Eh, people buy the vast majority of games, not journos. I remember I think it was around Sekiro you had these little opinion pieces about how FromSoft should make their games more accessible and how it being so difficult limited disabled people from playing(which was of course was just used so people wouldn't criticism their stupid opinions.

I'm all for including as many people as possible to play your game but some games are more difficult than others and are not f...

I love the new reptile. In almost every previous game, he was just some lackey with no personality who always lost fights in the story.

The series S was an interesting experiment in making Console closer to PCs where you had different levels of graphical ability, but it seems clear it was very misguided. One advantage consoles have always had over PCs was their uniformity(the pro products not withstanding). When you bought game x for console y, you had reasonable faith it would run well on it. Game devs knew this too. They had a consistent bar to reach for each console.

I appreciate the idea of giving gamers a ...

How long has it been since Madden has had competition? Players deserve an alternative because Madden is just resting on it 15 year old laurels

I think Chinese devs are grows leaps and bounds to catch up to western and japanese devs, but one thing ive noticed in alot of their games is very flashy graphics, but games lacking in polish(and story). I hope this one succeeds since it looks like it could be alot of fun.

I am not a game developer(have done a bunch of web development) so unless you are a major studio, it seems like developing your own engine takes time away from game development to develop the engine itself.

Can game devs chime in if it is worth it to develop your own engine vs one that is widely used and has a ton of support?

I'm convinced these whiners wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes in the era of NES difficulty

I will say with all the studios Microsoft is buying and has bought, while they likely have already lost this generation, they could actually win next gen. Just throws money at the problem lol

As games have become more capable, and dev teams increase in size, the old lines between rpg, action, adventure etc are fading. A game can have a deep story, meaningful choices, and great combat. Before, you had to massively prioritize one over the other. Not so anymore. RPG elements infiltrate action games and action gameplay infiltrates RPGs

What's really amazing is despite all of Microsoft's money, the PlayStation has consistent been the console with more must have exclusives. I didn't realize until I looked into it but Microsoft is MUCH bigger than Sony. Money =/= greatness

What's sad is this could have been a 3rd in the Shadow series that was so good.

Yeah from the minute I heard about this, my first thought was "why would I want to play as Gollum....what can he do?". Maybe if it was more heavy story based game where gameplay wasn't as important.

Same. I can't remember the last demo I played for a game that I thought would be great. Still, let's say you are a more casual gamer and see "oh a demo for FF16...yeah i'll check it out", then I think demo's are great.

I think FF16 will be amazing and can't wait for it. I get traditional FF fans may not like it moving in a more wesern direction but that's exactly WHY I'm excited for it.

Go with me here...Final Fantasy...

There are two logical reasons a 3rd party dev would go exclusive: to maximize one platforms technology or because they feel they could make more money(i.e. the console maker paid them)...given the closeness in graphics capability between the PS5 and XBSX, that only leaves one option :)

Konami is the worst IP publisher because not only do they not create/publish games with beloved IPs, they prevent others from doing so because they own the IPs.

It's like fine, you want to make gambling machines...license your IPs to good studios!!!!!

This is awesome. The game world is so huge and the core mechanics so good, it would be a waste not to have DLCs(although one could have said the same about bloodborne, i think that may have been derailed because it was a joint venture with sony, not from soft alone)

Agree, the horseback combat is quite simple compared to unmounted, and for a first attempt, that's ok. There are clearly bosses meant to be fought on horseback, but there aren't so many that by the end the horse combat felt boring.

That said, now that they have a base to build from, they need to make horse combat more full featured in future games...From's history shows they do not just rest on their gameplay laurels...each game feels like a good improvement on ...
