PC gamers still have this problem now and there hasn't been used sales on PC for years.

Take, for instance, Company of Heroes 2. Its a £40 digital game but costs £26-30 for a retail boxed copy.

None of the publishers have taken on board digital downloads should cost less as there is no box or import tax. They'll just price gouge till the system collapses in on itself.

Whatever price you pay for digital sales now is what you&...

Good luck playing The Last Guardian any time soon as Sony have put the game on hold till further notice :P

Oh and all those games are Sony first party games. I do play on PS3 as well. I've had all of Sony's consoles but i prefer PC now. It's just a lot more versatile.

Watch Dogs is a PC first game then being scaled down for the consoles.
BF4 was also shown on the PC at E3 this year and many more console games were shown on PC as well.

This is like what they did with Syndicate. The first was a tower defense strategy game and the 2nd one is a first person shooter hehe.

So typical of EA to dumb shit down and create a FPS out of anything. And yes I know Popcap "developed" this game but EA are their masters.

Same price of PS3 at launch in UK. Sony has to beat that considering all the stick they got when PS3 launched.

Hehe you really think Microsoft and their publisher buddies are going to let you all play the same game from the same account on different xboxes?

That would make their DRM totally pointless and their anti-consumer stance on used games null and void :)

One thing that will happen. Sales will plummet with limited pre owned sales.

It's how a lot of people afford to buy their new games by selling their old games.

You make it too complicated and many people will either wait for the price to go down so they can buy it cheaper new or not buy the game at all.

I don't think this is what Microsoft and friends (EA and Activision) wants, do you?
But it's going to be the reality of t...

@ComBaTs0uL

It's not hard to put 2 + 2 together.

MS own Spike and Spike own Gametrailers therefore no Sony press conference.

I wonder what they are gonna talk about during the Sony conference. Maybe they have gag order not to mention Sony or Playstation too.
I wouldn't put it past MS to give out those orders. They are after all censoring E3 by removing Sony conference.

I'm guessing all the other EA, Ubisof...

I stopped watching GT.com ages ago as they were very xbox biased even then.

They treated PC gamers like the ugly step child as well.

Forget Spike TV and anything associated with them.

Watch Sony conference on PlayStation website and anything else on ign or gamespot.

I hope people wake up soon and realise what MS are doing and stop following them like lambs to the slaughter.

Lets hope they learn from the error of their ways and never buy an Xbox again.

Sheep are just wolves without knowledge :) Once that knowledge is out there in the mainstream MS will have a hard time selling their TV remote :)

Erm no as DCUO is an MMO. Requires always online no matter what u do.

I'm not even sure there is a retail box for it anyway as its a digital download F2P game.

You could also put that another way.

No gamers = no money = no publisher.

But developers would find a way to sell to the gamers so the publisher isn't really needed in the transaction. The publisher is just a convenient way to get games across to gamers easier.

The console manufacturers show just how short term they actually are.
I mean the only way to get BC is to buy again the HD edition of the PS2 and xbox games.

The PC can be a pain with all the different configurations but at least all the games work whether it was made 30 years ago or last week.

In a way the consoles change configs way more to conflict with BC all because the console developers want to charge extra for all the old "HD" editi...

That Gamers Bill of Rights only applied to the PC gamer as Stardock wrote it for their fans and PC gamers alike :)

But it'll probably apply to console gamers now too.

It's worth nothing till the publishers and developers actually sign up to it though.

@grimmweisse "The PC market is an example of an audience that gave up and accept the status quo due to convenience. First sale doctrine extends to digital property as well, but to enforce it would require the court system and people don't want the hassle."

PC gamers didn't give up we had to change tact and steam was one of the game companies that stuck by us and made the platform what it is today. If it wasn't for steam most of the publishers and console...

It should be a lower price. If publishers want a digital evolution or to stop used sales then the prices should reflect that.

If not then prepare for another video games crash when publishers got too greedy for their own good.

£30-35 for console games and £20-25 for PC games.

You're on N4G i.e. News 4 Gamers. I couldn't care less about other ways to use the Kinect on the PC but I do care about the games that MS may bring to the platform which requires Kinect to play them.

It'll probably require Windows 8 to use Kinect and any games that comes with it anyway.

4765d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yeah just get rid of G4WL and all will be well in the PC gaming world :)

I couldn't care less about any MS support for PC they haven't done anything worthwile for the platform in over a decade.

PC gamers use their OS and that's about it. If Windows OS didn't have such a monopoly on PCs we wouldn't be using that either.

And please don't bring your crappy Kinect device to PC it's really not wanted.

PC gamers have been used to this for years and we cope or just don't buy any draconian DRM games like we did with Ubisoft who happened to change their stance after their sales suffered.

The latest game is Sim City with appalling DRM but their sales aren't as good as forecast because a lot of PC gamers didn't buy into their crap.

I'd say get used to the DRM from publishers console gamers as it's coming and there's nothing you can do abo...

I think this is a great idea.

The PS3 isn't going to go away when PS4 is launched just like the PS2 was still around and supported when PS3 launched.

Sony supports their past and future consoles unlike MS who dumbed the Xbox when Xbox360 launched.

I think the PS3 will be around and supported 2-3 years after PS4 has launched. There is plenty more great games to come for PS3.

Maybe they shouldn't have included the first character, Mechromancer, for free for alot of people that pre-ordered.

It doesn't add any more content just a new character design and skills.

I won't be buying Psycho character for £8 even though I bought the season pass. It seems to be a rip off to me.
