Wow, don't you just love communism and authoritarian governments?
Genesis was awesome. I loved playing the Sonic games and MUSHA and the Shinobi games. The SNES was also really great. I loved both those consoles.
That's the one I have--the 80GB backwards compatible model. I love it.
It gives me Blu-ray, nearly 100% backwards compatibility (at least it has worked with every PS2 game I own), built-in Wifi, card readers, and plenty of USB ports. I realize the Slims have most of that stuff too and they are also great systems.
It really is a pretty amazing piece of hardware. It plays three generations of games (PS1, PS2 and PS3), two generations of movie formats (DV...
I absolutely agree with you about the exclusives. The PS3 kicks the 360's butt when it comes to exclusives. 90% of the games I own on the PS3 are exclusives and they are awesome.
Where I don't agree with you is on the cross-platform differences. I keep wanting to buy more multiplatform games for my PS3, but everytime I do a comparison I can't bring myself to buy the PS3 version. So many times the PS3 version has a choppier frame rate, more screen tearing, more...
I think some people are misunderstanding things. The graphics will only be somewhat downgraded for 3D, but 2D will offer the amazing graphics that we are all expecting. What Guerrilla said about the optimizations for the 3D aspect of the game positively benefiting the graphics performance of the 2D version makes sense to me.
I think the non-3D version of Killzone 3 will surpass what we saw in Killzone 2, while the 3D version will have some cutbacks but will be amazing in it...
This is good news. I'm happy to hear it.
It will be kind of nice that the PS3 will be able to get many of the same games that come out on Wii.
Now, some of you are probably saying "wait, what? Why would that be nice?" Well, if it brings more gamers to the PS3 then that is nothing but a good thing. It means more money for Sony to invest in the hardcore gaming experiences we all love.
I don't think we hardcore gamers should feel threatened by the casual market.
When the indust...
I think both have a lot of potential, but I'm not sure I will be getting either of them just yet. I do like that Sony is already showing hardcore gaming uses for Move. I think Kinect has plenty of potential for hardcore gaming, but so far MS seems focused on launching this to the casual market.
Yep, Halo and Killzone are pretty much my favorite as well. Especially if we are talking online and stuff. There are some other great FPS like Half-Life and Bioshock, but as far as online it's Halo and Killzone all the way for me.
Yep, I have both consoles and I like both, but the PS3 does have better exclusives.
Like I said before, Sony just absolutely kills at exclusives. They are the best. No other console maker can match the quality, variety and quantity of exclusives on the PS3.
All I know is that Halo Reach is going to be an amazingly epic game. It is my most anticipated game this year.
I agree with you. I don't see how one or the other is any better looking.
I like the new NXE dashboard a lot better than the old blades dashboard or the XMB. It's smooth and is loaded with functionality.
When I pop a new game into my PS3 and am forced to install part of it that isn't the same thing as having the CHOICE to fully install any of my 360 games. The two situations aren't the same thing at all.
One is a feature, the other is an annoying hassle when you aren't wanting it.
There are always companies out there that make some useless peripheral hoping to make a buck.
So somebody forcing you with a gun to do push ups whenever they choose is the same as you deciding when you want to do exercise or if you want to exercise at all?
I don't understand people that equate mandatory installations with a feature allowing you to install games if you choose.
That's true that in the end it comes down to taste, but I think he was talking about the impact it would have on retail success.
Then what exactly was your point, tyrex?
It's obvious all redesigns are going to have some re-purchases. The PS3 slim had them, the DS had them, and the 360 S has them. It doesn't mean much.
It certainly does seem that you were trying to troll in some way. Besides the fact that your comment was a "no duh" comment.
Mass Effect 2 is definitely a worthy game of the year candidate. I loved every minute of it, as I did with Uncharted 2.
Other great games this year are GOW3, Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, Starcraft 2, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Little Big Planet 2 and Halo Reach (those last two are educated guesses).
Wow, what a year!
