A couple full games available on PSN is nowhere close to being equal to what Microsoft just announced.
Why isn't Xbox LIVE free? Because it is by far the best online service and its customers would rather pay for an exceptional service than have a mediocre free service.
I like having the choice. I usually prefer disc based games, but it will be nice to have the choice. Sure, we can get LIVE Arcade games and PSN games and even a couple full-sized games on PSN, but this is on a whole new level and will be really good to increase the options available to Xbox 360 gamers.
Well, is Halo ODST a full game or not? You can't have it both ways. In any case, Halo Wars was a completely different kind of game so it can't be considered to just be rehashing the same old gameplay.

Killzone 2's graphics are great, but definitely over hyped. Lighting is good, but there is quite a bit of low-res shadow maps and aliasing. The textures are decent, but nothing special. Quite a bit of slow down in some parts as well.
In terms of fun and core gameplay mechanics Killzone 2 is nowhere near as fun as Halo in my opinion.

I have to agree. Microsoft have innovated like nobody else this generation. The improvements and evolution to LIVE this generation have just been staggering. And the games themselves have been outstanding. I can honestly say that Microsoft have created my favorite console platform ever.

Splinter Cell Conviction is going to be one of the top games this fall, without a doubt. It looks amazing and only a completely biased fanboy would deny that.
Alan Wake and Splinter Cell Conviction look as good as anything on the PS3. You guys need to get your eyes checked.
Oh and the Sony conference better be mind blowing or it is going to be a huge disappointment, considering the way you guys are criticizing the Microsoft conference and hyping Sony's.

Get real. They both buy exclusive content, they just do it in slightly different ways. Microsoft make a deal with a developer to make one game, or one piece of DLC, or one franchise. BS. The Microsoft press conference blew me away. As a dual-console owner I was more than satisfied with the Microsoft showing. So many good games coming and huge announcements in terms of Xbox LIVE and the new gestural control system. Not to mention the huge megaton that was the MGS Rising announcement.

I thought Microsoft's press conference was outstanding. It surpassed my expectations. If Sony's is as good or better I will be truly blown away and will have more stuff to look forward to on my two consoles than I can possibly handle.
I agree, that showing was amazing. It surpassed every seemingly unrealistic expectation I had. I can't wait to see what Sony have to show us. It's going to need to be huge though, to live up to what Microsoft just did.
To be honest, I was blown away by the Microsoft conference. It was as good as I could have possibly expected. The amount of stuff they announced I still haven't digested it all.
