It's absolutely worth every penny if you are the kind of gamer that can appreciate an excellent single player game without multiplayer. I loved it. It is honestly one of my favorite games this generation.
Yeah, I don't see that big of a difference either.
I am so excited by what they are doing with Forge World. It looks awesome.
I totally agree. It seems like they have listened to everything people have ever wanted and figured out what really works and is valuable, and built this amazing game. That's the way it's looking anyway.
That's too bad. Halo is one of my favorite games. I see that a lot though. People that aren't good at something tend not to like it.
Um, COD4, Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and Batman Arkham Asylum are better on the 360. Burnout Paradise was exactly equal on both consoles. FFXIII was better on the PS3. Go read the comparisons over at Digital Foundry.
Both consoles have a few 1080P titles, but most games this generation are 720p.
Both consoles also have a few sub-HD exclusives, like MGS4 and Ratchet & Clank on the PS3, and Halo 3 and Alan Wake on the 360.
Somebody already proved up above that the 360 and PS3 both have a similar amount of sub-HD exclusives. The PS3 has games like Ratchet & Clank and MGS4. The 360 has games like Alan Wake and Halo 3.
I did want to say though that being sub-HD doesn't always have much of an impact on the overall visual quality of a game. It depends on how they lay out the frame buffer and the quality of the upscaling that they use.
No, I have to mostly agree with Alvadr. I have played both versions and the 360 version is noticeably better.
Yeah, I like the PS3 fat that I have better than the slim models. I like the glossy black finish with the chrome/silver accents. I have never understood people complaining about fingerprints on glossy black finishes. I just don't understand that. I have my PS3 sitting there and I wipe the dust off of it occasionally, but other than that it just sits there and I have no reason to touch it except right where the buttons are.
Anyway, I love the piano black finish of th...
It looks great in my opinion.
Who picks up their console while a game is playing. I mean, like DUH!
Alan Wake is brilliant. It was one of the best game experiences I have ever had. I can't wait to play more.
The amount of content Reach has is freaking insane. I'll be busy with this game for a long, long time.
Amazing, stunning, gorgeous, fantastic, awesome...
That's stupid. It's like me saying I love Uncharted 2 but all the worship has me this close to calling it overrated. Why can't you just think on your own and like what you like?
I love Uncharted and I love Halo. Other people's opinions aren't going to change my opinions about those franchises.
This does look amazing. They have made a lot of improvements to the engine in terms of rendering foliage and better lighting and shadows.
Edit- for all the skeptics, I'm going mainly off what I saw in the demo. Most of these screenshots look similar to what we saw in the demo. The lighting has been improved--I love how you see rays of sunlight filtering through the trees--and the foliage is also definitely much improved.
I had a lot of fun with the first Echochrome so this should be great.
That is a good deal. Personally the $150 isn't too high for me, but it's always nice to save money.
In my opinion Uncharted 2 still has not been matched. God of War 3 looks really good, but it doesn't have the overall quality and consistency of Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 is still the best looking game on the PS3 in my opinion. It's kind of hard to say because all the top games have their pros and cons, but that's basically how I feel.
How in the wold can you say it looks worse than Dante's Inferno? It looks a lot better. The lighting and texture detail is substantially better. I think you need to get some glasses.
