This means I won't need to buy a second controller to play co-op Knack with my daughter. Just saved $60.
According to Kotaku, you're supposed to feel blah about playing the PS4. That hype you're feeling needs to go away.
Well, I for one would love to have been at a Playstation event where I was able to play the PS4 three weeks before launch. Shadow Fall may look like Crysis 3 on a gaming rig, but I don't play on the PC so it's new to me.
And it's not just the games. The excitement with next gen and the PS4 is about new ways to connect and share gaming experiences. It's about sharing those moments in games that make us love gaming and have our friends watch them with us.

If you want to kill things in a multiplayer environment, then the Xbox One is probably for you.
If you're looking for something more, different, unique, AND you want to kill things, then the PS4 is a good choice.
If you want all the online services hiding behind a paywall, then go Xbox.
If you want to be able to use Netflix and Hulu without having to subscribe to another service, take the PS4.
Simple.
I think that it's more than the games announced right now, but for me Sony has won me over by their display of commitment to games in the future. The PS3 still has great games coming out and has had great exclusives for years. Microsoft seems to have all but abandoned the 360 (and has for awhile now). Will Microsoft be offering unique experiences on the XB1? All I see are a ton of games in which you kill things in different ways, and sports games. People may complain about Sony's...
The one game out of them all that I absolutely must have is The Order 1886. I could care less about BF4, COD, or Titanfall. The Order is a game designed for me. I want a 3rd person action game set around 1900. I freaked out when I saw the trailer at E3. I'd buy the PS4 for that game alone. But then there's all the free stuff I'm getting with the PS+, so may as well get it in order to play it.
What gets me is that the PS3 is 7 years old and there are still fantastic games coming out for it. There will be amazing games coming out for it for years still, and the PS3 only has 512mb of memory split between main and video.
512mb is nothing today. It's less than nothing. In 2007 it wouldn't have been enough to run Windows Vista. It was very little back then. But 8gb GDDR5 memory today is pretty significant. I'm betting that the PS4 is going to have a longer li...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HA!
That's awesome. That's the best laugh I've had in awhile. An honest prediction would be that the PS4 will outsell every Wii U ever made by New Year's Day. That one is at least plausible.
This is one of those predictions that is only made in that the off chance it actually does happen, the person is viewed as some sort of genius.
I actually went back and re-read it only to discover that they changed the article. If you look in the address bar, it contains the title "psn-claims-battlefield-4 -is-1080p-on-ps4-requires-1080p -native-display/" but they have since cut out the whole section about "requiring a 1080p display." The original article had a paragraph in which they said that a 1080p display was required to play the game at all. So in the original, if you had a 720 display you were SOL. They...
Exactly, but the way I'm reading this article, they're interpreting it as saying that it ONLY outputs in 1080p and therefore the only way you can play it is on a 1080p monitor, which I don't think is the case.
But my question is does this mean the game won't run at 720 if you don't have a 1080p display? It just says that it requires a 1080p display in order to view a 1080p signal. That seems quite obvious. Just because it doesn't mention 720 doesn't mean it won't play that.
If you go to the PS Store now and look up "flOw" it will tell you that the PS3 version is in 1080p and the game plays fine in 720.
There is not standard for the game description...
I love my Vita. I play mine religiously all the time, and I got mine at launch. I love using it when I have just a few minutes free here and there throughout the day. And when I'm not playing a game I have it in the dock connected to some speakers and I play music or watch youtube on it. It's perfect.
The two big improvements that I love are the better battery life and the standard charging port. I really like the idea of being able to use a micro-usb charger instead of having to rely on the proprietary cord.
As for the screen, whatever. I jump between the screen on my phone, my Vita, my TV, my PSP, and a 3DS. All of them are different resolutions and different types of screens. It takes a second but once I start playing, I adjust and it's fine.
Well, I think they're touting 4k media such as movies. I'm not even sure why everyone is so concerned with 4k gaming when:
A: Very, very few people own 4k TVs. And I'd be willing to bet that J.J. Moneybags who does own one isn't wondering when he can play Call of Duty on it.
B: Most games today are still at 720p, so maybe we can get to 1080 before worrying about 4k.
I would say this is crazy and it won't happen, but then again I also said Microsoft couldn't just pull out its always-online requirement and wouldn't change their stance on used games. Right now it seems anything is possible. The world has gone topsy turvy. Up is down, black is white... dogs and cats living together!
Um.... the PS4 isn't "overheating" it's just "heating." All electronics, computers, phones, consoles, get warm when you use them long enough. If the system was "overheating" it would fail. It wouldn't freeze the game, it would shut down.
I'm failing to understand how a warm console (and my PS3 gets warm a lot of times) and a frozen game equal to overheating? They didn't fix the problem by cooling it down. They fixed it by resett...
Yeah, it seems like they forgot to tell their partners this was coming because not only Amazon, but Microsoft and Sony both seem to be responding as though this is something they hadn't heard before.
I'm sure Amazon's response is that if you had it pre-ordered, you can switch it to another bundle, wait for the game in the spring, or cancel.
I think that saying "Amazon is clueless" is a bit harsh. Ubisoft announces the game is delayed and within minutes a Customer Service rep is being grilled as to what Amazon's exact course of action is going to be. The guy at Amazon said they need to check with their suppliers before deciding what to do. I mean come on, at least give them an hour or a day to figure out what's going on first.
I wish some of the apps they have in Japan, like Reader and Hulu, were available here, but other than that I love it. I would give up my PS3 before I would ever give up my Vita.
The game definitely looks like fun. Yes, it's a rehash of the Arkham Asylum story, but so what? Isn't every Mario and Zelda game the rehashing of the same story over and over? It doesn't mean they're not fun to play.
I just wish a lot of reviewers would stop comparing handheld games to the console counterparts. Most reviews I've seen on Blackgate keep comparing it to Arkham Origins or Asylum, but why can't they just accept this game as a standalone and revi...
