Sorry for the confusion. No, visually, it looks a little better than Odyssey. I mean gameplay wise. The reason I mentioned GoW4 is simply the setting are similar but GoW4 felt fun and fresh and from the leaked gameplay we've seen, AC:V looks like an Odyssey DLC.
I'd be more worried that from the gameplay we've seen, this looks about 10x worse than GoW4. At some point, people will stop buying AC games because they are cookie cutter games.
Seems like they know they've made a great game and aren't afraid of the review scores. That said, sometimes, it's not the devs who decide this but the publisher, even with really good games, the embargo isn't until release day.
Right. Fact is video games should strive to be realistic where possible and it makes sense, but good gameplay should always win against realism because unless you're developing a simulator, games are meant to be fun.
Agreed. CDPR has more than earned enough respect to delay this until it's ready. They are the anti Blizzard.
Exactly. At this point, game consoles are more like multimedia entertainment centers, playing games, streaming services etc...but chromecast can do that for $30 bux. You pay $3-600 for a console for the games, and it's always the games that will drive a console's sales. Good games equal console sales.
So it's a remake not a remaster. IOW, it's built from the ground up, not just the original with higher res graphics?
Perma-death is great in theory. Really makes each fight feel like...well a true fight to the death. The problem is if the AI is not spot on perfect, you could loose 20 hours of progress over a glitch.
Nintendo has the family/kid market locked up flat. As long as they keep releasing amazing first party games you can't get anywhere else, they'll always do well.
Yeah, PS4 had some AMAZING exclusives. I've been a PS owner since PS1 and never regretted my decision to get it over the competition.
Dragon's Dogma 2....please??????????????????
Seems cool, but a Norse assassin does feel a little off. As long as they fix the gameplay from Odysee where every fight felt more or less the same, and bosses being super human damage sponges.
wow this looks....not good...why would you show off the game in this state?
This told us nothing we didn't already know.
Makes sense. Norse and Greek Gods were worshipped by people in literal history. It's not like Game of Thrones or The Witcher which takes place in literally a different geographic world. GoW games take place in actual Greece and Northern Europe...just in their universe, those places have real gods.
Agree 100% The first LoS game was AMAZING. It really cut out all the fat from the Dracula origin story and really threw a curveball with Gabriel. It was a great action game, with great voice acting and a great story. With LoS2, it felt like they had 60-70% of the story fleshed out and then quickly had to fill in the holes.

The whole Alucard almost kills his dad and removes his memory in a plot to overthrow Zobek and Satan was ...
Right. They own the IP...just allow another good studio to use it for a while if you're just going to sit on it. Reminds me of the Legacy of Kain IP. If SqareEnix isn't going to make games with it...fine...license it out.
Agreed. Also, for the first Lords of Shadow to be so far down(#12) is a major mistake. I know the games were divisive but taken for what they were, it was a great action game with a very good story that actually streamlined the origin of Dracula and the story in general in a really cool way.
The story for LoS2 wasn't as good but still a very good game IMO.
Polygon's credibility is in the toilet. They have an overarching social justice agenda and their reviews are a joke.
