If a Mario game didn't have Mario in it, would it score as well? For me it seems like most of the complaints about Knack can be attributed to any Mario game as well, but because everyone loves Mario, it gets a 9/10.
What does the current day hold for "games journalism?"
A group of guys getting early access to games and then giving their opinions on the games is not journalism. It's commentary. In a newspaper they'd be relegated to the op-ed section and the very notion of calling the journalists would be mocked. At best these people are PR mouthpieces who just republish press releases and at worst they're biased fanboys with an agenda.

As a Vita owner from day one, I have so many opinions on the platform, and such a love for this little machine. I can only wait until the VitaTV makes it's way State's side and I can have some Vita action on the big screen.

This is a game that is going to get a 2/10 review score and yet I'll be buying it for Christmas and it will give my daughter hours and hours of entertainment.
As a guy, I don't get girls. I thought my daughter would love the zoo games, but she could care less. She likes characters (Monster High or Mickey Mouse games) or she likes games with a catch... like she likes playing Infamous just to keep climbing buildings and falling.
I'm not planning on picking up an Xbox, so we'll see what PS gets.

This game is EXACTLY what I've been looking for.
In 2006 I bought a Wii because I was burned out on the brutal action games I was seeing on every other system. I wanted something light, colorful, and fun.
Now, after spending so much time with the same, dark action games, or games like The Last of Us, I want something light, colorful and fun... without having to buy a WiiU. I'm burned out on the gore and violence (for right now).
Well from everything I've read, it's a game designed for kids if you play on easy. It's why the controls were designed to be simple, and why the co-op mode is the way it is.
I'm getting it anyway, just was curious if there were any reviews that highlighted this aspect.
This game looks nice, but it has zero appeal to me. I'll play it since it's free, but I don't understand how people like these kinds of games.
I've tried Super Stardust and while it's ok, I don't see why everyone raves about it.
I'm interested in this game mainly to play with my daughter, but none of the reviews I've seen mention anything about playing it with kids. The games that interest and are good to a kid are vastly different than what entertain a full grown man (especially one who writes video game reviews for a living. My daughter can't stop playing games that are supposedly awful based on review scores).

How does someone give a score to a console that continually evolves over time? Reviews are going too far. It's like reviewing the first five minutes of a movie.
I'm sure that when Activision releases a patch fixing any/all framerate issues on the PS3/4, they will go back and revise their review and say the PS4 is the best version.

Elop is right. The Xbox is the coolest thing that Microsoft has, and on the consumer front, it's one of the biggest successes, but for Microsoft as a whole, it's a distraction.

Amazon's B2G1 deal is having a huge impact on sales. If you look at their best sellers list, as of right now, PS4 games are the top 6 spots.
I'm seeing PS4 games 1-6, 9, 11, 12, 14, 25. Even the camera is placing in the top 25. Knack is at #5 currently. And this is in addition to everyone who pre-ordered a game with a bundle.
After watching a number of live streams of this game, I just don't get the review scores. It looks super fun.
