The PS4 camera will not suffer the same fate as the Eye and Move controllers because you don't need to purchase extra controllers to make it work. It used to be you had to buy the camera, then buy a couple of controllers, and then get games that would work with them all. Now, every controller is compatible. All you need is the camera. Games, like Shadow Fall, will have built in features if you have the camera, but will disable them if you don't. I think that from what they have s...
I think Cerny had a slip of the tongue and forgot he wasn't supposed to mention youtube yet.
Indeed, it was sarcasm. I didn't think anyone could have possibly taken that seriously. I was so dazzled by the numbers I must have been less sarcastic than usual. Though when you think about it.... 3>1
Well I was just reading the latest issue of Gameinformer and they say:
"Microsoft recently announced a partnership with Twitch.tv, a popular live game streaming service that also has a deal in place with Sony."
So maybe the idea isn't crazy. Maybe like youtube it just hasn't been announced yet.
Well, that 1gb is going to be used for switching between games, or to have the gamechat feature running while in game. There will be other applications that will need access to the memory while you're in game.
Who cares about efficiency? It's about quantity. Xbox has THREE operating systems and PS4 only has one. 3>1 Xbox wins! 5 billion transistors and 300,000 servers. 15 exclusives, 8 new IPs... XBOX ONE! Be dazzled by the numbers.
Just good luck seeing the Vita screen in the sun by the pool. I've never had much luck seeing mine in the sunlight.
It always rains on release day... and Halloween. I'm sure it will rain somewhere. It rained on me at the PS3 launch and I wasn't even able to get one. I had to experience "next gen" gaming via the Wii.
I think Sony is a lot further along in production than anyone (other than digitimes) thinks. They have a few bombs left to drop. They still have a massive line-up of games from their studios that have yet to be announced. And then I think they will shock everyone and say they are launching the last weekend in October or the first weekend in November in the US. Then Nov. 13 in Europe.
Pre-ordering also helps avoid people standing in the rain for hours on launch day and then violence will break out. Remember the story of the guy who got shot for his ps3? I bet he wishes he had pre-ordered
This isn't "confirmed" but more like a slip. He didn't mean to mention youtube and you can see his expression says that he said something he shouldn't have. We will still have to wait for something official
This is ridiculous. Microsoft could not have made it any simpler nor explained it any clearer.
Look, The Xbox One is Microsoft's third xbox and the successor to the Xbox 360. It is the one box that will sit under your tv (hence the name) and will be placed next to your cable box, surround sound receiver box, external hard drive, and your Xbox 360 so you can play all the games you have already. Microsoft is helping to simplify the living room experience. It has 5 billion transi...
Anyone else catch that Cerny said that the share button could be used to upload videos to Youtube? So far all they have said is Facebook and Ustream. Whenever anyone asks about youtube, they usually dodge the question and say that have nothing else to announce. But Cerny comes out and says it, then he has this "oh shit, what did I just say?" look on his face. I'm sure we'll get an official word soon.
The real winner will be whichever company can manufacture the most. Supplies are always limited at launch and final sales are usually determined by the manufacturing numbers. In 2006 when the PS3 launched, Microsoft had the advantage of a full year to build up healthy inventories for the following holiday season. With the inventory, the price advantage, and the software lineup, Microsoft was set to take first place... in the US.
A big problem with the Xbox1 is how US focused it i...
I ask, what is wrong with being a fanboy? Why is it that in any sport it is perfectly acceptable to be a die hard fan of one team but in video games it is viewed so negatively? I cheer for the Packers with an irrational emtion and I cheer for Playstation in the same way. They are my team and I will defend them. I don't care about xbox games. I have more than I can play on playstation and with the ps4 I hope more people realize that it is the best lace to play.
The ps4 is currently in 1, 3, 11, 14, and 76 with the xbox at 2. Personally I think its great they have these new bundles. Maybe Sony has increased the number of units available. I also think I'm going with the Knack bundle. I've got a feeling that is going to be a great game for people of all ages. And you can't argue against the games Cerny has made in the past.
I'm guessing it's a planned leak from Sony. They will actually launch in October ahead of the early November release date for the Xbox.
The interesting thing is look at the other best-selling items in Amazon's video game section. Yes, the PS4 and X1 are the top 2, but the PS4 also has the camera, a controller, and five games all in the top 20. The only thing the X1 has is a game right around #30. That just doesn't add up to me. The console is the #2 seller but games are after 30? Huh? So what are all the people buying the X1 bundle going to be playing? I'm calling a conspiracy theory on this one.
Of course the big used-game chains like Blockbuster and GameStop are going to come out and support the Xbox One. By being one of the "approved retailers" they are getting a monopoly on the used games business. They don't have to compete with mom and pop shops, eBay, Craiglist, or yard sales. Microsoft's policies are eliminating their competition for them.
They said a lot of things at the reveal that turned out to be inaccurate or misleading. And then when you factor in their 180 flip on used games and game sharing, I don't think it's unreasonable to think that they'd adjust their policy on ad displays.
