I think a more appropriate semi exclusive game would be Titanfall.
EA expected much more sales from the game than it got due to it only coming to Xbox consoles and PC.
I don't think any 3rd party game should be exclusive to any platform but I guess the "suits" at MS and Sony think differently.
Tomb Raider won't get high sales on Xbox consoles as it never has. The majority of sales have always come from Playstation and PC w...
Just a shame they don't want to get back into gamers good books as well.
But that's MS all over. They don't give a shit about the gamers just one upping the competition.
And people wonder why MS are so hated :)
I think this is going to have the reverse effect that MS and SE wants.
SE may be kicking themselves come launch of the game if Xbone sales haven't improved much by then. Just like EA and Crytek with Titanfall and Ryse.
Either way big mistake by SE and a good one by MS but will make them even more hated if that's possible.
And do they think PS and PC gamers will buy their other Tomb Raider game (TR and the temple of osiris)?
...
It's £16.98 on steam with 50% off if you already own both games.
I should know I bought it last night :)
I'm happy to support 4A Games.
@VegasDawg It wasn't when I first joined this site. It was an Xbox stronghold. That's when the PS3 was getting all the stick from xbox fanboys and the media.
Karma's a bitch and now the shoe is on the other foot the xbox fanboys don't like it.
I'm in neither camp as I'm a PC gamer and hated by both sides :P
I'm hoping it does Buljo. I loved ACIV and would love to continue the adventure on PC.
I have already preordered AC Unity for PC so will have one AC game to play :)
I still haven't finished ACIV yet as Ubisoft deleted my cloud save when I was at 60% complete. Not been back to it since.
Maybe I could do that before Unity comes out :P
There's me thinking Microsoft owned Windows OS.
It doesn't seem like it as they never support it.
That's BS.
GTA4 was on steam which is a digital store if you didn't know and vgchartz, where you got your data from, doesn't track digital sales.
I'd stop using vgchartz for PC sales data as it's completely inaccurate.
Go check DayZ sales on vgchartz (which has sold over 2mil copies so far) and see what it says if you don't believe me :)
@Perjoss I'm guessing you looked at vgchartz for the PC sales numbers.
GTA4 was released on steam and other digital stores which vgchartz don't track.
Vgchartz is only good for retail sales and retailers don't stock PC games much now.
Approx 80% of people buy PC games digitally now.
So vgchartz is useless for PC sales data.
PC gamers have been waiting for GTA5 for ages. This is going to sell a lot just on the PC.
I will be getting the game too even though I've completed it on PS3. I sold my PS3 copy and got back what I paid for it.
Now I get to play the game on my platform of choice, the PC. :)
Let's hope they fixed the multiplayer this time around.
I only preorder games when I can get them cheaper than RRP. I couldn't give a crap about preorder incentives as most are complete crap.
Games I've currently preordered are Far Cry 4, AC Unity and Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor. All 3 of these games were under £25 each.
To compare steam were selling AC Unity and Far Cry 4 for £50 until they removed them due to the massive complaints they got because of the price hike.
Ubisoft ...
No it only matters to console and PC elitists as well as the media.
Anyone that's just a gamer I don't think gives a shit about res, fps etc. They just play games they like :)
If only there was a survey for PS4/Xbone owners playing on 720p TVs :)
I play at 1680 x 1050 res as it was the best monitor I could afford at the time.
I don't consider myself a "PC Master Race" whatever the hell that means but I do game primarily on PC.
I also have a PS3 sat besides me too. Been playing some RDR for a 2nd time around. Love the game.
Will be getting a new graphics card as well next week ready fo...
@Shakengandulf I'd regret buying a PC for that price too. WTH did you buy a PC that expensive for? Especially when you hate them hehe.
You can buy the development kit now for Oculus Rift. It's working with a few PC games.
There is nothing on consoles.
Where do you think the "booming and ever improving Indie and F2P market" came from? Most, if not all of those games, came from PC.
"Fastest selling console" means nothing to the PC market as the product is already there for PC due to not having to be backwards compatible as the games work on PC on all systems.
PC had Oculus Rift first but not sure where it's heading due to Facebook buying it out.
It just seems that con...
It's what the media and console fanboys have been saying about PC gaming for the past 15-20 years.
Why is it any different when the media/blog says it about consoles?
It doesn't make it true. Just more trolling.
@PrinceOfAllSaiyans I bet you can't. Maybe 40-50% of them.
Console gamers don't seem to realise how many PC exclusives there is.
I have 871 games on steam and most console gamers will probably have never heard of most of them.
Your loss. Your console games is a dip in the ocean compared to how many good/great PC games there is.
OT: Aaron Greenberg still has a job at Microsoft? Man they must be desperate to still emplo...
@AnimeAvenger Halo 1 and 2 was on the PC.
Microsoft didn't put Halo 3 and 4 on PC as they didn't want to share their toys with the other kids :)
MS will make some excuse as to why they aren't bringing the Halo Collection to PC and then say they are fully supporting the PC by bringing a mobile game to the platform like the did with Halo Spartan Assault :P
Yeah it must cost a lot to be apart of your exclusive "family".
If the only way MS can get exclusives is to buy them from 3rd party publishers they must be really desperate.
Another way is for MS to actually invest in and grow their brand with 1st party developers so they can actually have true exclusives instead of pissing off half of the gaming community by buying them from 3rd parties.
