I just wish there wasn't a social stigma for being an older video game enthusiast, and to some degree I think it's getting better. It still feels weird to meet new people and say that I've been enjoying The Last of Us or Sly Cooper.

This got me thinking, why does nobody every bring up the fact that only the PS4 has optical audio out? This is one of the details that came out at E3 and was in the news for all of 10 minutes before things moved on. But with all the debate over resolution and frame rate and everything else, the XB1 doesn't have an optical audio out option. You're stuck with HDMI.

I'm reading Jeremy Conrad's tweet differently. I think Gamepur is misinterpreting what he's saying.
He's complaining that all these reviewers are making a big deal out of the PS4 version dropping frame rate from 60 to 50 fps once in awhile and those reviewers make it sound like you shouldn't buy the PS4 version for that reason (despite the fact that you'll hardly notice the slight frame drop).

If only it were that easy. Microsoft has already spent millions in r&d to get the kinect where it is today. They need to include it if they're ever going to get a return on their investment. The xbox one was designed around kinect and I highly doubt they will sell one without it.
what resolutiongate is indicative of is that developers want things to be as easy as possible. Microsoft says the power of the cloud is going to help improve their graphics, but that's just one more hurdle for these guys to jump over. They don't want to deal with esram so god knows they don't want to have to deal with writing to the cloud as well
Not always. When TGS came around somebody asked him if there would be more announcements at the show and he said no, everything had been said at that early presser. A lot of people thought they were just teasing and going to show off something grand at the show, and then nothing happened. Turns out he was telling the truth.

It only works if you go through a cable box. For me, cable is an extra $80 a month.
I use Netflix and Amazon Prime and have more than enough stuff to watch. Or I can play a game, since that's what the console is for.
For TV, the only thing I watch live is football which is free on over-the-air broadcasting. A cheap little antenna plugged into my TV gives me a days worth of football, but I can't plug it into an XB1.
