As long as they can get basic Remote Play working, that's good enough for me.
You're optimism is inspiring. I have a Windows Phone, which I like, but sitting at 3% marketshare after 3 years isn't exactly a sales explosion. The only reason it's taking off recently is because Nokia sells the 520 for less than $100.
Microsoft has been marketing the idea of live tiles for years now and it's just not gaining traction. Are live tiles really the answer or is Microsoft just too stubborn to admit they were wrong? I like them on the phone, bu...
Vita games will look great on a big screen despite the resolution difference. I've been addicted to Dragon's Crown for the last week and I would love to just pop the card in and play it on my TV once in awhile. And Rayman Origins is also compatible, and that one would be great on the big screen.
In Sony's defense, they thought the West would the PS Vita because it had dual sticks, but that didn't exactly take off.
What I'm not buying though is this notion that they hadn't considered selling it in the West. When they announced it, they said it was coming FIRST to Japan (and Southeast Asia). The Shuhei makes a comment about Gaikai coming to Vita as well as VitaTV. But right now Gaikai is only being mentioned for the North American market. So why poi...
It looks like Windows 8, which in turn looks like Windows Phone, and neither of those two products have been received particularly well. I understand trying to have a unified interface, but is this the interface that people really want?
Or maybe there's an argument to be made that each device should have a UI that's tailored for that experience. A phone on a 4.5" screen needs a different UI than a PC on a 15" screen which needs a different UI than a consol...
Microsoft returns to the Tokyo Game Show to reveal that you can't stand it vertically and only the US will have TV functionality at launch. Normally you want to announce positive things at these game shows.
So I've been waiting and waiting and waiting for the big Microsoft news to come out of TGS, and the only thing I get is you can't stand the console vertically?? That's it?!
So at the last major gaming expo before the launch of two next-generation consoles, and the only thing people seem to be talking about is the Vita. Sony, my hat is off to you for learning how to control the conversation.
So what would set an Amazon microconsole apart from one by Google, or any of the other upcoming consoles that will be coming out? Or is it just the relentless bombardment of Android microconsoles that is going to push it forward?
I'm looking forward to the Vita TV because it supports good games that I already have, plus is an accessory to the PS4. What will Amazon's box add that I don't already have?
Yes, of course. It takes time for all the developers to come on board and have it so their games are staggered throughout the year.
What I want to know is where is all the Microsoft news?? I thought it was going to be a big deal that they were at TGS, and so far I haven't seen anything about the Xbox One yet. What happened?
How is this news? They announced this back at E3. And at the PS4 announcement conference, David Perry stated the goal for Gaikai and then at E3 Andrew House said it would be coming to NA in 2014.
For me it's my first purchase. I'm a huge God of War, Jak and Daxter fan, and this game looks like it plays like those.
It's also a title I can play with my daughter, which is just an added bonus.
Let's face it, nobody was rushing out to buy the Vita en mass because of the gorgeous OLED screen. It's nice, but it's not a system seller.
The new Vita trades features you won't notice for ones that you will. Unless you are holding an original Vita right next to the new model, chances are you won't notice the difference.
You will however notice the extra battery life, the decreased weight, and the standard micro-usb connector to charge it. That last o...
I thought that too, but if you look closely at the 5 boxes on the top, they are different. So maybe it is 120 with 5 boxes of controllers and accessories.
Right, but patching in compatibility with the Dualshock 4 is what is going to take some time. And I want it now too :)
They shouldn't release it into markets where the PS4 is selling until the Dualshock4 and Remote Play support is ready.
The Vita TV works on so many levels, aside from being a streaming device for the PS4.
- It fulfills the promise of cross-save. Currently you can play a game on your TV and then continue it on your Vita IF the developer made two versions of the game, and you bought both, or else the developer took a hit and ate the costs to provide a cross-buy title. With the VitaTV you can play on the big screen and then seamlessly continue the exact same game on the handheld.

Look, you can put a dog in a box and call it a cat all day long, but it's still just a dog in a box.
Well, the article mentions specifically
"Like it or not, at this stage the prospect of playing Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, Ryse: Son of Rome and versions of both Call of Duty: Ghostsand Battlefield 4 with exclusive content may prove to be a far more enticing one for most players"
And I look at that list and think, "Driving, killing zombies, killing ancient soldiers, killing future soldiers, and killing modern day soldiers." I know...
"Sony must ensure.." Like this effects more than .5% of customers, if that. This is really a case of a someone making a big deal about one small that is important to him and just a few others.
This guy won't buy until there are great exclusives he can't play anywhere else. The counter to this is people who want to cross play games where they play on the PS3 at home and then continue on the Vita when they're on the go. For me, it's not either or. The Vita has a ton of great games and the Vita is the most convenient way for me to play them. I'm mostly playing it around the house when I have a burst of free time.
