You do know that PCs can use PS4 and XBone gamepads?
I use the X360 gamepad for most console ports and it changes to the gamepad buttons on screen.
Nothing new here. :)
There's nothing strange or wrong about this. Games are created on PCs no matter what system they are launching on.
You don't really think developers design games with a gamepad do you?
PCs are involved in everything to do with consoles. There is no escaping that. Even the AAA exclusives use PCs to design the games on.
It makes sense that most developers show their games on a PC as it's easier for them to demo on them for each conf...
I'm happy that PC is getting Ori and the Blind Forest as well. Looks to be a pretty slick platformer :)
A few games will be coming to PC as well from both conferences or already on PC.
I just don't rate Frostbite engine that highly. It seems to always have problems even on consoles.
I think they need to work on the engine a bit more to make it more efficient and less prone to crashing.
Battlefield 3 and 4 proves it's not all that good and DICE should really think about upgrading it or scrapping it for another engine that works.
No the PC specs are higher because the PC has to go through the crappy API called Direct X.
It's not coded to the metal like consoles are so it needs more power or it's a shitty console port.
Both is probably true :)
It doesn't mean the consoles are more powerful than they seem it's just the PC has more crap to get through before it hits the metal.
Tomorrow at E3 is going to be very interesting for MS.
They have a lot of trust to regain from both consumers and indie developers.
If MS don't remove the parity clause for indies it's not going to go well for them.
Consoles need both AAA and indie games to survive now. One or the other isn't going to cut it anymore.
It's probably because MS keep saying they are coming back to PC gaming for the last 10-15 years and they never have.
DirectX 12 is just a software update for us. If it improves PC performance, great, if not no big deal.
I'm not sure why Xbone fanboys are looking forward to DX12 as it won't improve or transform their hardware at all.
It's mainly for PC architecture as PC devs don't code to the metal and DX12 is meant to get...
Games are £40-45 ($66-75) for PC from certain publishers i.e. Ubisoft and EA.
Luckily we have steam and a few other online digital stores and legit cd key stores to get the games cheaper for PC.
I always shop around and get the best prices I can for the games I buy especially for AAA games.
It's even more expensive for console games, £55 ($92) for watch dogs boxed version on PS4.
All these prices are just for the normal ...
Well AMD went the console route and nvidia went the PC route this time.
It's just business for both companies.
I'm glad one company is supporting the PC apart from Valve. The rest seem to be console centric.
It seems that nvidia are supporting the PC while AMD are supporting the consoles this time around.
Even though AMD do have PC graphics cards nvidia are getting a lot of support from publishers to add in special effects like TXAA, physx and other graphical touches for PC gaming.
AMD wanted to go the console route with their graphics cards so they can't complain too much.
Just sucks that the end users gets the short end of the stick as always.
Near death? PC gaming has never been anywhere near death.
It's actually surpassing console gaming revenue so I guess that means consoles are near death instead of PC.
Ubisoft slack on all the games they make. They are just lazy developers or incompetent. Not sure which.
If DayZ SA is meant to be a zombie apocalypse survival game they could at least add zombies to the game instead of those glitchy npcs that walk through walls.
It's more of a torture simulator than a zombie game.
At this rate H1Z1 will be launched before DayZ is even out of alpha hehe.
Btw H1Z1 will be $20/£15 on steam Early Access within the next few weeks and will be F2P at launch :)
Personally I don't see the a...
Go back to your limited shelf life console and leave the PC gaming community to mourn the loss of some great games due to publishers short sightedness.
This is why PC gaming is so great due to it's communities and the mods that keep great games alive for so long while on console most games are dead within a few months.
Yup they are. It's quite sad since CoD was PC exclusive a long time ago.
I actually liked CoD 1 and 2 as they had a long single player campaign (15-20hrs) compared to the non-campaign now.
The first few weeks consoles have the BIG numbers for each game then they are never heard from again while the PC sells each game throughout the year and hardly makes the headlines especially digital titles.
Games on PC must be selling quite well considering the PC market is predicted to be surpassing the console market in total revenue :)
It's a marathon not a sprint :P
Big announcement next week from SOE about the game so we shall see then.
Hope it's a date for the Early Access on steam :)
Here you go.
You can compare the 2 visuals now.

This is just WIP rain for H1Z1.
Btw I don't class DayZ as a zombie survival game as it needs to add zombies first.
And H1Z1 will probably be the first true zombie apocalypse survival game as it will beat DayZ to final release.
I prefer this short clip http://twitpic.com/e23akk to the one found by reddit users :)
This was posted by John Smedley, CEO of SOE.
Isn't graphics the thing that console fanboys constantly argue about most of the time anyway?
Or resolution if it's 1080p or not etc etc.
On PC we had 1080p before the last gen of consoles were launched never mind this gen.
Maybe you should check out the mods for Skyrim or any other game that came out on PC the last decade or so :) It's not just about graphics.
I didn't think either conference was "mind blowing".
MS came out with the usual suspects, Forza, Halo, Fable and buying timed exclusive DLCs. There was some nice indie games coming but most are PC bound too.
Sony was way too safe. I was expecting to see Uncharted 4 gameplay and much more from their first party studios.
LBP3 was the only real surprise. Bloodborne is the same old gameplay mechanics from Demon/Dark Souls.
