Yeah this is reason enough to look at the 3DS. I did hope for a proper console release of some kind though - would have settled for MGS4 Expansion, or even Snake Eater re-master on 360/PS3.

Guess I'm waiting for those.

Welcome to MS marketing, done by Sony...

Well, there seems to be so much I guess different people spotted different things.

What seems strange though is given that MS decided to fake this stuff, why didn't they do a better job? The next question is, what are they concerned about?

Is it only lag, or is there something else? Is the code not ready yet to demo this live? Is the tracking system prone to drop outs, or inaccuracies? Does the system only work in conditions they couldn't guarantee in...

Um - E3 isn't over yet how can you say there is no console announcements coming. There's strong rumours of PSP2, the 3DS and there's a possibility Ninty might drop something else about Wii HD I suppose (ok that's remote).

But on top of all that, why the petulent tone? The consoles are selling decently considering the economic environment - why should any of them decide to announce new hardware, effectively choking sales of the existing consoles (which as yet, ...

Not much known about it yet but I think there is a PS Move version too from something I read yesterday....

Sony have already made a ton of announcements over the last few weeks.

At first I felt that Sony were doing that because their line up wasn't strong enough to compete at E3 with what they expected from MS.

Now we know MS have made a massive miscalculation and Natal is going to bomb, I wonder if Sony have been caught out a bit and don't have anything with which to capitalise on MS's failure.

Or maybe Sony got all the games announce...

Molyneux has a pivotal role in the Xbox product line - he must shoe horn Kinect in somewhere.

OR to put it another way, if even Molyneux won't find some use for it in Fable, then what hope is there that 3rd parties will embrace it?

Not only that, but Fable is 360's only first party exclusive still on the Radar - GeOW and Reach are both 2nd/3rd party developments (with IP owned by MS of course). Fable & Lionhead are the only somewhat big names left...

The vast majority of 360 owners out there will just buy the multiplats and Halo/GeOW and wonder why there seem to be more and better games on the PS3.

Once they can afford it they'll just buy a PS3 and play its games.

Those people don't know what E3 is, they don't care either.

It's only a relatively small number of people who even care to comment.

So, if MS have a winning product it will sell no matter what an...

Remember last year when Ninty showed the pulse rate monitor (what the hell did they call it again?).

Anyway, everyone realised then the emperor had no clothes. The Wii could have been an act of marketing genius, or just pure dumb luck from a company desparate to change it's fortune. The pulse monitor was a stupid cash in on the the Wii fit fad and demonstrated Ninty were just fumbling in the dark and not really heading in a specific direction.

This year&#...

Bear in mind MS (and those who are rabid in their love of MS) are the ones guilty of using grand terms to describe Kinect and it's impact on gaming.

Here we are at the reveal and there is a huge gap between what was promised and what appears to be delivered.

There's shock, anger, disappointment etc. There were jibes about a glorified Eyetoy being thrown around for the last few months, but I think most people didn't believe that.

I...

I can see that being fun .... once.... maybe.

You really want to "walk around" - or to be accurate lean around, to see a car in 3D rather than have accurate control using a pad?

Not only that but then there is the gameplay demo. The lag appears to be very bad - so much so the guy cannot get around 1 corner without hitting the barrier or even pass a car on a straight without running into it.

Not only that, but you have to hold your a...

Yeah Ubi > MS this year but MS set the bar very low so that wasn't difficult lol.

Ubi are also desparate to sell their Wii games again with Kinect.

What I found irritating though were their gimmicks.

AC - Ok let's throw in some GoW style fighting and some cannon scenario - not really in keeping with AC is it.

GR - Let's ignore the semi-realistic/tactical near future setting, and just throw in a predator suit so...

What I don't get is why Lucasarts make such stupid choices.

People were hoping for a good lightsaber based Wii game and it never came. Surely a light saber game is best served by having a saber like controller in your hand a'la Wiimote or PS Move.

So why are they investing in Natal where you have no physical contact with the saber (or feedback in terms of rumble) at all?

Just too many weird choices on display at this E3.

Um the camera Hardware is called PSEye. PSEye for the PS2 had a few games released for it under the name EyeToy.

EyeToy was fun for about 30 mins (or an hour if you were under 10).

Eyeoty was a game where the PSEye cam put you in the game and you moved around to do..... Heck it's easier to watch a Kinect demo than describe - that's EyeToy.

So it's being slammed because
a) Eyetoy is over 5 years old stuff
b) It was...

The problem is :

"What isn’t so great are the judgements that seem to have already been cast both for and against Kinect’s success in providing NEW PLAY EXPERIENCES."

There aren't any new play experiences. What MS have shown is Eyetoy. Eyetoy was short lived fun 5 years ago - now we want more.

Up to E3 there was a feeling that MS were hiding some megaton gameplay - it looks like they weren't.

That's why ...

Seems like Sony can win this one by doing nothing. MS have gone down in my estimations after this... There was no secret stuff at all - they really just have nothing right now.

I guess those CoD maps are what passes for exclusives on Xbox now :/

and Kojima is a 3rd party.

And they did say he could come back and wait before the show.

So what's the problem. I'm a fan of MGS, but let's not lose perspective here - Kojima is one dev, Sony is the platform and that's the hierarchy.

I think it looks lame.

The original GRs were poor but at least somewhat realistic - this just looks like they wanted to make a predator game but couldn't get the license.

Besides which, the invis. will work for the first portion then there'll (have to) be some mechanism by which the enemy see you when cloaked (note reference to thermal goggles in demo) so that it is rendered useless anyway.

This is casual gaming..... They've added...

1) I'm guessing Zipper may either disallow controller/Move games or make them a non-default option

2) Assuming they don't help controller users with auto-aim, Move users will be more accurate.

I read the comments and thought the vids would be bad - but having just watched them they're worse than I thought.

The top vid shows some Eyetoy style gameplay and then they're watching a vid - Mom asks Dad to fast forward and the guy does so using what appears to be an extremely laggy and slow motion interface. Why replace a controller/remote for such a poor replacement?

Then the driving vid - heh, just stupid.

Capped by the choreogr...
