No it's PC only atm.
It hasn't even been announced officially for PS4 yet.
I do expect it to be on PS4 but maybe in a year or 2.
@MysticStrummer
Not necessarily. It is SOE creating both games on the Forgelight engine but PS2 and H1Z1 have seperate teams working on them.
I think H1Z1 has only about 20+ people working on it atm.
Don't play it then :)
It'll be at least a year or 2 before it comes to PS4 anyway :)
SOE have said they'll be finishing the PC version first before they think about porting it over to PS4.
DayZ isn't an MMO unless you think 50+ on a server is an MMO :P
SOE are primarily PC developers.
Think about how long Planetside 2 has taken for the PS4 version.
H1Z1 will probably just take as long if not longer as it's still in pre alpha state when it arrives on PC via steam Early Access.
The game is a PC exclusive till they officially announce the PS4 version.
That's exactly how I felt about Halo 1 & 2 :)
The developers are called Giant Squid and the game is coming to PC and PS4 in 2016.
So it's a console exclusive not a full exclusive.
That's not going to happen.
PC games accounted for 25% of total sales in Q4 2013 for Ubisoft higher than X360 and PS3.
Even though Ubisoft treat PC gamers with contempt we still keep buying their games :P
I think 1st party exclusives are fine as both consoles need their AAA exclusive game but I think that 3rd party exclusives are a blight on the industry.
There is no reason to lock down a game which comes from 3rd parties to one console other than lack of 1st party exclusives. Timed exclusives are just as bad as well as timed or exclusive DLC.
Both console owners do it. I just don't see the point apart from pissing off customers that don't have access ...
Unless Destiny is a MMOFPS with battles raging 24/7 with 100s of players fighting it out on 3 massive maps then no it won't "fall of the planet".
For all you know Destiny could be the one falling and not PS2.
And I have played PS2 on PC for several months in beta and after it launched. Great game but you definitely need the support of an outfit to do well.
Well H1Z1 is coming to PC first and it's still in pre alpha on PC.
It'll be on Steam Early Access in the next few weeks as an alpha build.
SOE haven't even thought about PS4 yet just that it will come to PS4 in time after PC version is completed.
I'm saying never for now on PC. It's up to Bungie to change my mind to maybe.
It says a lot when they decided to put the effort into making the old gen console versions which won't last another 2-3 years never mind 10 years which is Bungies timescale for Destiny and not the PC version.
But it's their money to waste on old consoles.
@tuglu_pati It has nothing to do with the capacity of the hardware.
It just means you are able to code straight to the GPU or CPU (the metal) or as close as they can without any software getting in the way. It's just low level programming.
PCs have always had MS bloatware, Windows and Direct X decreasing performance of the hardware and this is what Direct X 12 is trying to rectify.
I don't like a game shows my elitism? That makes no sense at all :)
I have a PS3 as well but I just don't rate Destiny as high as others maybe because I've been playing similar types of games for years.
MMOs are nothing new on PC but they are on consoles so I can understand the excitement from console gamers.
It's just not for me. It's like a cross between Mass Effect and Halo.
Your comment would only make sense to Xbox and Bungie gamers as PS and PC gamers haven't really experienced any of bungies games so far.
For all we know they could be crap at creating multiplayer games and Xbox gamers are just biased :)
No it hasn't.
H1Z1 is for PC only atm and Destiny isn't even coming to PC.
Destiny seems to be pretty generic from what I've seen so far. There's nothing redeeming about it. It's just a FPS MMO.
Early Access games are a set price sometimes cheaper than launch but with H1Z1 it's higher as it's a F2P MMO you just get to play much earlier.
You don't pay any more on final release. It'll be $20 for Early Access and that's it.
Direct X 12 is primarily for the PC to improve performance and code at a lower level nearer to the metal like consoles do now.
Xbone already codes to the metal so you can't get any lower than that.
They might be minor improvements for Xbone but nothing substantial like there will be for the PC.
I'm a PC gamer so you can't label me a PS fanboy.
Direct X 12 does not have the ability to change the Xbone hardware you ...
I dismissed DayZ as I hate the ARMA2 engine. It's clunky and not very optimised.
I just don't go in for a game that is meant to be "anti-fun" as described by Dean Hall the creator of DayZ.
I bought Rust instead as I wanted a community driven game with player housing but now that's getting a reboot too.
So H1Z1 is the next alternative hardcore survival game with working zombies so I can't wait for Early Access :)
What does Hawken have to do with Crytek?
Adhesive Games developed Hawken and Meteor Entertainment published it.
It is also on the Unreal Engine.
