Nobody knows online gaming better than Microsoft, says Microsoft.

How do you misread the question?
"So Flower is coming to the PS4. Will the same be done with Journey? I'd love to see the game in 1080p and 60 FPS."
How does one misread that to ask whether or not Flower is coming to PS4?

Wasn't there supposed to also be a Muppets one as well as some other Disney stuff?

The only review that matters is how much money the game makes. If people buy it and enjoy it, then it's a successful game.

Opinions from people who dedicate their entire lives to playing games has to be taken with a grain of salt. I bought The Walking Dead because of all the rave reviews of it and for me it was so bad that I wanted to rip my eyeballs out while playing it. I forced myself to finish it because I wanted the Platinum, but if I was scoring it, I'd giv...

The reviews definitely seem to be very polarizing. Some people absolutely love it and give it 8's or 9's while others can't stand it and give it 6's, 5's, or less. The reviews from all the big sites have scores that are all over the place. I guess how much you will enjoy it depends on what kind of games you like to play.
After playing the demo, I originally didn't like it but as it went on, and I got used to the gameplay, I started to really enjoy it.

A little sarcasm, a little truth. Why is it in the gaming realm you can't have an irrational passion toward one team over the other? In football, if you're a Bears fan, you don't go to a Bears/Packers game and say, "I don't care who wins, it's all about the football." You'd get punched in the face if you said that. You have a team, you picked your, and you're going to cheer for your team. And in the case of sports, it's all viewed as perfectly no...

I'm all for the console wars. Pick a side and then protect that side with everything you have. "It's all about the games" is a stupid motto. I could care less about the games on a platform I don't own. I'm not going to buy both systems, so I'll buy the best one and defend it as the best one. Screw the games coming out on the other consoles.

So everyone agrees that these Steam Machines are going to be too damned expensive? That's how it looks to me. Not sure exactly how a $1000 PC hooked up to my TV to play Linux games is going to work, but I think I'll stick with a PS4. For that price I can get a PS4, a Vita, a VitaTV, and a new TV.

This report is rubbish and needs to go back and research what caused the crash of 1983. Gamers today have more great choices than ever for playing video games, and we're not being bombarded by crap after crap. In fact, if anything, we're constantly being bombarded by great, must-play game.
Instead of a gaming crash, it's more like we're entering a golden age of gaming where the tools for making games are widely available and the means for distribution are accessibl...

Right. I think making a handheld gaming console designed for adults is a problem. I think a lot of adults stay away from handheld gaming because they view it as childish. So Sony should advertise the Vita in a way that makes it seem acceptable for grown-up and then while they're at it, make some kid-friendly games and bring some more kids onboard.

I still think that the Vita's biggest problem is that it's a handheld gaming console for adults and in the West, handheld gaming is generally viewed as something kids do. The 3DS is a handheld for children and so it sells well in western markets.
In Japan everyone games on a handheld. In the West, adults game on consoles attached to a TV. I think what will help the Vita the best in the US is the VitaTV, which is why I find it strange that they're releasing it in Japan ...

And so will The Last Guardian. Certain games have gotten hyped to a point where even if it is the greatest game ever made, it could not live up to expectations. Valve has never mentioned Half Life 3 and everyone is hyping it. Sony showed one trailer for a game years ago and it's still a question that constantly comes up.

He's awesome. Good interview.

My question is will the VitaTV just not play these games or will they run but you just can't do certain things? I'd like it so that if I pop in any game it will run and I'll just have to pass on the parts where touch is required.

Exactly! The problem is that Titanfall is being marketed and talked about as an Xbox One game, not as a PC game. So when you show it off on the PC with an Xbox One controller, you're giving off a false impression. Since it's also coming out for the 360, they could just as easily used a 360 controller. Or a mouse and keyboard.

Jonathon Blow was very vocal during E3 that PS4 games were being run on dev kits and not PCs.

And one of Sony's execs (I can't remember which one at the moment) said that when Andrew House said "more than a million pre-orders" that the actual number was closer to 2 million. So figure 2 to 3 million preorders plus enough stock to go on shelves for the holiday season. That's a whole lot of PS4s.

So while Microsoft is cutting back on the number of launch countries, Sony is constantly adding more. This leads me to believe that they are indeed manufacturing these things by the boatload and are going to have more than anticipated for the launch.

GTA V bothers me because it's a big open world game that is also trying to tell a story. The problem for me is that open world games with stories always fall flat. Red Dead Redemption and AC3 are two good examples. You can do so many other things not related to the story that the pacing gets thrown out of whack. In Red Dead your family is held captive until you take down your old gang but for some reason you can spend weeks playing poker or horse shoes and helping some guy pick flower...

I always think about that when the talk of how much money a company is going to spend marketing a product and how that will somehow equal success. You're right in that Windows Phone and Surface commercials are everywhere during football. And then segments will be sponsored by "the new Windows." New Windows? Did I miss something? Are they referring to Windows 8 or is there something even "newer?" None of this worked to sell products, and the more times I saw people...
