 for Xbone and X360 version on the store as well.

So you won't be buying any of Summer of Arcade titles which are all indie games on XBLA then?

Hypocrisy at it's finest! :)

You should be a politician. You'd fit right in.

I'd rather have any of the indie titles coming to PS4 than these so called AAA games coming to Xbone.

Don't Starve by Klei is a much better game than all the Xbox offerings. I know as I have it on steam atm and I was in the alpha/beta for the game too.

War Thunder is a brilliant F2P MMO with just the aerial combat but they are adding ground and sea combat too in the near future. I'm playing it atm btw on PC of course :P

MS may hav...

yeah I do shop around but that doesn't negate the fact that publishers have increased the prices on PC over the last few years by £10-15 especially when there is no royalty to pay on PC games. This is just publisher greed as usual.

And publishers wonder why game sales have decreased over the years. You put the prices up you sell less. Simple economics.

Most of my 600+ games on steam came from the indie bundles and steam sales.

I rece...

That's no longer the case for AAA games on PC. Expensive hardware, expensive games (£35-45) now courtesy from the likes of EA, Sega and Activision and a few other publishers.

Indie games are somewhat reasonable but they are creeping up into the £15-20 mark as well now.

4589d ago 0 agree8 disagreeView comment

I'd rather play indie games than the AAA games. Most of the time indie games have much more variety and depth and come at an affordable price.

Indie just means Independant and can be 100+ people or 1-2.

I'm glad Sony are treating the indie devs with respect and including them on their console at launch.

I think that a lot of the 1st party devs might struggle with the PC architecture as they have been used to foreign custom designs when it comes to PS3 and X360 but the 3rd party devs have no excuse.
They've been developing on PC architecture for a long time and this will show just how "lazy" the developers were with PC ports.

You get out what you put into it. That includes graphics, sound and profits.

Copy/paste designs won't work th...

Yeah that's the fault of PC gamers around the world.

$20 billion revenue says otherwise.

Consoles have actually increased the cost of game development over the years and resulted in development studios going bust because they couldn't afford to carry on making games for the consoles.

PC game development is actually alot cheaper as there is no one to charge them licensing fees or for dev kits just to put their game on the platform.

This is primarily a tablet game for android/iOS for $5 so go blame them.

I've never even heard of the game till now.

Most indies on PC do very well especially when they are released on steam/desura.
When released on consoles they don't seem to do too well.

Most console gamers like flashy graphics and all out action and that's the complete opposite for a lot of indie titles.

4589d ago 3 agree3 disagreeView comment

Yeah Fable 1 and 3 was on PC but they didn't bother with 2 for some reason.

I forgot Mark of the Ninja was MS published but Don't Starve isn't as Klei launched it on steam instead.

Well Flight and Age of series are kinda shut down now as MS closed Ensemble and MS Flight has abandoned development.

Yeah Halo 1 and 2 were on PC but the last Halo game was that tablet strategy game for Windows 8 applications so that doesn't count :...

Which core games have MS published on PC recently?

The only 1 I can think of was Alan Wake 2 years after the Xbox release and MS was badgered by Remedy many times to let them do it.

They aren't exactly supporting the PC platform. MS only care about the Xbox platform now and if their investors get their way the Xbox division will be shut down after Ballmer leaves.

Sony and Nintendo are console hardware manufacturers and always have been. T...

Go preorder an Xbox180 then in time for launch in...erm...2014! hehe

You do realise that is exactly what MS are doing? You'll be waiting longer and paying more in EU :P
