Bungie first got involved with MS because they thought they were in big financial trouble after they released a game in the far east with some very nasty bugs (HDD destroying).

They took MS's money at the time to ensure they survived and in order to grow and solidify which they've done.

However, Bungie's founders started life working on Apple platforms because that's what they preferred and Marathon was a big deal at the time for Mac gaming.

I find it di...

Could it be that Bungie return to their "spiritual" roots and produce an Apple game?

Apple are getting some gaming momentum suddenly with the Steam + all Valve games getting ported.

Is this a glimpse of the rumored Apple console?

Well - interesting trademark at this stage anywho.

I think German law allows nazi symobology if it is present in artistic works or historic documentation material.

Videogames aren't considered either of those so they get censored whereas films are considered works of art.

If you don't have it already you should get the Singstar viewer on PSN and watch the vids.

Some of them take themselves a bit too seriously *cough* American Idles *cough* but many are simply hilarious!

I suspect that what the Germans wish to avoid is people seeing the nazi symbology as a rallying point for neo-nazis and other undesirables.

So they try and keep the swastikas out of their popular culture. After all, when we on the "winning side" watch a war film, no minds if we take the lessons of that time and "apply" them today - you know, Mount Suirbachi, Dunquerque Spirit etc etc.

Imagine the outcry if Germans watched films of WW2 celebrating ...

Hehe excellent.

Probably these lot trying to get a few more hits on their vids to get the associated trophy....

Still, there are plenty of "racy" vids already uploaded to SingStar so a dodgy French edit probabaly won't stand out unless you make a "song and dance" about it PUN intended hehe.

Well in their defence, firstly this is reminding a lot of a more linear version of STALKER - and for that reason alone it will seem disappointing if you've already played STALKER.

Also, these days, FPS always has some kind of multi. In fact, FPS have always been about multiplayer, at first as an additional mode and latterly as the primary mode with SP tacked on - to not have multiplay in FPS's is unusual and should be justified.

It's like having a car sim with no rac...

Yeah maybe he'd lose some weight.

If the standing didn't help, his poor material would have him eating Ramen once a day in no time lol

Um, if you hadn't noticed Microsoft and Sony are both heavily dependant on the PC market as major income streams - neither of them want it to "die" and not dying includes supporting gaming since that drives hardware and software sales. Without gaming, there'd be no need for curring edge hardware and the software that supports it.

In fact, if the PC Market dies, MS goes with it since that is where the bulk of their corporate revenue is generated.

As for the ...

I've been enjoying Yak3 despite the clunky feel and poor graphics and I hope Yak4 comes west reasonably quickly this time.

However, having a try on the Japanese Yak4 demo I'm disappointed to see the graphics are only a marginal improvement over Yak3 and (at least from what I've seen of the demo) it looks like the game might not be any bigger or more open.

Still, Yakuza is a heavily story driven series and from those comments that looks to be jsut as strong in Yak4 so...

It's a real shame Sony didn't hang on to this license...

While GamesRadar seems to want to support CodeMasters, I think that the F1CE shots look better and having played that game, certainly feel it's a better F1 sim/game than codies will produce.

I hope I'm wrong on that, since F1 has become interesting again these last few years and we're lacking a decent F1 sim on any platform.

As an aside, if you're an F1 fan take a look at iracing.com who are implem...

Sony are making a value proposition.

They're betting that people bought the Wii because they like motion control games and the Wii was the only platform for that.

Now Sony offer an alternative that is HD/HDMI, is a Blu-Ray and DVD player, plays high quality non-motion games, offers better in home connectivity, comes with a HDD installed to allow digital media support, has various add-ons, and does the stuff a Wii does (minus the Ninty first party games).

This year calendar or fiscal?

Well it's been so long I guess it doesn't matter any more. I seem to have peaked on GT5 interest about a year ago and as it's gradually gotten further and further away I'm struggling to care anymore.

I hope it's so good it changes my mind, but right now I can't get interested in it - particularly with the NASCAR focus and damage modelling which we've yet to see.

Socom 4 is definitely the biggest potential in this announcement.

Metroid on the Wii was excellent with similar control style. Bringing a better level of control to SOCOM is quite exciting - hope they do a good job with it...

So much ignorance about PC gaming in some of these comments - if you think PC gaming is dead then you are not a gamer; it's as simple as that.

Wow - to read the replies in this thread so far you'd think Steam had no problems and never raised any complaints.

That most certainly is not true - Steam was on release one of the most hated DRM systems around.

I only really saw that start to change with the Orange Box when people saw some value in a big box of good games. At that time, Steam wasn't viewed so dimly. I find it ironic that Gabe had a hand in creating a much loathed system and yet now feels he can tel...

Dubai eh? So now your games can be banned on 3 platforms simultaneously lolz

Anyway, what is it with MS and old stuff? I mean, this is hardly a new thing - it's been done (and found to be a little meh) before on multiple occasions. In fact even this example is pretty poor...

MS need to try and solidify their position in the market with some GAMES - leave the gimmicks for later.

Well from the title alone this looks like a ridiculous article.

Micorsoft don't make games - how can they? They've barely got any first party studios left and those they have are not producing anything good.

So the article's title fails on the basic premise that MS or Apple can destroy one another in the gaming sector since neither does games!

I'm also somewhat surprised at the Apple hate going around here, after all Bungie started life on the Apple plat...

Looks like another great 360 exclusive. Although I tried it on PC already and thought it was only ok.

Still, quantity>quality so let's just have more like this eh?

Major multiplats are supposed to be the 360's home turf and yet one of the biggest multiplats is so poor on 360 I think they should be charging less for it on that platform. Then again, with piracy as it is, I guess not many buy it anywho.

Thanks for playing 360, but this time you get the consolation prize.

OK - let's get to the main event - where're the GOW3 reviews!!! ...
