I borrowed my cousin's Zune for a couple months and I really loved it. This new Zune HD sounds and looks amazing. I can't wait until we find out more about it. I already know I am getting it though.

Bullsh*t. Some of the best games this gen have been Ubisoft games. Assassin's Creed and Prince of Persia to name just a couple.
Two of the my personal most anticipated upcoming games are Ubisoft games--Assassin's Creed 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.
I'm already ready for the next generation. So many games this generation are running on engines that are struggling to keep steady frame rates, avoid screen tearing and provide good level of anti-aliasing. That said, I don't think we will see a new console from any of the players until the end of 2010 at the earliest.
Ubisoft is a great company and it is good to hear that they are already working on stuff for the next generation.
I thought the demo was really fun. In fact I was surprised by how much fun I had. All these good scores just confirm it.
I'm telling you guys, we're living through a time when gaming is the best it has ever been. The breadth and quality of games on offer between the three consoles (ok well maybe mainly two;) is just amazing. After E3 I think all of our heads are going to explode. I can hardly keep up as it is.

This game is getting rave reviews all around and even though it does seem to be higher than the impression the demo gave me I am sure it is a super fun game.

Well you can say that all you want and the developers can say whatever they want, but that doesn't change the fact that the 360 version DOES LOOK BETTER. Just compare them yourself, if you have both consoles, and you will see what I am saying.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I will be getting this for my 360. I compared both versions of the demo and there is no doubt about it, the 360 version looks and runs better. It is still completely playable on the PS3 but the 360 version is better so I don't see anything wrong with what Saren Arterius said.

People said the same thing last year about the PS3 having the best lineup but by the time the holidays rolled around everybody could see that the 360 had the better lineup. Those games also sold better. That doesn't mean that you have to think those games were better but that is the only objective way that you can measure which games were more in demand and desirable. Otherwise it just comes down to everybody's personal preference and there is no way to measure which system had the better ...
I am like you guys in that I have a 360 and a Ps3. I play my 360 the most and I do think it is the best console available, but that doesn't mean I think the PS3 is a piece of crap. It's not. It is really starting to come into its own.
But Brock, you make a great point, the 360 has been providing this stuff for a couple years now. Great games, awesome online gaming, achievements for every game, etc.

Well, the gap has only widened over the past half year. The 360 was a little over 5 million ahead and now it is about 7 or 8 million ahead.
But the reason I think microsoft has done really well is because they have increased their user base at the same time the PS3 has only maintained a fraction of the PS2 user base. Nobody thought the 360 would do as well against the PS3 as it has, let alone be ahead of it.

Oh so its only the developers faults that multiplatform games look better on the 360 (not that the 360 is a powerful and efficient machine to work with), but the reason a couple PS3 exclusives look so good is largely because the PS3 is so powerful? Which is it? Are developers the primary determiner of how a game looks or is it the performance capabilities of the console, or an equal mixture of both? A little consistency would be nice.

Edit: Oh btw, I own Uncharted and Gears of War. Guess which game I like more. It might surprise you, but it's Uncharted. I do think Uncharted looks better than Gears of War, but only by a slim margin. Anybody claiming there is some vast difference between them is not being honest with themselves.

Exactly. A quick comparison of the games on both consoles shows that it is the PS3 that tends to have the most problems with aliasing and screen tearing. And not just multiplatform games. Uncharted had good anti-aliasing, but there was quite a bit of screen-tearing present. Infamous on the other hand doesn't have screen-tearing (that I have seen yet), but it has significant amounts of aliasing.

If what we have seen of Alan Wake so far is indicative of how the 360 version will look I would have to say that Alan Wake is more graphically impressive. Both games have me intrigued though.

Stealing what idea? What idea did Apple invent? A portable media device? Hardly. They simply made improvements to the idea, the same as Microsoft is doing.
I bet you didn't complain when Sony copied the achievement system or any of the other ideas that Microsoft brought to consoles first.
The Zune HD looks to be exactly what I have been wanting in a portable media device and I can't wait for it.
