Exactly. Digital game codes typically take much longer to go on sale(though are more likely to become free over time) plus it can double as a blue ray play as many people use their playstation as a complete home entertainment center(kind of like how nintendo marketed the NES originally).
And if you're like me, you have a sub to gamefly to try a game and this is only possible with physical copies.
Reminds me of the people who complained that Sekiro didn't have an easy mode. Did these players ever play a game made before 2012? They wouldn't survive the NES and Genesis generation of games that were REALLY hard.
Agreed. Looks like a very well made remake....but it still feels like Demon Souls and TBH, I'm a bit burnt out on the Souls combat engine. Sekiro felt different enough that it didn't feel stale.
Like you, probably in a year or two, I'll pick this up because if you still love that souls combat, or have never played, this has to be a day 1 purchase(assuming you can get a ps5).
Anyone in software development will tell you 3 weeks does not make the difference between an 80 and a 90. Unless they plan to work these guys into the ground for 3 weeks, it'll likely be bug squashing. Another scenario is a rather large bug they had hoped to squash by release but fear they can't. Honestly, I think it's just marketing because the launch titles for PS5 will take up so much hype, releasing in December puts more the spotlight on them.
Make no mistak...
It still looks like alot of people won't be able to buy on launch day tho...Unless there are pre orders I'm not aware of?
Honestly, until Micro bough Bethesda, this looked like another solid console from Micro that will fall behind Sony. Assuming ES6 will at least be a timed exclusive, I could see that convincing alot of gamers to go microsoft. Still, Playstation has basically been king of the more graphical intense gaming console for 4 generations in a row, starting with the PS1.
Everyone lost to the Wii but it was aimed at everyone .
Ummm k. At the end of the day, it comes down to the games, as always. And for 3 generations in a row, on average, the playstation simply has had better exclusives. That's not to say Xbox doesn't have good ones, and all but guaranteeing the next elder scrolls will at least a timed exclusive, the Playstation feels like it's made by a gaming division within Sony, vs the Xbox which feels like it's made by a division that makes games within Microsoft.
So consoles are basically becoming PCs now? How long before you can just jailbreak it and load windows on it and have the ultimate gaming machine?
The emo is strong in this one.
Exactly. Sony already has a huge head start. Plus, if they ever need to add more money, partnerships with the likes of Amazon and Google are always possible...let's be real, there's only so much room in video gaming and google/amazon would be wise to hitch their wagon to a proven winner than try to do it alone.
Agreed, Konami needs to sell their IPs or do something meaningful with them. How hard would it be to farm the IPs out to quality studios? What is it gaining them for the IPs to sit on a shelf collecting dust.
Honestly, I will just keep doing gamefly. $70 for a game is too much. $60 for a game is too much for me.
Would be cool, but I'll bet it was just to show off the graphics in a more cinematic mode.
Looks great...but who else now really really wants a Shadow of Mordor Sequel/Prequel on the PS5?
Looks amazing, feels like Demon's Souls but better. Looks like they did a really good job of staying faithful but making improvements not only to graphics but gameplay.
I thought PS5 was going to be mostly backwards compatible with PS4 games?
I remember N64 games being $70. Interesting that $60 has been the gold standard for this long. I think Genesis/SNES games were $50 new?
Disneyland is the Happiest Place on Earth :)
I'm waiting to see if they improved on the gameplay. If this is just a reskin pack of sorts, then not a must buy. If they reworked and improved the gameplay, then yes! Demon's Souls remains the only Souls game I've finished.
Honestly, I fully expect the next generation to be all digital. I could be wrong as I thought this generation(PS5) had a good chance of being all digital. IMO, it's a matter of time before it does, tho it may be a couple more generations until we can truly say the entire world has high speed internet.
