Right. Can't have it both ways. Either gender means something and therefore feminism means something, or gender means nothing and therefore why would it matter if a woman is a protagonist.
The first game did alot right but there is also alot of room for refinement and improvement. Human to Human combat for example was atrocious. They could easily add more mounts and even flying mounts. Also more ways to take over other machines to result in bigger battles. Great game, lots of room for improvement by really expanding on what they already did.
A game of that scale...they would likely already have announced it as hype for the PS5. We are about 6 months away from the PS5 release which is a perfect time to announce a game, especially a launch game to build hype. No doubt we'll get a sequel and it will be on the PS5...just very unlikely a launch title. Maybe within 6-9 months of PS5 release.
True...the combat actually looked pretty good vs Gothic, which had horrendous combat...but I see what you mean...Gothic seemed more about exploring and the world?
Well, yeah there are alot of examples of going woke directly correlated to bad business outcomes. It's not a hard and fast rule and if your business can thrive catering specifically to super PC people, then it's probably a good biz decision but super PC people are a very loud minority of the country that doesn't always = sales.
The nice thing is they really don't compete against one another. One is an action rpg, the other...an action game. The original NG for xbox 360 was amazing. They could totally recreate that.
Um...pretty sure a company would want to have multiple successful franchises, especially one that dates back more than 30 years.

Can anyone guess why they didn't make DS2 for PS4 look like the preview. The PS4 could absolutely handle the increased graphics but they still didnt do it...why?
Hate to say this but I kinda had a hunch. Not sure why but it felt like a game that would need a little more polishing and bug fixing. CD Projekt has about as stellar a rep in the video game industry as it gets. If they feel the game needs a little more dev time, go for it.
The problem I see is games are being announced WAY too early now. Announce a game when you realistically have about 1 year to go.
Was thinking the same thing. Before Sekiro/Nioh, there wasn't really a whole lot of Ninja games recently. A ninja assasin's creed game fits on so many levels. Really surprised they never made one. Now IMO would not be a good time because we are kind of saturated with them. Maybe in 5 years.
1 is a flawed gem. The combat is...interesting. In 2, they really refined it but still is a little clunky. IMO, I would watch a story vid on 1 and then play through 2. IMO 2 has a slightly better overall story than 3.
Honestly, the world is so deep, there could be 2 or 3 games with Ciri and even other Witchers. Geralt tho is such a good character, it would be a shame for there not to be more game with him as the lead.

They can, but generally, you don't want to announce a game this far in advance unless you have to. Generally you want to wait about a year, so the initial announcement creates buzz and you keep that going all year. This is over 2 years away. From a marketing perspective, it's better to wait.
Um k. Didn't they just say don't expect DA4 until 2022? It's 2019? What could possibly interest us at this point?
Fresh Meat! The first real test of D1
Honestly, hack n slash games aren't the most complex in the world to create. The story in Diablo games also has been good enough but never it's selling point. If this were any other studio, probably out in a year-ish...Blizzard...2-3 tho we have no idea how long this has been in development. The last game they released was Overwatch in 2016. D3 was 2012. It could release maybe Fall of next year.
At this point, The Witcher is a AAA IP...they would be monumentally foolish to not make more games. Plus, there is so much lore they can dive into, it won't get stale for a long while.
