How the hell can Sony be a follower and Microsoft be a leader in innovation when MS Xbox came after the PS2?
Sony had already been established in the console market with PS1 before even MS showed their face.

Ms have just used their money and bullying tactics to get their way like they always do.
MS have been like this for decades in the OS market and now the video games market are just seeing what they are capable of.

MS tried to copy everyth...

Well yeah I've only bought my first PC after that I learned to build the rest.

It's just like building with Mechano or Lego :) Just gotta know what piece goes where :P

@SEGAisBETTER

Bollocks.

I upgrade about every 3-4 years if i have to otherwise I just don't bother.

The only people that upgrade their PC every time a new graphics card comes are PC enthusiasts with more money than sense.

The normal PC gamer probably does the same as me. Not all components need to be upgraded like motherboard, RAM, hard drives, monitor, kb/m, etc.

PC gaming in the long term costs alot les...

PC gamers haven't had a need to buy new PCs because the console life cycle has been so long and we get such poor ports that don't take advantage of the PC architecture that there is no point in upgrading.

I maybe upgrade my PC every 3-4 years but it's just a graphics card and maybe a new motherboard. Anything else i buy only if it dies on me like my monitor a few months ago but even that was fixed by replacing a couple of components inside it.

My ...

The Wii had the gimmmicks in the motion controls but it was also alot cheaper than the other systems so sold a lot more.

The WiiU has the gimmicks now and is cheaper but hasn't sold that well at all.

The casual market have had enough of the gimmicks and smartened up a bit to know that they are just gimmicks.

I think the X180 is going to struggle after the initial preorder fenzy the gimmick it has (Kinect) isn't all that good for gamin...

@bessy67 New n Tasty generic?? Abes Oddysee was one of the first games to really bring back 2d platform/puzzle games.

Games like Limbo, Braid, and many more should be thankful for Oddworld and Lanning for bringing the genre back from extinction.

Oddworld Munch's Oddysee was a launch title for Xbox. I think MS owes Lanning and Oddworld Inhabitants a bit of leeway.

If it was me though I would just launch on all other platforms apart from Mi...

Do you play all your games every day or just Call of Duty with your "bros"? :P

There's a lot more indie devs creating games on PC than both consoles combined.

They also make a substantial profit as well.
$20bil revenue for PC market is not something you turn your nose up at and it's estimated that it will surpass the console market by 2015.

I'm not an "elitist prick" either. I'm just a gamer.

No Sony just give them away to you on PS+ for free.

When Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII came to steam the devs made more money in 24 hrs than they did all year on XBox.

The indie bundles also make a lot of profit for the devs or it would have stopped a long time ago.

Xbox and PS3 have been cracked and you can play pirated games on both of them.

How about you stop lumping all the consoles together vs PC as the...

They do hate any kind of DRM and they weren't happy about the DRM crap in Xbox180.

They also don't like selling their DLC for profit as they want to reward their fans and not be dictated by MS cos of their shitty policies.

The PC releases from CD project have always had a DRM free version available to buy.

These conferences mean sod all. Destiny was at PS4 conference does that mean Sony will have preferential treatment over Xbox180 wh...

I don't expect anything less gog.com as CD Project RED owns them hehe.

This is actually quite interesting and might mean CD Project themselves feel the same way.

If Windows 8 was designed for the desktop PC they would never have added the Metro UI. This is MS losing it's way trying to be Jack of All Trades, Master of None.

Even though you can use the desktop UI its so convoluted and unintuitive for the desktop user that it feels so unnatural coming from Windows 7.

I've tried Windows 8.1 preview and it felt like I had two OS's competing for attention while navigating around so went back to Windows 7, an OS...

The MMO genre is getting stale as it is on PC.

Ever since WoW came out most developers have been trying to replicate Blizzards winning formula and all have failed so far.

This is why most people play MMOs for 2-3 months till they get bored and move on. They are very much solo player experiences now with only a bit of multiplayer participation in dungeons or harder boss fights.

So I hope the new consoles adds a bit of life into the genre if So...

"A game for an entire generation" needs to be on all platforms not just 2 especially when it's a bloody MMO.

Not announcing this for PC is crazy when PC is the home of MMOs.
It can't be pirated so it must just be a petty stance from Bungie. Same with Ubisoft with The Division.

And yet they publish State of Decay on XBLA which is pretty damn buggy.

Double standards methinks :P

Microsoft won't have self publishing because they can't control it and that scares the crap out of them.

MS reminds me of an OCD person. If something isn't quite in the right place for them they have a hissy fit so they try to control everything around them.

This is why they hate the PC gaming market as it's co...

Don't blame CD Project RED they want it free on all platforms.

Go talk to Sony and MS more so it's their damn consoles and policies.
Well MS policies as they require any DLC to have a cost to their customers.

Dark Souls 2 is coming to PC. The rest are first or second party games from Sony or MS.

I've never paid "thousands of dollars" for any PC.

Another ignorant console fanboy thinking he knows everything.

I really couldn't give a crap what Ubisoft decides there's plenty more exclusive games on PC for me to play.

And The Division is an MMO. The PC is the home of MMOs. Talk about a company not knowing their target demographic very well hehe.

No they aren't. Quite a lot of PC games retail for £35-45 now. These are digital download prices.

Many of the retail boxed copies are actually cheaper if you are willing to wait for postage on day of release.

It should be the other way around but it's not as EA, Activision and many other publishers can dictate prices to online stores. Only way around that is the store has voucher codes like GMG to make the prices cheaper for their customers.

I doubt they even know how powerful or not it is atm.

They've been having a bad time with their yields to create the chipsets so anything could change within the next 6 months.
It may be downclocked significantly to what they wanted if they don't get the yields right. Time is running out for MS.

They don't want another RROD fiasco like last time as that is a possibility due to overheating from incorrect yields. That would most certainly ki...

"Gamers have been fooled." - really? The Xbone games were being played on a PC with a more powerful nvidia card than xbone has. Now who's been fooled?

@malokevi Just wondering if the digital era is a bit early for consoles atm. I mean I can't imagine downloading 25GB+ of data just for one game on xbone or ps4 and that is if your ISP allows such downloads.

It's all well saying how the digital age is going to be great and all but once you ...
