Gears of War was never about horror. All three games seem to have the same basic approach.
Also, as far as Gears 3 failing, would the author like to make a bet? I will bet my house that Gears 3 will have excellent retail success and solid critical success.
Guys, we need to take things down a notch. Gears of War 3 looks like a very nice improvement over Gears of War 2 and I won't say that it is impossible that it will be better looking than Uncharted 2. However, I think we need to wait until the game is released to really judge it.

Halo Reach IS a beautiful game.
That does look awesome. Too bad its fake. I do love the fact that people can make custom themes for the PS3. The community always creates far more diverse themes than Sony would ever have the time or resources to do. Plus, we can get all of those themes for free. I know they aren't dynamic themes, but it's still great.
If you can't tell the difference in the quality of graphics and animations between Halo Reach and Section 8 you truly have a problem. Halo Reach has much better graphics and animations than Section 8.
That isn't to say that Section 8 isn't a pretty fun game in its own right, it's just that Halo Reach is definitely more polished.
God of War 3 blew my socks off and some parts I might even have to say were more impressive than anything I saw in Uncharted 2. On the other hand, Uncharted 2 has a consistently high quality of graphics throughout the whole game. God of War 3 had some parts that weren't that good. Uncharted 2 wins in my mind simply because it looks amazing pretty much the whole time. I have never seen a more consistent game.
I agree with you that Dead Space belongs there more than those other games. Dead Space on the PS3 was actually quite good. I have played and beat both the 360 version and the PS3 version of Dead Space and they are pretty close. I wish more developers would do whatever it takes to get the PS3 versions up to where they should be.
All I know is that Naughty Dog must have used some kind of crazy voodoo magic to make Uncharted 2 look as good as it does.
Except Gears 3 has better textures and lighting. Rage looks damn good though.
I hope the PS3 version truly does run at 60FPS with no compromises like screen tearing or lack of anti-aliasing, because I really want to buy more multiplatform games for my PS3.
Wow, that is later than I was expecting. I was expecting the early or middle part of next year, not late next year.
Oh well, the graphics look incredible and hopefully with all that extra time they can create some great gameplay to go along with the amazing visuals.

I thought Bioshock looked great. It's still one of the better looking games today.
If you think the campers are such a big deal it's probably because you suck and you don't know how to deal with them. It's not my favorite shooter, but lots of people enjoy it for a reason.
I hate this "holier than thou" attitude some people have. In all honesty I think those people are being the sheep by jumping on the bandwagon of hating on Call of Duty.
Yes, that's why the Call of Duty games are some of the best selling games on the PS3 by far.

Quit trolling. I actually enjoyed the narratives in the past 2 Gears of War games. I am anxious to see where the story goes for the 3rd game.
I am already blown away by what we already know about Reach. The fact that they say they have more to reveal is just crazy. This game is going to be played for a long, long time.
Yeah, my PS3 does the same thing. I have an original fat PS3 and it heats up my room quite well.
I could see this happening. EA obviously has some special affection for Sony right now and even Valve has come around to the PS3. Given those two factors I could see this easily happening. I am sure Valve and EA will want Left4Dead 3 to come out on the PS3, so why not release the first two games on PS3 to allow people to catch up.
Who knows, though, it might be false.
