I like that it's slower. In D3, the enemies felt like a speedbump. In D2 and D1, they were real threats and the game didn't just throw endless enemies at you. Each enemy was a threat(not Dark Souls level but a threat).

Looks friggin amazing. D3 felt like it really didn't innovate that much. It was pretty but the world didn't feel tangible. This looks like your character is really interacting with the world. Assuming the game runs well, will be a near day 1 purchase for me.

This is what happens when the eccentric genius has no boundaries. That said, Kojima has produced 4 of my favorite games of all time(MGS 1, 3, 4, 5) so his track record was very good. It feels like he really wants to direct movies but no one will fund him, but people will fund his games so he turns those into movies. The difference was we care about Snake/Big Boss and the gameplay was good for its time(not amazing, but good enough) where the story carried you thru. This game looks like everyth...

Haven't seen a game this divisive in a while as far as review scores. Seems like people are either giving it game of the decade type scores or 60s. IGN gave 6.8 while Gamespot 9+. Very odd. I love the Metal Gear franchise, and accept it's quarks, but they were always fun to play, while having a fantastic story. This looks like a tech demo for a new engine.

Seriously right. I'll bet money it was done because Bioware is not having a good recent history and they just threw this trailer together in a couple days to "assure" fans one of the only IPs they haven't screwed up is coming back.

Exactly. I have a 4k tv...how much 4k content do i watch...almost none...anyone wanna take a guess how long until 8k content is mainstream?

Also, the higher the resolution, the bigger the tv you need to appreciate it. If you have a 55" tv, will 8k even look different than 4k?

Do we know the genre of Death Stranding other than hiking simulator? Love Kojima but they me have given him a bit too much freedom here.

Unless there is a GotY in the PS5 (near)launch lineup, it's usually a good idea to wait about 1 year after a new console release. Allow the price to come down a bit, enjoy the last gen gems that are still coming out. Basically my MO is wait until a game comes out you absolutely must play and can only do so on next gen.

For the PS4, it was Shadow of Mordor.

Excellent comparison. It does feel "NES hard". Dark Souls also has built in safety valves for the difficulty. Summons and especially DS1, a mage was capable of cake walking thru some boss fights, less so in later titles.

Basically, when I first played Demon's Souls, I had to re train my brain for this style gameplay. The gameplay that essentially says "you are suppose to loose your first few times fighting a boss". I remember writing a review on Game...

Sounds more like a Souls game.

So Kojima and the public are in the same boat. As of now, it looks like a hiking simulator. I've loved every main series Metal Gear solid game except for 2, so Kojima has a great track record with me but we'll see if completely unchained, what Kojima will do.

Seamus in 1986's Metroid. Let's be real though, alot of video games are about a character killing things(usually bad guys), and that's more a male behavior and such so it makes sense that player characters would tend to skew male.

That said, I could honestly care less what sex the playable characters is if the gameplay and story are good.

New Castlevania please!!!! Metal Gear...without Kojima....go ahead and try it but you better have a GREAT team.

Perhaps because the gameplay so far looks like a walking simulator?

If this were a souls game, where everyone kind of knows the formula, i'd agree, but this is the first we've seen Kojima completely unshackled from Konami and we know almost nothing about the gameplay other than it looks like a walking simulator.

Excited for Spawn and Sindel.

Honestly, this looks like a pretty good action game that will live or die on it's story. That said, little sad CD is making this vs another Legacy of Kain game but w/e.

This looks really good. Was the original good?

Bioware as a whole should be fine. Dragon Age is a very healthy IP and if they release a good Mass Effect game next time, that series is as well. The thing is the current bioware isn't really the same bioware from baldur's gate or even the first dragon age.

That said, they do have well knwon and largely well loved franchises to draw on. Even Anthem 2(if it's made) could be a hit if they fix fix what fans didn't like about anthem 1)
